Cricket

Rosco Taylor reminds me of Ian Bell. A daft guy that will pull out a big score once in a while and then do feck all for the next 6-7 matches.

 How on earth can the third umpire overturn that? Absolutely nothing on the hotspot and snicko.

Baz McCullum to retire from international cricket in February. Williamson will captain NZ in the WT20. Baz will finish on 101 consecutive test matches since his debut which is a record.

Fantastic player & my favourite captain of the last few years. A joy to watch when he got going.

Amir back with the Pakistan team has led to Hafeez & Azhar Ali boycotting the training camp.

I respect their opinions & appreciate they had to deal with shit as a consequence of Amir's decision to cheat, but he's served his time and deserves another chance. Plus, he's a great bowler and you choose your best players. Cannot wait to see Amir & Yasir Shah bowl in tandem

They can both feck off. ODI captain making those comments is just shocking. Should be stripped of his captaincy for refusing to attend the camp.

Would you have any problems sharing a dressing room with or playing in the same team as Mohammad Amir?

Shoaib Malik: Not at all, actually I’m fond of him and I always feel like acting like an elder brother (senior) to him when he is around, and this has been the case since he first joined the team. He is a good boy. I know you are asking me this question because of the mistake Amir made in the past or the comments a few players might have made, or probably both. They are both wrong in my opinion, but then who am I to judge? Judging is for Allah alone and He teaches me to forgive, as forgiving is a sign of Godliness and He loves forgiving.

What Amir did was wrong, and the authorities at the time decided the punishment for him. At that time there were voices asking to let him go since he was young and naive but no consideration was given to this point. I respected that. And now if the authorities feel that Mohammad Amir and Salman Butt have served their time and should be back in the team, I will also respect that.

Malik for ODI captain.

Hafeez and Azhar are both completely in the right. It shouldn't have come down to this though, the PCB has to take blame for not being certain that their players agreed with the inclusion of Amir. If they didn't then he shouldn't be there. He only has himself to blame.

Smith becomes the 3rd player to score a century in the innings, Voges will likely be the 4th. Windies should just forfeit the match.

The cameraman giving the middle finger has probably been the most exciting thing so far

Flat track bullies. Voges couldn't buy a run in testing conditions in England, now he has become one of the few batsmen to score 1000 runs in his debut test year. Averaging 600 (!) against the worst Windies side in the history of the game. Might even be the worst ever test team.

Hopefully nonsense teams like Windies and Zim lose their test status soon. Test cricket needs fresh blood. Bring in the Irish.

Yup. If not taking away test status, more teams like Ireland can be granted one. If the scheduling is problem in the event of 'too many' test teams, then they can have promotion/relegation system for test status.
Anyway Ireland is only one stand out team not having test status. So instead of complicating first up they should give test status to Ireland and see how they do. One-off tests vs few countries to start with will be good.

This test match could be the first time that a commentator wins Man Of The Match.

Bill Lawry has been so good today.

The West Indies are just so bad. Hardly even watched because there is nothing even close to a contest.

I've never been so uninterested in a test match as I am in Aus vs WI.

Just a complete waste of time.

 I was thinking this during the England series. Every half decent Pak bowler over the last 7-8 years has had their career ruined because of controversies or injuries, what would be Yasir's downfall? Well here it is.

It's pathetic really. Tbh, I'm not even surprised at this point. Disappointed as a fan when, after all the shit the team have done, players still think it's ok to cheat (assuming he actually took the illegal substance)

Yousuf and Ramiz Raja going at each other over Amir!

Sorry for those who don't understand urdu/Hindi.

Wow.. Pretty brutal attack that on Raja by Yousuf.. Any past history between these two? Isn't Ramiz Raja looked at like a legend ala Miandad??

Doubt it very much! Our Pakistani brothers can clear it further but Ramiz is no way close to Miandad! Ramiz scored 2 centuries at avg of 31 in tests. Miandad 23 at avg of 52. Miandad has to be arguably best batsman of Pak all time. If Miandad is Sachin, Ramiz is like Manjrekar (comparison suits as both are shit commentators).

I don't know of Yousuf and Ramiz Raja's previous history but in Pakistan cricket, some 'history' exists normally between any two given players :D

The irony. Two of cricket's biggest match fixers arguing about a match fixer. Only in Pakistan.

Rameez is well respected because of his commenting abilities, not his actual cricket. He was in the team Imran Khan accused of being ready to throw the final against England in 1992 - before Imran (aided by Javed) bet all Pakistan players' match fees into winning. Among other matches they probably threw in that competition. Only Imran and Miandad came out (come out) without any suspicion of treachery.

Yousaf and Inzi ran the biggest cartel in Pakistan cricketing history, producing the most dodgiest results ever seen. It was during their reign that I totally gave up on Pakistan cricket. They may ultimately have been puppets to a higher order but to me they were the faces that I was supposed to respect. Anything but.

So yeah, the irony of two match fixers insulting one another over another match fixer. Reminds me of Pakistani politics. Two of the biggest criminals Pakistan has ever seen fighting over who's corrupt. The show must go on.

 Ramiz is a cnut. The worst thing is that he is the ambassador of Pakistan Super League where Amir will be participating.

Ramiz is as much legend as Sanjay Manjrekar. Average cricketers, good English speakers. Nothing more.

Actually, wasn't Ramiz supposed to be one of the clean players of that team?

Remember reading this somewhere..

Interesting.. Never knew this.. Always thought Yousuf Youhana was one of the good guys of the pakistani team..

Ramiz is as much legend as Sanjay Manjrekar. Average cricketers, good English speakers. Nothing more.
I seem to have grossly overestimated his importance to pakistani cricket..

There're no real good guys of Pakistani cricket unfortunately. :( Even Imran Khan was known to use bottle caps, etc.

My personal favourite, Saeed Anwar (of the legend for holding the highest recorded one day individual score for many years), grew a large religious beard and then was shocked to be later implicated in match fixing himself. Shocked that he was outed, not shocked that he partook obviously.

Tim Southee with some great hitting 18 off 4 balls, makes you wonder why the put Milne ahead of him
