Cop in America doing a bad job, again

I know I’m in the minority but I feel sorry for the Policeman, I think Rayshard got what he deserved taking and firing a taser at a policeman.
If you have a gun and someone shoots a taser at you, what would you do? I’m shooting the cnut

i) The taser had already been shot, meaning it needed reholstering/recharging to be used again.

ii) See point ‘i’, the policeman wasn’t returning fire as he couldn’t be tazed.

iii)

This is going to take a lot of effort and lot of walking back on their behalf. Especially since they have officially filed the report.

Yep fully agree, unfortunately it won't be the first or last murder that the police deem to be acceptable.

Would it change your mind if you learned the officer who shot him has been charged and could face the death penalty ?

One of the tweets:

Like I said a few days ago, there are instances where cops let people go with just a warning or a fine, even when they blatantly break the law.
Absolutely. I've seen it mentioned before of people being let go and/or being escorted home for similar incidents to Brooks.

So I'm guessing the strict application of the law that was being touted in here is only meted out to people of colour. Nice.

You'd be led to believe that it literally never happens based on the reactions in here.

What the actual feck!

Seriously, how can you be ‘trained’ yet be so weak willed & scared that any move makes you pull the trigger.

These videos are too plentiful to say there aren’t systemic issues with law enforcement!

Who the hells calling cops on a homeless man anyway!

I don't know. Maybe he had been harrasing people and carrying a gun, otherwise why would a Swat team show up. Their response to the situation is insane though. He was just lying there sleeping.

No, I stand by what I said. I believe if you break the law you get what you deserve.

Trying to taser an armed officer you are asking for it

Surely the SWAT team members could've covered all basis around this particular individual ?
I mean,f*ck,there's enough of them to have dealt with this situation with far more sense.
They acted like a god damn firing squad.

I'm guessing how the Gardaí (Irish police) would handle that situation and it would probably be a nudge with a boot and saying "C'mon, up ya get. Move along."

But it's literally Call of Duty over there. It's genuinely psychotic.

Is losing your life really what he deserved in that situation? I accept there are consequences for your actions, but surely consequence has to be proportional...

True, I’m just at a loss with the place.

If you really don’t like someone over there & they’re homeless, black - so on, all you need do is call the police & weaponise them against them.

Just because a call is made saying someone is a threat that’s no excuse to kick the door in all guns blazing - they didn’t even have a door to kick on this occasion, as you say he was just waking up.

This post sickens me. Your lack of compassion and apparent disregard for the value of human life is disgusting.

What the actual. I’m speechless. Ok this is just heartbreaking and sick. He’s a fecking homeless man for god sake. What’s he gonna do? Pull out an Uzi? I cannot comprehend what I just watched.

This is a reality for homeless people in many cities. Especially in cities like SF, LA, Portland, NY. Blue cities run by mayors who are staunch democrats. Make of that what you will.

Based on one of the videos Suedesi posted earlier I'm guessing homeless person vs police is a regular occurrence...

WTF!! How do you even justify that? Anyone know what happened to these cnuts? If anything. Sickening! Don’t know how anyone could see that video and view it as anything other than straight up murder.

That's why you try to find out more about it. According to the police in Albuquerque he had a pistol style BB gun in his waistband and was reaching for it. But I agree it presents badly and they should have approached it with an absence of military precision.

Fecking load of bollocks! Team of cops armed to the teeth could’ve easily surrounded the guy and dealt with him without force. He was laying down at the start unaware they were even there, posing no threat to anyone. Just looks like a bunch of cnuts with itchy trigger fingers intent on provoking the guy into a reaction to justify shooting him.

If American police were bartenders in Dublin they would be in a mental home or serial killers. I've never seen a group of people who have all the advantages and training available to deal with minor situations be so afraid of their lives. They are either too cowardly for their job or they are lying to cover up their fecked up urges to assault and bend people to their will.

Yeah I mentioned that above with the kill squad comment. Like Shane alluded a different approach would likely have had a more positive outcome.

Like Tamir Rice, these guys seemed to be going completely off the details from a call. Doesn't look like they took much time to observe him. Engagement was aggressive. Straight to the standoff, no attempt at of personal engagement. No demonstrable understanding of how a person intent on actually shooting people would act. A real shitshow.

I would say they could have de-escalated it. They could have cufffed him when he was sleeping or something like that.

Deadly weapons = Tazers, BB Guns, Toy Guns, Swearwords, etc. Punishable by death....
