His action is infuriating just to watch let alone the fact it's dodgy.

Hate seeing spin bowlers stop-start in motion. Ashwin does it sometimes.

Why are players only ever banned when they are about to face one of the 'Big 3' or there is a world event around the corner? How convenient. :wenger:

To be fair, he voluntarily missed the last world event because he knew he was a massive cheat and tried to change his action to pre-emptively get away with it.

Got very little sympathy for players like him and Ajmal that have made it to the pinnacle of the sport by cheating.

Have no issues with them getting banned but the timing of these bans baffle me. Why wait until they are perfectly established at international level and a pivotal part of their respective countries? They've been chucking most of their careers so why not put the foot down as soon as they show up in the international circuit?

Well that is whats happening now. It's obviously taking time to filter out all the established cheats but progressively people are getting tested earlier and earlier in their careers.

Would have happened to Narine sooner but he spent the best part of a year hiding from the tests.

Because there's been a new and more stringent testing procedure since 2014? Narine basically decided to hide from International Cricket since they were introduced and got fecked as soon as he was back.

Didn't know about the new procedure. Hopefully that means we get rid of the inconsistency that was around previously.

Test team of the year: David Warner, Alastair Cook (captain), Kane Williamson, Younis Khan, Steven Smith, Joe Root, Sarfraz Ahmed (wk), Stuart Broad, Trent Boult, Yasir Shah, Josh Hazlewood, R Ashwin (12th man)

ODI team of the year: Tillakaratne Dilshan, Hashim Amla, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), AB de Villiers (capt), Steven Smith, Ross Taylor, Trent Boult, Mohammed Shami, Mitchell Starc, Mustafizur Rahman, Imran Tahir, Joe Root (12th man)

Nohit should be in the ODI team over Dilshan considering the time period for consideration.

Also, overall, such mediocre players in the game today....those names are laughably average compared to even 5-7 years ago.

India hasn't played a lot ODI cricket this year. Maybe Rohit could have staked a claim. But I think that team is fair.

FFS, I just realised Ashwin is 12th man. What the actual feck, he's the leading wicket taker this year...?

TBF to Dilshan, he did have a terrfic World Cup, not sure what he's done since.

Ah, yeah, Amla then. Who's been largely a bit shit this year apart from a series against WI.

I don't think its done on calendar year, and I think Yasir's taken more in the time period. In which case, thats fair enough imo.

Yeah, Amla has been quite crap, this year.

Makes sense, think it is August to August, in which case, Ashwin hasn't be as good.

Ian Bell is gutted at missing out on both teams of the year despite being fecking shire all year.

Seems the Indian govt has refused to allow a potential series against Pakistan to go ahead. fecking politics.

 Shocker. Wish PCB had a leader who is concerned about dignity rather than revenues. ICC should also feck off with their future tours program, clear for all to see that some countries couldn't give a flying feck.

Well there is no chance India will play Pakistan till the current Indian government is in place which means at least until 2019

Ridiculous scoring from the Aussies on day 1. Kiwis not doing too bad themselves!

So Wagner's been clocked at 160km/h as well now (he's normally around low 130s).

And the Aussies are, without a shred of irony, blaming a seagull. Despite standing behind the dodgy reading for Starc (and Southee getting clocked at 150km/h in the same test).

India - Pakistan

2 very good groups for the T20 WC.

Windies having a nightmare morning session.

SL to chase this down? That declaration won't look too clever if they do manage it. One of these two (or both) have to bat way beyond tea mind you.

True but I love McCullum's aggression & belief in his team to declare when other captains would've batted for an extra 100 runs to ensure they don't lose. Plus, SL will have to bat superbly to chase this down so they'll deserve credit if they manage it.

IPL 2016 draft today. A pool of 50 players will be made available to Pune & Rajkot franchise from CSK and RR. Initially each team will get to select 5 players each from this pool, turn by turn of a player each, starting with Pune. The remaining 40 players will then go into auction.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/952165.html

Pune will opt for Dhoni probably as first choice but I would love it to be BMac. As the article says, Rajkot will probably go for Jadeja first as he is local guy. If Pune franchise puts together a good team, I will go watch few games in 2016 season.

Pune's 5 picks: Dhoni, Rahane, Ashwin, Steve Smith, Faf du Plessis
Rajkot's 5 picks: Raina, Jadeja, McCullum, Faulkner, Dwayne Bravo

Rajkot have done well with 3 very good allrounders. I personally prefer Rajkot's group of choices. Pune's not bad combination but it is batting heavy. They need to do well from auctions for other players for having a good bowling lineup.

So New Zealand have prepared the greatest of green tops for SL and then have spent all morning banging it in halfway down :S

Poor dismissal from Williamson, fell for the trap. SL with a couple of quick wickets.

From the pair of them, Latham's dismissal was soft as shit as well.

Despite being the wrong colour this is actually a really good pitch its playing nicely.
