Cristiano Ronaldo - Much Ado About Al Nassr

Yep, look how fantastic juventus have been the last two seasons without Ronaldo

21/22 - 70 points total, 57 goals scored
22/23 so far 44 points (with a 15 point deduction), 47 goals scored

Ronaldo's last season with an amateur in pirlo managing

20/21 78 points total, 77 goals scored.

I wouldn't bother answering and "FCB" twitter account that claims "managers sink with Ronaldo"

It's more the people on here that seem to believe anything as long as it comes from a twitter account and there's a little picture that comes with the tweet

wouldn't any team have their form drop off when 2 of their best players are out? Obviously, it depends who their back ups are...most teams don't have depth like city and you'd see a drop off if you remove their best player and a realy good player
Yeah that’s my point. We became a better side predominantly because of those players. Very little to do with switching from Ronaldo to Weghorst.

2021/22 Ronaldo >>> Weghorst. Unfortunately Ronaldo fell off a cliff this season

Why was Garcia sacked? Aren’t they second?

ٌRonaldo's fanboys loves to flip facts always  & btw stats can lie about your real overall performance

Juventus before Ronaldo won the league 7 times in a row & reached the cl final twice & had multiple players who can score

with Ronaldo they start playing bad & dybala wasn't the same

in cl they lost to small teams

with man united we were good the previous season & with him i think was saw his bad impact

his PR & fanboys trying so hard to defend him & insert him in these goats debate were he isn'y qualify to be in ... 1 of the best in the last 30 years yes .... top 10 all time of course no

Right and since he was replaced with a 70m striker in vlahovic, juventus have performed much worse, suggesting the team was declining, and that he was actually helping the team given the drop off since he's left. Using his performances at the age of 37 to justify not including him in a top 10 of all time list seems incredibly bitter.

Ronaldo can easily be considered a top 10 of all times, his overall career is better than R9,Zidane, Ronaldinho, Van Basten, Best, etc

He is not on Messi, Maradona, or Pele level, but 6-10 could do.

That Juventus side was reaching the end of its peak, with or without Ronaldo.

fun fact ... Ronaldo never won best player award at international level at all not even in the olympics but still his PR & fanboys trying so hard to make a case for him:confused:

I'm not q Ronaldo fanboy, far from it.

But i don't think he needs that top be a top 10 player of all time, his club career is so much better than R9, Zidane, Ronaldinho, Van Basten, and Best that i don't think he needs the an international "best player" award.

Wouldn't there be an argument that had Juventus spent the €100+ transfer fee plus wages of Ronaldo on long term investments, they'd be in a better position now?

Juve were already dominant in Serie A and didn't need Ronaldo, he also put them no closer to winning the champions league.

Easily. Look at how much better Rashford is without Ronaldo than with. Money would've been much better spent elsewhere.

Maybe, they're much poorer with vlahovic in place of Ronaldo, scoring less goals, gaining less points. The issue wasn't really what ronaldo brought to the team while he was there, but at 33 he had very limited resale values

Plus, who's to say their money would have been better spent elsewhere, how much have they wasted on wages for pogba

Hard to not see why Juve bought him, he just left Real after 5 CLs and scoring for fun for consecutive seasons. Plus then the appeal of having Ronaldo in the team for PR and sponsors I’m sure they’ve made a lot of the money back from the outlay.
It’s difficult to predict how it would have went had Ronaldo not joined, but I think the risk was worth it. As you say they were already dominant and thinning Ronaldo could be the missing piece to make them CL winners.
Same with PSG buying Messi, thinking he could be the difference to propel them to European glory.
We made a mistake buying him at the time as well, but was a hard decision to back away from.

Signing C.Ronaldo was a mistake for Juventus just as much as it was a mistake for him to join them. It was an odd marriage that didn't benefit either of them

Yeah, staying at Madrid would have hugely benefited him, they'd have likely gotten past ajax in the champions league with him and had a decent chance at 4 champions leagues in a row. It was stupid for perez to basically prefer Bale over Ronaldo, and it was stupid for Ronaldo to waste the last years of his peak at juventus over money, particularly when you look at the amount he's earning in Saudi Arabia now

Would be hilarious if he turned the Saudi giants to also-rans in his first season. And since when has Michael Oliver been officiating in the Middle East??

Imagine the look on his face if he realizes that he was placed at Al-Nassr (which some questioned at the time) because the plan was always for Messi to go to the premier team (Al-Ittihad) the whole time.

He would be absolutely seething.

Doubt you watched Ronaldo much then.

Ronaldo even after his knee injury injury:

This was young Ronaldo

There are hours of compilations of him going past his player not because of speed alone but raw technical ability. And yes, as an 18 year old taking on his man he would lose the ball because that's what all attacking players do.

Messi was often tied as the top 3-4 players in La Liga for losing the ball. This is arguably the greatest dribbler ever we are talking about. When you take on players, you lose the ball.

And no R9 was never a dribbler like this. You're just being nostalgic.

Ighalo strikes again, summer loan bid for next season perhaps? If the Glazers are still here anything is possible.

Ronaldo is a lucky boy to still be on the pitch, should of had a red for me.

He is a ghost on that pitch in an attacking sense.

Just saw the clip  Why is Oliver reffing over there??? Even funnier than Ronaldo doing his random aggressive things

False.

200m a year and serving up this shite.

I don't think the 200m was supposed to be reflective of his current ability level. Sky sports were streaming the game on their website tonight, I didn't watch it and it was for free, but the fact that they're even bothering to stream the Saudi league was the driver behind that kind of contract and nothing else

Fecking Michael Oliver running around in Saudi Arabia.
