Cop in America doing a bad job, again

Yup it is bizarre. I'm sure there must be another side to the story, but whatever that may be, it certainly does not justify what the police officer did.
He fancied her but is to old to pull her hair and run away. This is a fecking dumb wit way of telling her he liked her.

I thought every decision made by the cops up until the killing was reasonable.
Pretty much if they chased him and apprehended him. But no, they shot him twice in the back. It's also mentioned here about the lying on police reports so I was pointing out the difference between "multiple acts of violence" and "aggressive actions" to one of our resident coppers. Language matters.

When I was watching the video, I was thinking about how that would have panned out in the UK. If the two police officers hadn't been able to detain him after he got hold of the taser, he'd have run away. At that point, the police would have alerted their control centre, other cars would have been mobilised and there would have been a search. A drunk man on foot isn't going to get far - the main concern would have been the fact that he had a taser, but I doubt he'd have been aiming it at members of the public.

He'd have eventually been arrested and it would probably all have been a fairly small incident. Armed police are the difference.

And this is the way it should have happened. At that point without his car, he was hardly going to cause any significant damage to anyone. Just call in some backup, apprehend him, and charge him for whatever additional crimes took place.

Instead we now have a dead man. The way that human life has been cheapened in the US sickens me to my core. The way people debate about whether the police officer was justified or not, we aren’t talking about some property damage here, a life was lost.

I don't understand..... you're saying none of their actions were reasonable because of the outcome?

Have you viewed the videos that @Suedesi posted?

Interesting, it seems like cops are starting to feel persecuted right now. Due to the actions of a few... Hmm.

I'm here thinking... This is how it feels to be us. As a general sentiment, maybe, just maybe, proactively try and clean your house?

Still... Between not getting your McDonald's on time and being shot in the back? I know what I'd choose...

If this is her reaction to bad service at a McDonalds then take away her badge & side-arm immediately.

She should go full Karen & just ask to speak to the manager.

Guess we’re in the age of the persecution olympics, bad service at a McDonalds doesn’t podium unfortunately.

She's having a crisis over having to wait for a fecking McDonalds? Oh well, at least she's alive to tell the tale.

The outrage at the treatment for being a a cop and feeling persecuted when they're been dishing it our for years with impunity. You have to laugh really.

We'll be seeing police strikes and marches next.

*Unsure if posted but definitely a good read

The police system is broken, defunding is a solid option.

One of the tweets:

The officer laughed then asked my friends to blow and when one of them came up sober enough to drive, he let me move to the passenger seat of my car and go home with just a verbal warning.

Like I said a few days ago, there are instances where cops let people go with just a warning or a fine, even when they blatantly break the law.

I don't know... Full Karen could end being "Shots fired!" Inevitably with a cafe poster claiming "good shoot"....

But of course...
It's what I meant by "depressing" when I noticed that all of the police that post in here would not concede that point. @choiboyx012's point about liability was fair but then that just highlights another area that needs to be looked at...

Choiboy was the only one who spoke with respect and patience, and I agree the liability aspect made sense if there's a way that the suspect could be traced back to the individual police officer's actions. However, that would require the police to do an objective & transparent investigation that holds their officers accountable, and admits liability on their part. I wouldn't hold my breath quite frankly.

But yeah, anyway all of this is depressing.

Oh. My. God.

I don’t know what’s worse, her losing her shit over her McMuffin taking a while in the breakfast rush or the number of people responding to the video treating her as a true victim and how the police need support.

She should not be allowed to carry a gun.

This brought back that horrible incident when the copper went in to the wrong apartment and she shot that guy for being an intruder.

Just reported on CNN a few moments ago...

Underage drinking probably. Lots of resorts in the US have a problem with kids getting drunk on the beach.
Ah right, I forget that some times coming from a country where you can buy beer and wine at 16.

An adult can get in trouble for giving a minor alcohol. I'm not sure what happens if you give it to a 20 year old since a minor is normally under 18 but the drinking age is 21.

Here I think both the kid/parents and the place they've bought alcohol will be fined to various degrees if the kid is found to be underage.
Bars might get their license revoked (the age limit at bars is always 18, I might add).

The age limit in the US is ridiculous. Land of the free eh!
