Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

Wants to ensure the follow-on. Remember that India haven't had a 300 innings in this series yet.

I reckon Broad and co will get something out of this pitch, so I can't see India getting anywhere near 300 in their next two innings. 550 is enough.

It's nice to see one of them up for it though

Oh no absolutely, he's fired up and passionate which is good to see, especially from an Indian in this series, but he's picking on the wrong ones, Pietersen is about five times bigger than him, Anderson will pin him to the sight screen with a good full toss.

We should declare after lunch now anyway, let's go for them, Swann's due a few wickets.

Well, yeah, 550 could be enough, they'll need 350 to avoid the follow on at this point, but they might just for once have a good innings. England really don't want to bat again if they want to win this.

I think it's highly unlikely. They've had the stuffing kicked out of them....and would rather be living it large in their lovely penthouse suites in Bombay.

I'm sure there are plenty of young indian cricketers who would have shown more spirit and fight than this pampered lot, that's for sure Spoons. But in some respect, if I had a luxury penthouse in Bombay with some nice sunshine and a few million quid, I'd be quite content.

I can't think of any potentially decent Test series over the next couple of years - aside from Bangladesh Vs Zimbos.

England Vs South Africa in 2013 maybe. Or is 2012? Can't remember.

feck sake, half time in the match and it rains at the cricket.

Our white-wash might be washed off.

Not sure, but it's raining now and Gower said he's not sure how long it will be for.

Would have been better at Old Trafford as it happens - no rain on Thursday and no sign of any so far today in this area.

BBC for what it's worth....

"We suspect there is a risk of some sort of rain falling at any time between now and tea. But there shouldn't be any more interruptions after tea, for the rest of the match. It's just this next couple of hours as The Oval is on the periphery of this block of weather."
Looks like we'll lose another session here, so a 4 day test in effect if it holds off for the next two days.

England should declare now.

I agree Weaste, for what it's worth the rain at the Emirates is a downpour, I've no idea how near the Oval is, but the rain is heavy.

I remember Anderson got clobbered to all parts during the World cup by most opposition, they just need to attack Anderson to put him off his line and length.
