Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

That was needed. Just continue to bowl the same way. Instead we get a barrage of needless short bowls, defensive field setting, Sreesanth losing control.

Unless weathers intervenes I definitely see a result on this pitch. We too will really struggle against England's pacers. Going to be a close one, this.

Was a bit typical of us though. Been an age old problem.

Come on, less than 250 please!

Just watch Jimmy Anderson survive for the next hour. Will be so fecking typical of us.

Loads. For me he's proven himself to be a great leader of men over the years. This generations best captain for me. Some captains have that winning touch and he does. He knows how to get the best out of his players and how to give them confidence and faith.

Easy to do with

Tendulkar
Dravid
Laxman
Sehwag

and a whole host of others to sort you out.

Bit like Australia with Ponting, given the captaincy, did great, but as soon as the stalwarts retired, the team and his captaincy fell apart. I'd like to see Dhoni in the post dream team era, to get a true measure of his captaincy.

-England make it to 200, a 130-140ish score would have meant India completely on top.

*My prediction for the series was 1-1 btw, but I had Lords down as a draw

All true but tactically he's a wanker. I've seen him do this an infinite number of times.. annoying shit

Depending on the weather I might take 30 runs less for more time this evening to get some quick wickets.

Retarded captaincy. I think I'm going to meltdown.

Yes but would you take 30 runs less and maybe two or three cheap wickets tonight?

Well yeah, but those wickets are far from guaranteed. I'd take 30 runs over an extra 20-30 mins tonight.

edit: all out. Let's see what damage we can do now. Brilliant knock by Broad there, proved critics wrong with bat and ball so far this series.

Harbhajan took a wicket?

He really has proven people wrong. I thought he should have been dropped for the first test tbh.

I still disagree. We've been a strong side but he's made us mentally really tough. He has the same effect wherever he goes. He has already achieved the following as captain:

T20 World Cup
ICC Cricket World Cup
Test no.1 ranking
Back to back IPLs'

While I detest 20 overs cricket, his success in every format just goes to show how he seems to bring the best out of his teams. And lets be honest here, we're nowhere near that Australian team that almost ran in autopilot mode and bashed teams for fun. We're good but not that good, and at times I feel we've won matches through sheer will and grit. That's where Dhoni the leader comes in. He's a fantastic leader of men IMO.

Where has Dravid been for the last two years?

And he needed the batsman to throw the wicket away rather than any great bit of bowling. When I saw your thread titled 'players living off past reputations' I thought you were referring to him. It's shocking that he hasn't ever been dropped from the team over the last God knows how many years.

I love how Wasim Akram keeps getting everyones names wrong

Keeps calling Sreesaanth Srinath and just called Jimmy Anderson Jaimie Anderson.

This going to be great session for Cricket.

Hurrah!

Queue our subcontinent contingent running around in a panic!

You wish.

I expect us to get out for less than hundred. Set your expectations low, the only way then is up (or down).
