BCCI announces 2 test series versus SA in November.

Worrying.

Looks like they want to cancel the SA tour because of differences between the boards.

BCCI have offered SA 2 tests and 3 ODIs with a take it or leave it option.

fecking cnuts.

Looks like India's tour of England next year will contain 5 tests.

Interesting

Not sure I quite understand the logic of picking a guy who doesn't get a bowl for his County to be a 3rd seamer in a 50 over game, but there you go.

Is there any speculation on the cause? Cricinfo says it has something to do with personal difference with Haroon Lorgat but offers no further details. Obviously it's important for the South Africans but it must be a very lucrative series for the BCCI as well surely. Better than playing West Indies.

Haroon Lorgat opposed the BCCI when he was ICC executive on things like the DRS.
CSA wanted to appoint Haroon Lorgat as its CEO early this year.
BCCI told CSA that Haroon Lorgat should not be appointed.
CSA appointed Haroon Lorgat.

Above 4 are factual and documented.

CSA then released India's tour fixtures.
BCCI objected to the fixtures and said that it did not approve it.
There was silence for a few months.
BCCI randomly cut down the tour itinerary and down-sized it to the least possible number of fixtures as required by the FTP.

I think it's very obvious why this happened. Lots of well known journalists have written about it in the past week. It's widely known/accepted that the cutting down of the tour is to spite CSA.

Thanks for the explanation. I haven't been keeping up to date on the news but guessed something like this might be the case.

It's amazing that a large billion-dollar corporation (which is what the BCCI has effectively become) can behave in this amateurish manner. Playing South Africa, a contender for best test team currently should be a plum tour...not an opportunity to play petty political games.

I am extremely disappointed. This was the perfect tour considering the players we have making the step up right now, in Dhawan, Vijay, Kohli, Pujara and Rohit Sharma.

This would've massively helped their progress.

I hope CSA calls BCCI out and cancels the tour(which was the other option offered by the BCCI).

The leagues need to start alienating the BCCI. Won't ever happen.

Also, can we have a new thread? These 50 pagers are fecking annoying.

Anyone following Zim vs Pak?

Zim have a lead of 220 with 7 down, Taylor still at the crease and the pitch misbehaving slightly. 250 would be a very difficult get if Zimbabwe bowl as well as they did in the first innings.

BCCI doing what the PCB should've done with Aamer, Asif & Butt. Those guilty of fixing should get life bans IMO.

Our cricket team selection is hopeless. No world class talent and no one with the potential to be one barring akmal. Cant believe we are struggling to beat zimbabwe, really need a good allrounder in there.

Rankin looks a very good bowler..

Lucky for England.

And I had no idea Stokes could bowl this quick, or that he even was a fast bowling all rounder.

Zim-Pak at a very crucial stage.

Zim needs 2 wickets and Pak needs 47 runs. Misbah should see Pakistan through.

Also nice to see Shaun Marsh batting nicely, he's the Australian Rohit Sharma, tonnes of talent but mental application is lacking.

Btw, Zimbabwe's pace attack looks promising. Chatara has been very good.

Chatara looks good. Every once in a while he drifts towards leg and gives cheap runs and lets batsman off hook but his deliveries on and around off stump are quality.

I was checking Zimbabwe's test wins stats. They have won tests only against India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. (2,2 and 5 respectively). So generous we asians are. :D

Shocking loss for Pakistan. Didn't Zimbabwe lose their lead bowler as well before the series?

So they've won against Pakistanis

This is clearly fixed..... :wenger:

Not followed this series but I'm really perplexed why Umar Akmal isn't given a chance in Test matches. Like most the team, he's suited to ODI's but he really should be given another run in the Test mode. Probably our most talented batsman.

Reviews in Test cricket are set to basically double because they're topped up to two after 80 overs.

Stupid decision, Cricket is really run by a bunch of idiots.

Retarded decision. Will encourage even more stupid reviews. Would be better if they allowed a team not to lose a review if the decision is 'umpires call.'

The common sense approach is one review per team umpires call doesn't lose a review.

If teams still waste them then its their fault.

They've basically just enshrined the Captain gets a review, your best player gets a review (unless your Australia in which case Watson does) and the rest of you can scrabble around for one between you into law.

Think he is injured. had a stroke or something like that getting off the plane, remember watching something about it.

Sussex v Durham at Hove tomorrow, shame CC is over would have been a good decider.

Rahul Shukla's got some pace on ihm, hasn't he?

Rajasthan are such a good side.

Felt a tad emotional when I saw Dravid playing for the last time.

What a way to go for him ehh? Batting at 8 and bowled while trying to slog.. Still trying to do what's best for the team even in his last game.

Same here, its such a huge loss. Its mental how very soon Sachin will be gone too and that'd be the last we ever see of Sachin-Dravid-Ganguly.

Manjrekar has been kicked out from the commentary panel at Star, by the BCCI.

Chappell refused to do commentary, as he didn't want to follow the BCCI's 3 rules of not talking about DRS, selection, administration.

Morrison and Ackerman kicked out because they said Kohli could be a future captain(selection issue).

SA getting bullied into getting rid of Lorgat.

Niranjan Shah being quoted in James Astill's book as saying India generate all the revenue and that cricket should turn into a NBA-style league with the game happening only in India.

Is no one else seriously bothered by this? I have become disillusioned with cricket.

Wankers. Disgraceful.
