Cricket

As awesome as Kohli is and possibly the closest anyone can potentially come to emulate Sachin's success, do any of you agree that game has become totally batsman oriented now, especially in ODIs and add to that the bowling quality going down considerably in most countries, Cricket has ceased to be a good and fair competition between bat and ball?
I read on FB people saying, "if only Kohli was there in 2003 final"... It is all hypothetical but could he feck.. No batting combination even if we combine all time greats, could have chased down that total in world cup final vs. that Aussie attack. Also some people saying Kohli is already better than Sachin. Don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Yes - ODI and T20 is far too batsman oriented. Kohli isn't in Sachin's league. I don't think the new kids understand the pressure Sachin played under for the first 15 odd years of his career - he gets out, game over.

Agree to all that. Saying we would have won in 03 with Kohli is not really logical, 359 back then wasn't the same as today. The only chance we had was with Sachin specially in the form that he was, and Joburg is quite a batsman friendly venue as well, but Aussies had a good enough attack to restrict us.

Kohli being better than Sachin already? That's just knee-jerk.

ICC needs to make some changes otherwise it will just become a 50 over version of 20-20.

They might even do away with tests in future, who knows. Even change ODIs to lesser over or have more T20s.

Rohit is such a superb player to watch. Grace, elegance and class. Packs a real punch to go with it.

Superb knock today. Really wondered how he'd react to running Kohli out.

Are Indian pitches really shit? I've not watched most of this series but teams seem able to score 300+ at will.

All 3 double hundreds in ODI's all by Indian players in India in the last 4 years or so, makes you think that.

Great to see Rohit doing well. This is the same guy who could barely get a double digit score few months back. It was always painful watching such a talent not performing to his potential. It's really a joy watching him.

200

The scores put up in this series have been ridiculous. There has to be something to help the bowlers otherwise it becomes a bore for me.

And there it is. Third batsman to make a 200 in ODI. All 3 Indians.

Sachin, Rohit... who's the third?

He's been in great from since just before the Champions Trophy, I think captaining Mumbai in the IPL helped him mature. He'll fly in Tests.

Great to see Rohit batting this way, but this is not cricket. I don't enjoy these matches. Poor show.

Dhoni doesnt like it so by extension, BCCI shouldnt want it either which might mean the rules are changed again.

well this is one case where the rules SHOULD be changed back. This is insane.

Same rules in Pakistan versus South Africa and they're barely scraping past 200.

It's the pitches and the bowlers.

Why on earth is Watson out here batting with a fecked up hamstring, with the Ashes 3 weeks away in a match that was lost before he came? Have I missed something?

Does Harsha Bhogle run a sports management company that manages Kohli or something? The way he hypes Kohli up is weird.

Shikhar Dhawan is a twat.

Mocking a player's injury(even though it's Shane Watson) is pathetic.
