Conor McGregor vs Floyd Mayweather | Again?

Lasting a couple of rounds isn't a win for him, ffs. He has said over and over and over that he's going to destroy Mayweather. Knock him out. Easily.

Floyd never said he would. That's the difference

Of course it is mate he's never had a professional boxing fight and he's fighting arguably the best boxer of all time in his boxing debut.

Whatever Conor's said is irrelevant he's trying to sell a fight. You are putting way too much stock into what two guys are saying to sell a fight mate. People with sense know McGregor isn't a boxer and is highly unlikely to win. For him to last a few rounds with a fighter like Mayweather will be an achievement.

By the way not that it matters but i seem to remember Mayweather did actually see he could kick his ass in the octagon in one of the press conferences.

A fan made it to the second round with Roy Jones. If Conor goes the distance I'll be impressed.

Selling the fight. ;)

Mayweather isn't arguably the best boxer of all-time. Not a chance.

Also, he isn't a killer. His fights always go the full route and no matter who he's fighting he always coasts and doesn't get aggressive. He is very happy with W12, almost more than a KO. It's very possible, actually likely he will carry Conor the 12. It's not the duration of the bout that will determine if Conor gets a "win", it's how competitive he is. If he loses 12-0 and barely lands a punch it's an awful result especially given his talk. Hype or not.

Well thats what arguably means mate, you are arguing the fact. Personally i dont think hes the best ever but loads of people do.

Yeah Mayweather often goes the distance against boxers, he's fighting a guy with zero boxing matches under his belt.

Excellent article here. There's a reason why every Irish person is not so enamoured with McGregor:

Yep, it's a good piece.

Mind you, it's hardly surprising to see MacKenna take a critical line on McGregor given he has previously said that he doesn't consider MMA a sport and was suggesting Dustin Poirier took a dive when McGregor beat him back in 2014. Pretty sure he also got into some twitter spat with John Kavanagh around then too. He and Miguel Delaney seem to regularly get embroiled in arguments with the horde of McGregor twitter drones.

Delaney comes across as a right gobshite when it comes to MMA. It's not the Conor drones as you put it. But anyone who enjoys the sport, myself included finds Delaney's views fairly insulting. It's my number two sport after footy and I hate to see it put down like he does

The closer it gets the more I think it's gonna happen, and more than likely my heart ruling my head, but McGregor is gonna do it !!!

Frankly between the likes of Delaney/MacKenna on the one end and the obsessive McGregor acolytes on the other I generally find it best to avoid McGregor discussions on twitter.

If every Irish person was enamoured with any Irish sports person or athlete I'd start thinking there was something seriously wrong.

McGregor has some very annoying followers and equally annoying detractors as well. I'd lob you into the latter.

Literally nothing to lose for McGregor, if he wins he's a legend, if he loses he can just say 'if this was in the Octagon...'. Either way he's set for life. I really dislike the ultra-heel anti-PC anti-hero thing he's doing and some of the stuff he's said has really put me off him, but everyone in the promotion game knows that it's all about getting people to pay the PPV.

Honestly the best bit of the build-up has been Floyd Sr calling him Conor McGregory.

Will be funny if he comes in at like 158.

So weird.

Conor showing a lot of false confidence here imo. You can tell the difference between his UFC weigh-ins and this. Trying too hard here.

Floyd stuck on his trainers with lifts so he's not dwarfed in the pics lol

McGregor is a caricature of his own bravado. He's in trouble, looks nervous, and he should be. He's somehow found himself in a boxing ring with the greatest boxer of his generation (having never had a professional bout in his life).

Conor always acts like this during weigh ins
