Cricket:India's tour of England 2011

You should really have skittled us out for 120 from where we were... vital runs these.

Don't know why we're persisting ATM with Sreesanth and Harbhajan. Need to get some discipline.

 Harbhajan. One of the worst attempts at stopping a ball I've ever seen.

Okay, maybe more than 200 the way it's going. Bowling the wrong bowers IMO.

It was never going to be that easy, you have a long batting line-up. I actually thought that England would have shown more resilience when they were 6 down but you're sort of making up for it now.

Bizarre spell of cricket this. Why is Sreesanth bowling bouncers when it's a pitch which is providing so much movement?

This is so frustrating really, we need someone who can bowl yorkers or get the fecking tail out.

I'm baffled by this spell of cricket. Harbhajan who hasn't looked like getting a wicket for ages or containing the batsman is bowling when the advantage is slipping away.

Rarely do I question Dhoni's captaincy but this is just odd.

We just need discipline. The pitch will do the rest. Instead we have Harbhajan who is impotent and Sreesanth who is always expensive.

Praveen on. We need to get our line and length back. Enough of this experimental line and length.

Vital runs these. Didn't get to watch any of the action before tea, so I'm congratulating myself on turning our fortunes. 220+ would be amazing, either of these two could easily lose their wicket at any point though, they've ridden their luck as it is but deserved this 50 partnership.

Men on the boundaries, easy singles. I honestly can't get my head around this spell of cricket. Some very odd captaincy from Dhoni.

Momentum with England at the moment, poor bowling from India and fielding is lacklustre. Good aggressive batting by Swann & Broad.

Idiotic captaincy from Dhoni.

I'd love to know what our bowlers had for tea. Shocking session so far.

Idiotic captaincy from Dhoni.

Yup. Very surprising. He's normally the kind of person who likes to go for the kill. We just sat back and opened the field up and bowled bowlers who do go for easy runs.

Being harsh on Broad and Swann, they've seized the impetus from the bowlers rather than having it given to them.

I don't think it's been handed to them. They've done superbly. I think our reaction to it has been very poor though. I give Broad and Swann as much credit as I criticize us on this one.

Really? I've always seen Dhoni as a safety 1st captain, he's had some huge declarations in his time...not giving the opposition a realistic chance at chasing a total.

He is a successful captain no doubt, and India under him have won a lot, but I'm not how much credit he should deserve for that.

Do India know these runs count as much as they did for the openers? They barely seem to give a crap about picking up these wickets.

Its 180 for 8 & the Indian supporters are panicking....

Who is panicking? At the start of the day I would have been delighted with this current score, as I was hoping initially to get England out for under 250 or even 300. We were never going to have it all our own way, what we did to the openers and middle order of England was superb regardless.

Noone's actually panicking if you can read properly. But the captaincy and bowling post tea has been woeful.

tbf you guys are running round like headless chickens at the moment & its amusing to watch...

If you'd been offered 190 for 8 by 4.40pm, at 11am this morning, would you have taken it?

The tail is wagging, it happens a lot, especially when England suffer one of their well known collapses...

What kind of question is that? Anyone would have taken it..

Another crucial toss to win, but this time the Indian bowlers have made full use of the conditions. Difficult to see anything but an India win now as I suspect batting will get much easier after day 1 or so (although Trent Bridge always gives the swing bowlers a chance). There were one or two soft dismissals but in general most wickets came from getting out balls. Fantastic bowling by India!

oops... another bit of reversed mockers by me! Funny how quickly things can change. But I suspect India will still have a big first innings lead.

This is hardly a tail though, these are 2 very good batsmen, our tail today is Jimmy Anderson in length.

Of course. Heck I would have taken 250 all out.

But if misconceptions amuse you then please carry on!

Loads. For me he's proven himself to be a great leader of men over the years. This generations best captain for me. Some captains have that winning touch and he does. He knows how to get the best out of his players and how to give them confidence and faith.

Broad and Swann has batted excellently. But suddenly our lines have changed, Sharma is bowling nonsensical short bowls, Dhoni has suddenly gone on a defensive mode. It's fecking frustrating to watch.

Btw, why is Dhoni setting his field as though it's a 20/20 match? Keep the fielders in close you coward!
