Cristiano Ronaldo - Much Ado About Al Nassr

I definitely didn’t delete it. Looks like someone else did. And the follow up post, which was far worse. Oh well.

Maybe if you weren't a Caf celebrity Pogue, you'd have been banned. So a mod saved your skin. I get feeling morally disgusted by his alleged actions, but your post was still pretty poor.

Ach it’s mainly pantomime. Supposed to be the exact opposite to a post, two posts above it, where someone was fantasising about him having an incredible tournament. I don’t really want him to snap his achilles. I’d settle for severe haemorrhoids. Or a crippling fungal toenail infection.

Ah, fair enough. He's probably got that fungal toenail infection. So many of them do. You can celebrate now

Great fecking goals today against the Irish, specially the first one

Should have been banned a long time ago

He's like a freight train accelerating at top speed after somebody has removed the brake cable ensuring the vehicle isn't able to decrease velocity regardless of the obstacle. Just unstoppable.

Still an incredible finisher. We could have made it work at United but we were too fixated on playing a high press.
No.

It would never work because the guy is a delusional, self absorbed, narcissistic twat who could never accept that he is no longer the player he once was, and went crying to Uncle Piers when ETH didn't bow to his every whim.

That stepover goal really rolled back the years. In an alternate universe, he would've been the perfect mentor for Hojlund.

A high press that never fecking existed. I know Ronaldo was a dick but a lot of pundits have a part to play on why it went so sour and the shite they spewed for months on end.

Not bad, eh?

In any case, national tournament games can go so many ways, he can have 1 or 2 games where he underperforms and suddenly he his on the bench like in the WC 2022. He can also start off flying like in the WC 2018. I don't doubt in my mind he's gotta start for us, but I do hope exhibitions like today, where even his all around game was pretty darn good, keep happening on the actual tournament.

It's Ireland.

Wanted to watch him against a better side like Croatia, surprisingly didn't play there. I guess he was saving himself to play against mighty Irelan.

Let’s hope he goes out with a bang, think he gets a bit too much shit round here and deserves to be remembered fondly (can’t believe he popped so much in the disliked United players list).

He’s a dick, but the circumstances were wrong in his come back. Too many mentally fragile players and a poor manager but getting rid of Ronaldo was obviously the correct decision because of the way he behaved.

Still, wish you could bottle that feeling from his come back game against Newcastle, special moment.

Almost at 900 goals now. Which is insane. However, Pele had a thousand before he turned 30.

I've never really understood why the fans hate him so much for the Piers interview.

He shouldn't have done it, but basically everything he said in it was true.

He did it for himself, he did to slag off the club because he was no longer good enough. He didn't care about the facilities being old, he could've kicked privately about it but he decided to air his dirty laundry because he was no longer the main man. He couldn't acknowledge that he was part of the problem and he had inadvertently got Ole the sack. Now here he was trying to derail some good momentum we picked up under ten Hag in that period - in other words the timing was completely off for him to do that.

Add to that doing it with Piers Morgan, a man who has a vested interest in Manchester United failing, and it all adds up to it being a self-serving dick move.

Yeah. I remember we played our best game vs Spurs at home and he went to the tunnel early while the game hadn't even finished yet.

He looks in way better shape before this tournament at 39 playing for Saudi farmers than he did before the previous one at 37 playing for us. Not a good look. Are we the problem?

Piers Morgan, a man who is Piers Morgan.

Nah seriously I feel you can never rule Ronaldo out even at his age. I doubt he'll have an all-time iconic euro, but Portugal have a strong squad and even when people think he's finished he pops up with something.

Pele's record is sketchy.
Modern revisionism. No one questioned his record at the time. In fact, his tally of 1279 goals is a Gunness World Record. And if CR7's goals in Saudi Arabia count, then I'm pretty sure all of Pele's should.
