What a plucky underdog, only 5 signings and 200m spent. Proper hard done by.Feel for Ten Hag.
If Napoli are so keen to have Ronaldo, then surely a straight swap with an option to buy is sound? If it doesn’t work they get their great player back after Ronnie leaves, no?
If not, and Ronaldo leaves anyway, id rather we get someone like Memphis in as a stop gap whilst we actually scout cheaper alternatives like a real club should, or develop Garnacho over the season… Alternately hold Ronaldo to his contract and tell him to buckle down.
I dunno, I don’t work in player recruitment but I don’t need to to know throwing multiple £100m deals at people with no track record in a top top League isn’t sensible strategy, and precisely what most of us (and even ducking Arnold!) said we shouldn’t still be doing when Woodward left.

More the fact that he's stuck with this tosser. What a plucky underdog, only 5 signings and 200m spent. Proper hard done by.
I'm very excited about this season with Ten Hag, but not loving the prospect of another year of the Ronaldo circus.
We have that option, not himIt's likely going to be 2 more years. He has that option, after all, and why wouldn't he pull it, seeing that it's basically retirement for him after this gig
How is this good?
We essentially get boxed in.
I don't think he particularly cares, he shown he's willing to drop him and carry on without him and been significantly backed in his position. Sure he wants him to be replaced, but this is quite a fleeting issue in the big picture and I expect Ten Hag to outlast Ronaldo.
I genuinely think we'll do well without him and then it won't matter. Also if he fancies coming on and scoring a few goals, that will be welcome too.More the fact that he's stuck with this tosser.
The reality is that we have no money left to replace him, Auba doesn't want to come here and Depay is shite. If he stays it's better it's happened this way, rather than us forcing him.
A nice reality check for him, and he can have no complaints or sympathy if he spends most of the season on the bench.
Don't get? What a plucky underdog, only 5 signings and 200m spent. Proper hard done by.
Well he did inherit a squad bloated and rotten to it´s core and a petulant manchild on 500k/w with all the crap that comes with it.What a plucky underdog, only 5 signings and 200m spent. Proper hard done by.

I just think he'll kick up a stink that will linger throughout the season. His antics are a distraction that we don't need. I hope he won't have a detrimental effect on the pitch, even if he isn't involved.I genuinely think we'll do well without him and then it won't matter. I think he's been backed to the hilt and pretty much moved on without Ronaldo, he also had a whole pre-season without him. I think if he was being forced to play him, I'd feel sorry for him, but I see Ronaldo going further down the pecking order with Anthony coming in.Don't get?
Agreed and I think he's done that. The Ronaldo issue is solely of Ronaldo's making (causing and being unable to resolve) and the whole team is moving on without him.Well he did inherit a squad bloated and rotten to it´s core and a petulant manchild on 500k/w with all the crap that comes with it.
I hope to see him stamp his authority on this club and these problems.
Personally, I don't see it. He can't truly expect to be sold to Chelsea, that's pure desperation on his part and when the windows closed, he'll just have to get on with it.I just think he'll kick up a stink that will linger throughout the season. My theory on that is he associates wage with status. Highest earner equals most valuable asset. Don't think his ego could stomach being paid less than his team matesIf all Ronaldo cares about is his legacy and CL goals, why not go play for free somewhere? He has generations of wealth now. He doesn't need one more season of wages, he'll probably make even more from sponsorships when retired.
Or too much less than Messi's getting at PSG ...My theory on that is he associates wage with status. Highest earner equals most valuable asset. Don't think his ego could stomach being paid less than his team mates
ETH will be pestered with Ronaldo questions throughout the season. Pundits will be lating into pur players like never before after any bad game that Ronnie doesn't start. It's a sideshow the club does not need.I think he's been backed to the hilt and pretty much moved on without Ronaldo, he also had a whole pre-season without him. So presumably he doesn’t value his CL legacy all that highly thenMy theory on that is he associates wage with status. Highest earner equals most valuable asset. Don't think his ego could stomach being paid less than his team mates
I clean.I stay
Don’t think he suit Chelsea at all with their pressing system. But they do need a goalscorer so there might still be a chance of this happening.
