Do goals in the Saudi league count as professional goals?
Yes, of course.

Okay. Should they, though?
Absolutely, they should.Okay. Should they, though?
As a Scot I really have to say that our league shouldn't be a benchmark for anything, it's fecking terribleAbsolutely, they should.
You do realize Saudi pro League is one of the top 30 leagues in world football and ranked higher than the Scottish Premiership?
The Scottish league still maintains its global recognition largely due to the presence of historic clubs like Celtic and Rangers. Scottish teams have also won 10 European trophies. As a Scot I really have to say that our league shouldn't be a benchmark for anything, it's fecking terrible

Nice assist to Messi with number 10.And we're meant to take the 30th best league in the world seriously?
1. Premier League
2. La Liga
3. Serie A
4. Bundesliga
5. League One
6. Turkey's league
7. Dutch league
8. Portugal's league
9. Brazil's league
10. Maybe MLS
That's about all the leagues that matter.
Okay. Should they, though?
Same and am I alone in not watching him in any match since joining this Saudi retirement league?Every time I open this thread expecting something interesting, it’s Ronaldo scoring a penalty against semi-pros.
I literally didn't even know there was a Saudi league until he joined themSame and am I alone in not watching him in any match since joining this Saudi retirement league?
Why the hell would League One be fifth? And we're meant to take the 30th best league in the world seriously?

Yeah, that would make way more sense. They probably meant Ligue 1
Saudi league is better than MLSAnd we're meant to take the 30th best league in the world seriously?

You realise 30 leagues is A LOT though, right? In any other sport the 30th best league is like the 5th best leagues U11s?
In the "top 30 leagues" is high praise indeed.
The Saudi League is far stronger than the MLS at this point, maybe not before the spending spree but certainly now.
Al-Hilal have Koulibaly, Cancelo, Ruben Neves, Mitrovic and Milankovic Savic, players that could all start for Man Utd arguably, and that's not even including Neymar who's still injured.
Even looking at some of the other squads
Al-Itthiad: Kante, Fabinho, Bergwin, Aouar, Moussa Diaby and Karim Benzema
Al Ahli: Kessie, Demiral, Ibanez, Edouard Mendy, Riyad Mahrez, Firmino, Ivan Toney
Al-Nassr: Laporte, Sadio Mane, Cristiano Ronaldo
Some of those players aren't even past their prime, players like Toney, Neves and Mitrovic are in their best years. Even the smaller teams have players like Moussa Dembele or Wijnaldum.
Name one team in the MLS that even comes close to those mentioned aside from Inter Miami.
Pretty sure a league is made up of more than a scattering of once upon a time playersThe Saudi League is far stronger than the MLS at this point, maybe not before the spending spree but certainly now.

Puts Messi's name on the thumbnail of his latest YouTube video. Wow!

10? I'm pretty sure they've only won 3.....4 if you want to count the European Super Cup.The Scottish league still maintains its global recognition largely due to the presence of historic clubs like Celtic and Rangers. Scottish teams have also won 10 European trophies.

I can 100% see him doing this.I can remember this parody account on twitter that which tells that Cristiano's girlfriend said that Ronaldo went mental when Messi won the wc and started playing Fifa on very Easy mode against Argentina over and over and absolutely hammering them.
See him overtake Messi on the final stretch in that racing game on the same day that Messi clinched the top spot for Inter Miami the 1st time in their history makes me question whether it really was parody.
