Nah he was showing a lot of false confidence imo. In his UFC weigh-ins he oozes with confidence but tonight he looked nervous and unsure to me.
Because he's done quite a big weight cut to hit 154. By the time the fight starts he should be back to near 170. I think he was around 168 for the Diaz fights.

All of his screaming gifs that pollute the internet comes from his weigh ins. He's always screaming in his opponents faces, I honestly don't see a difference.

A totally noob question here, if the fighter's weigh can change so much from the weigh-in to the actual fight, what's the point ?

Again I don't want to be seen thinking Conor will win this. But I wholeheartedly believe he is supremely relaxed and confident and he really, really believes he can win this
A handicap he agreed to. This fight only happens under boxing rules. Don't feel bad for him, he'll never have to fight again.

The point is different divisions have different weight restrictions so there has to be a limit for each division. The only exception is heavyweight, which has more leeway.
A huge weight cut isn't great for them even if they make weight. Whilst they can rehydrate and put on more weight it just shows they've struggled to actually get there and it can serve as a disadvantage as they won't be 100% compared to someone who is pretty easily making weight.
My complete armchair look st Conor today was that he looked a bit more cut than usual at that weight, he used to look awful when he was making 145 but he looked fine vs Alvarez...I think looking at him today it was a tough cut

Still don't believe it. My brother in law met and took a pic with Pacquaio and he's 5'5 at best. There wasn't that much of a difference between Floyd and Pacman.
Hell I still remember his barefoot weigh-in v ODLH and he looked half a foot smaller!

Its not uncommon for fighters to put on 15 lbs of primarily water weight after the weigh-in. Obviously it all balances out since both fighters are doing it. But yeah, they wind up in what are different weight classes, but that's ignored. Its what you weigh in as that counts as your weight class.
All of the build up I've seen gives McGregor a one inch height advantage and a two inch reach advantage. Unless they're all getting it from the same wrong source.....

Yeah he'll be well compensated I imagine. Still if it is a show supposed to pit two of the greatest modern fighters against eachother it isn't logical for one of the fighters to be limited to about 20% of his repertoire. I can see the logic in grappling being excluded, but give us some elbows and knees.

Definitely. Will be interesting to see how he is tomorrow, but I sense it won't go well for him (which would be a "good showing"). I don't see him getting knocked out, but he could easily be stopped. In my mind the fight will play out with McGregor getting frustrated chasing shadows as Floyd counters and lands every other punch.
People were having a hard time saying who was faster (McGregor or Mayweather). To my mind it's not even a contest. Mayweather is mentally and physically the faster man. He's small, awkward and smart. McGregor doesn't have a boxer's physique (he's not a boxer, so that makes sense).
I get the sense that he believed that all throughout the build up, but now I'm sensing the occasion is dawning on him. We'll see tomorrow.
