Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

Pathetic. Gutless performance.

The whole 'if Zaheer were fit' excuse is akin to United fans claiming that we'd have won in Rome if Fletcher werent suspended.

I think some of you underestimated how relentless this England team is under Strauss and flower.

They look tired. After world cup its IPL then Windies then England. Just too much cricket. Talented yes but nacketed also.

They should've set their priorities right then. Sehwag is a cnut for choosing IPL over test cricket. BCCI is a cnut for arranging the IPL so near World Cup. They're international cricketers and tired or not tired they shouldn't be getting absolutely demolished by England. BCCI are again cnuts for not giving preparation time.

We're making a mockery of ourselves right now.

India dead batting tracks just produce carthorse bowlers and front foot batsmen. Indian players only thrive in their placid conditions.

I can remember plenty of fantastic batting performances away from India but few bowling successes.

Laxman in Australia for one.

I sense a pointless Sachin 100 coming up today as we continue to crumble.

IPL had it's fun, it needs to feck off if it is getting in the way of real international cricket.

All our players love their money so much. They'll continue to put the IPL ahead of the national team.

And if Sachin gets out now you'll have a moan about him not playing in the 4th innings. Did he rape your family and set fire to your house or something?

No that would be Psmith.

Tbh it doesn't even matter if he gets out now or scores a century. This match is pretty pointless now.

Anyway, some good shots from Sachin. Shame we're falling like a pack of cards down the other end

I guess this was inevitable. England are ruthless and you can't waltz in after having a rest at home/a bit of a hit in the IPL/half-fit and beat this side. Required proper preparation and we all know how #1 priority is the IPL. Proper team England.

The Indian players look for the most part overweight and carrying injuries. Can someone tell me when is India playing next after England?

I think you Indians are over complicating things with all this blaming of the IPL and World Cup and lack of preparation etc... You just don't have any bowlers, that's the reason.

This pitch has clearly been a 250 run wicket, yet you let us get 550 in our second innings.

Yeah I guess we(Indians) were guilty of over-rating India at the start. England are a really professional outfit these days, their support staff is great and have some decent allrounders in their team.

Most of the players go straight to play in the T20 Champions League.. no, I'm not joking..

Also true..

Do England have the best bowling squad in world cricket? As an all round unit, I would say yes, barring perhaps a back-up spinner.

As of now England have the best team in the world. It might look a funny point but the thing which sets them from most teams is the ability of lower order players to get runs consistently. As I said earlier, they could've easily dropped Morgan and get in another bowler and I doubt there would've been much difference in the score.

I'd say yes. We have five players (Anderson, Broad, Tremlett, Bresnan, Finn) who can all operate as the main strike bowler and take wickets. And the premier spinner in the world too.

:wenger:

The truly remarkable thing is how proficient most of them are with the bat too.

I think people keep forgetting about SA.. they have a developing 3rd seamer now in Tsotsobe and Morkel and Steyn are unbelievable

When do SA tour England or the other way round?

Atleast we'll get some fresh blood in the third test. I know I'm moaning about BCCI a lot, but really they should've called extra players when Zaheer, Gambhir was injured but they didn't.

Yeah but the thing is England's batting depth is incredible. I've never seen it like this before.

Onions too, who was excellent before his injury.

I haven't forgotten Monty. don't worry! However, it would be interesting to see how he fares in Test cricket after his move from Northants. I hope it has done him good.

Marais Erasmus.. the only performance worse than the Indian team in this match
