Ole is lucky we played them before the sack. With Conte and a new manager bounce tingz, Spurs might be able to compete with top four. Levy made the right decision to sack nuno as early as he did. It will only show how more incompetent our board is if spurs finishes above us in the table with this decision.

Spurs fans feeling surprisingly cautious.
Only so far you can build. People were blinkered to deny Klopp would improve them so much, though they went beyond what many expected anyway. Klopp was always a fantastic coach, and Liverpool was always a massive club that had the financial potential. Spurs don't have that financial potential, and Conte isn't Klopp. Conte will improve them but I think he'll use Spurs to improve his own reputation which is clearly so damaged for some reason that United didn't want him (because we're idiots, but anyway), and then he'll look to move on probably. Individually he's a very good manager, but he's probably in the 3rd tier of managers in the world (tier 1 being just klopp and Pep, tier 2 being Nagelsmann/Flick/Tuchel etc). Which is still really good, but in the prem he's competing with the top 3 current coaches in world football pretty much, who happen to be in charge of clubs with far greater financial power than the one he has. At United, he likely could shrink that gap because of our financial power. He can't really do that at Spurs IMO, so their limit with Pep and Klopp in the league is being dark horses for the league but always underdogs, rather than the favourites or the best side.

I would also add that Spurs are really no better off right now than Liverpool were when Klopp took over. Liverpool had finished 6th on 62 points the year before and had a rough start with 12 points from 8 fixtures. Spurs finished 7th last year on 62 points and have had a rough start with 15 points from 10 fixtures. Liverpool were two years removed from a team that almost won the PL, Spurs three years removed from a team that almost won the CL.
The big difference is that the Liverpool hierarchy knew the squad needed a big rebuild and brought Klopp in with that longer term vision in mind (which took 3 years) whereas the Spurs hierarchy remain fixated on the misguided notion that the roster is good enough and that its a matter of finding the magical manager that can unlock its potential.

Yet you'll still see people saying you can't be a proper supporter if you want your team to lose.
Nonsense quite frankly. One loss is a very small price to pay for getting rid of an inept manager and hiring a world class manager.

We all want Ole gone. But most people don't want this guy and his terrible negative defensive crap. We've had enough of that under Mourinho. And at the moment we are watching some of the worst football ever.
What I want is attractive attacking football for a change. Ten Hag as manager and VDS as director are the perfect duo. It's amazing what they are doing at Ajax. I have wet dreams imagining what Ten Hag could do with this group of players. I also think Sancho is tailor made for his style of play.

We practically played with 2 defenders when we had teams pinned back with Evra and Rafael running up the wings and only had Rio and Vidic back.
It's a defensive formation with 5 defenders in the staring lineup and a straight line of back 5 when the other team has the ball.

Azpi and Cahill often joined the attack whenever they could especially the former, I was often panicking at times because we were one stray ball a way from seeing 2 or 3 on 1's against Luiz (there was one time against United in the cup we got caught and Rashford got clean through but thankfully Courtois saved).
Similar with our team now, the system allows tactical advantages that you simply won't be able to have in a back four. For example Rudiger's marauding runs forward and James/Chilwell playing almost as a pair of number 10s in possesion.

It was leaked to the media that the reason why the United board didn’t move the needle was because they didn’t want to payout Ole and then make financial promises to Conte. Concerns about his attitudes were hogwash.
Anyway, Conte and Levy together in one room is a ticking time bomb. The timer has just started.

Do what? Yeah he’s only won the french league, but it we’re calling the Champions League just a cup then everything I thought I knew about football is lost anyway, which wasn’t much to begin with!
Of course. The owners are always about the money, not the fans. For the fans the decision is easy to arrive at after experiencing 3 years under Ole. For our owners, it is economics.
Bringing on someone like Conte would be lighting a fire under their own backsides. Why would they want to do that? Ole is the perfect candidate who always tows the company line. This is the highest level he is ever going to manage at so he doesn't want to rattle the cage. Conte on the other hand will demand higher standards, more decisiveness in the market, and much more.
Kudos to Spurs for continuing to pursue him and get him in the end. He is going to bring them back into the contention for top 4 places.
Looks like he's going to bring Kessie to Spurs too, so we lose out on a better manager and also a better midfielder than we currently have...depressing!
And a better stadium. We can laugh all we want but their stadium is the best in the EPL right now and it will provide dividends in the long run. Granted that they gave up short-term success and leveraged themselves at the worst possible time but Levy isn't a soothsayer and couldn't have predicted covid.
Our stadium on the other hand has been is a state of disrepair.
Tuchel has a good record in the CL but it's not very normal. He has 1 final in a freak covid season with one-off ties at neutral grounds, and another final and win with a team he took over halfway through the season. It's not really the same as Conte having a quite long history in league competition, winning multiple titles in various leagues.
I would be much more surprised if Conte never wins a league title again than if Tuchel never reaches another CL final.
