I've never seen RP Singh look more thoroughly pedestrian. There isn't any criteria by which he offers more than Munaf Patel. Even when he swings the ball, he's so fecking slow that the batsman can simply adjust, after blinking a couple of times. I'm a Praveen Kumar fan, but I suppose it was worth dropping him just in the interests of trying something different. But they've taken the wrong bloke.
I really don't think Raina would get any wickets in club cricket, let alone Test cricket!

So guys, who do you think is England's best Batsman. Trott has best average, Cook scores loads and Pietersen is Pietersen but I think Bell is now number one, phenomenal record over the last couple of years.
For me it's Pietersen

As you say they all have their positives, Trott and Cook are excellent at building foundations, Pietersen can smash anyone all over on his day and Bell is a bit of a mix between the two.
Bell is a fantastic player to watch when playing well. Very elegant. Reminds me of Mark Waugh.
Bell is the most talented, Pietersen is the most exciting, and Trott is the most dependable.
Cook will break records though. I'd back him for 40 Test centuries and 10,000 runs.
