He’s desperate to leave but no one seems to want him. It’s different if he was sought after by many clubs but there doesn’t seem to be anyone that’s remotely interested in taking him from us. He’s having a hissy fit as if we are rebuffing him in his attempts to leave but who is it that’s in for the guy because so far from what we’ve been told, the clubs that his agent has offered him too have said a “thanks, but no thanks” Yes ETH wants to keep him from what we’ve been told but I’m sure if a club came in with an offer for a player that didn’t want to be at the club, then the club would surely consider it and negotiate something that’s suits all parties. Problem is no one seems to want him.

I’d be over the moon if we got him off the wage bill and brought in the young talented striker from Salzburg - Sesko. Sign him and let ETH and his coaches develop him further into an even better player. Then again judging by our luck, he’ll probably end up at Leipzig/Dortmund and then have a whole host of clubs after him then if/when he continues his upwards trajectory.

It can be argued that him joining Chelsea could actually weaken them. He will score more goals than anyone else in the squad but they'll collectively score less and be worse than last season. Let him go where he wants.
 
He's reached Bale status - where his notoriety, fame and status are no longer justified by his actual play - which means for big clubs he's seen as a distraction more than an asset

Nobody at bayern wants to answer 50 post game questions about why cristiano was on the bench, whether that means he's a bench player, etc etc...
 
I hope he goes back to Sporting. I'd have a lot of respect for him if he did that. He doesn't need any more money and back there he can go to try and win them the Portuguese league and score a few more CL goals.

Win win scenario.

Btw, totally agree with his narcissistic side - he has controlled it to some extent here, but you can still see it when looking closely.

Also, to quote the other guy telling me off here, Ronaldo didnt originally come here to be part of a rebuild. We came 2nd, bought Varane+Cavani.. Bruno was great and we looked to be potentially challenging for titles when Ronaldo signed for us. That’s hardly the scenario now, hence I dont see him owing us. i dont buy the premise that we build our team solely around Ronaldo on purpose - albeit he didnt make us better as a team, but mostly worse.

Also with regards to the other poster quoting, it’s just weird fellow fans dictating how other fans should feel about a certain player. Im 35 years old, doing quite good on all fronts. I think I’m quite capable of having my own opinion and being entitled to that.

No one is asking you to hate Ronaldo. You can do as you please. You put up a bullet-pointed list of why you don't hate Ronaldo and I responded with why some of the reasoning is absurd, at least according to me. Unless you think we should not reply to each other in response and just express our own opinions and stick to it, It's ok I guess?

Again, it's part of Ronaldo's experience dealing with time. It's never kind to top athletes and his desperation is show. Kind of sad, but that's how he's handling it. Athletes deal with it differently.

Hope PSG have an easy run for a couple of seasons and Messi smashes that record while Ronaldo ends up at Sporting crashing out in the groups every year.

I see a lot of fans advocating for him to be sold (and I do get why). But if he goes he has to be replaced. Maybe the club is holding on to him because they know we can't find a quality replacement in time?

You mean, other than the offer his agent says exists, the one where United have to name a transfer fee figure so the other club will pay it? Other than that offer, which is probably Chelsea, yeah, no one's biting.

Why are you so sure it's Chelsea? It's already been reported that Tuchel has no interest in signing him
 
I find it hard to believe Ronaldo'h didn't have a stipulation in his contract if we failed to qualify for the CL. just like contracts stipulate bonuses for performance in the CL, you'd think not qualifying would be covered, even in a worst-case scenario. If Ronaldo'h didn't get that in his contract, then he and his agent are fools. feck both of them. Ronaldo'h can be an impact sub this season. I don't think Martial has suddenly amended all the errors of his ways and will magically be a Ballon d'Or candidate. I'd like to see us slap a 100M pounds tag on him. If Chelsea or Newcastle pony up, great, see ya later, and hopefully we can bring in a striker who isn't totally shit.
