His goal was more than just a tap in. He won the header initially in his own box, quickly got into attack mode. Made a good run to take two defenders away from Jota and got into a position to help Jota make an easy decision.

Such a deft touch for his assist too. It’s a ball coming at speed and he couldn’t have put it across with more precision. I think it may even have spun into the net itself.

Such a good footballer. It will be sad when he finally hangs it up.

Only people who don't understand football sneer at "just tap ins" anyway.

If they were that easy, every forward would score 30 a season.

Ronaldo fan boys trying to make out that his tap in was some kind of genius goal from him

It is truly incredible how much people are clutching at straws with him.

Another goal and an assist today. He is having a good tournament. Not sure the team is going to go far but if they go out early I don't think anyone could blame Ronaldo for it.

He was poor. I'd play him as a striker because he adds nothing outside the box.

Sorry.

Yeh the final touch is a tap in, but It was a 80 metre sprint to the box prior to the goal, and he started the counter attacking move by heading the ball outside of his own box. So his involvement of the goal is more than just a tap in to be fair.

Started the counter attack with a header, come on, he doesn't get the tap in if it wasn't for Bernardo's amazing ball. You are talking as if he knew Bernardo was going to pull off a ridiculous pass. Like I said, absolutely clutching at straws, it's embarrassing and pathetic.

He did "started" the counter attack move, come on, and he did make the run from his own box to the opponents box, Bernado did supply the assist.

Its like, you blind out everything on him except the final tap in, which is weird.

Meh, it was a pretty good goal; wins the defensive header in his own box, sprints the full length of the pitch to get on the end of it. It was a really good counterattacking goal.

My favourite bit was that arrogant chip over the German's head followed by the no look, mid air, backheel pass. Just funny.

Fairly pedestrian performance today imo. Portugal, despite having more talent this year, appear to be missing something from their 16 side. The likes of Nani and Quaresma seemed to provide a spark that they are lacking at the moment.

He headed a ball and ran it's not exactly great, he has always relied a lot on other players service. Yet he always gets the credit. Ronaldo fan boys are almmost as bad as flat earther. The mental gymnastics from his fans is absurd.

A manager.

Sorry.

Whoscored give him avg rating of 8.53, the highest in the match. He was their motm.

1 goal 1 assist 3 dribbles 2 key pass 2 cross 88.9% pass completion

Sorry if you miss all that.

feck me, we big up United’s counter attacking goals throughout history where one player runs the length of the pitch at serious pace to make it possible. Even the Swedish commentators and Kim Källström made a point of showing the hunger of the run from a 36yr old to score a goal.
But carry on la’

Twas a class goal all round that

Nah. It was a good goal. Your own mental gymnastics could do with a pick me up though, you've just fallen off the pommel horse.

The assist was class, probably better than the tap in.

You’re being a bit weird in this thread with how much you need to play down the goal, why let it bother you so much.

The second greatest player of all time. Games like today you feel lucky to be in his era. He has the combined skill set of Henry and Inzaghi (pippo).

Messi's fanboys are really something else .

Goal was great, not the final action itself, but the whole sequence. The assist was also quite good, he showed a lot of awareness.

3 goals and 1 assist in 2 games. Highest ever this and that. Its a strange debate to have at this time

Well you blind out his 80m sprint again, which is main reason why people praise him for his part of goal. It seems that you are the only one here who keep insisting its a meh goal, why don't you just take a step outside, have a breather or something. Instead of keep insisting on something no one agree with?

It was a good team goal that started and finished with him. It wasn't a genius goal but it was a good counterattack goal

While you guys keep going on for pages (which I'll enjoy reading), for me personally this is the most solid group phase of his career in Euros, easily.

Yeh the assist was class too, but the 80m counter attack sprint was also very impressive.

To channel Roy Keane, I don't find sprinting particularly impressive. You're an attacker, its your job.

The assist however, was a touch of class.
