Yep. The UFC are tripping over themselves to spread all sorts of propaganda suggesting Conor has a chance, as they know they have to create the perception he may shock the world in order to get sufficient PPV buys.
The money belt is on the line this weekend...I think that guarantees entry into next years royal rumble.
They should change it to a ladder match, it would make it more interesting

I'm not sure what I'm doing for it, was going to wake up like yourself or just get up the next day and not look at my phone etc and watch like it's live. I'm at the match Saturday though so if had a few beers might convince myself to stay up the extra 12 hours and watch it...
Yeah it's a hard one to call. I mean obviously anyone on the wrong day can get knocked out, but disregarding that.
First I think first McGregor can take a punch, and i can't see Mayweather having the power or the forward thinking aggression to knock him clean out, so i agree there.
But the stoppage is harder to call... Mayweather definitely has the edge on the technical side, so if it goes in his favour he'll be landing a lot of hits over the rounds. The hard bit to judge is how that will stack up, and how McGregors fitness lasts.
I think he'll be fitter than people think, there'll be more rest time than in UFC, and shorter rounds. Plus the ground game i'm guessing takes more out of a person than people think, so if he plays it right he'll have more time to rest on his feet with grabbing and the like.
But, this is where the mystery kicks in... if McGregor manages to handle himself well and fight tactically... he'll stay on his feet... if not he'll get dominated and yeah possible stoppage. So basically, who knows, cos McGregor is such an unknown in terms of boxing
If i were to guess, i'd say he'll stay on his feet. He's tough, i think he won't gas out, and i don't think Mayweather will look for a stoppage, only to win every round on points and embarrass him. If Mayweather goes forward, he'll be walking into the unknown... so he won't.
I have big bets on Mayweather TKO and under 9.5 rounds. Placed them when the lines were released so evens and 11/10 respectively. Also have Mayweather to win as the last leg of a few accumulators producing pretty nice payouts.

I think the Ref will learn towards a stoppage if McGregor just becomes a punching bag after round 5. You bets are solid. The show will be over for McGregor and he'll probably be happy for the "early stoppage" so he can say that he was just getting warmed up or some wise ass remark.
I agree McGregor can take a punch and take damage he quite obviously can. The problem isn't really damage he could take it's volume of punches. He's never fought anyone who will deliver with the speed and accuracy of Mayweather. That's what will end up tiring him out for me and will end up causing a stoppage. There's other factors as well such as frustration if he is unable to land etc which is highly possible. I like the guy and I admire his confidence, it does make you believe it's possible but that's what happens with plenty of Mayweather's fights then he always goes on to win.

I'm not sure I agree with those who claim McGregor can take a punch. We've not seen enough evidence of that yet. Diaz, in both fights, rocked him numerous times with punches and slaps alike. He will be stunned by the speed and precision of Mayweather, and particularly his counter-hooks when McGregor thinks he sees an opening.
He simply will not see them coming, just like Hatton, Gatti, Canelo, De La Hoya, Mosley and Marquez, to name a few, before him.

I think the "he can take a punch" stuff does have merit as he can clearly take a punch to the face as well as kicks etc. I agree though with the rest of the sentiment it's the precision and crispness of the punches that will be the downfall. He might claim he's not hurt at the end of it gets stopped like boxers have in the past but it will be for his own good if it goes the way I expect it to go.
So what are the best bets out there for this fight?

Mayweather keeps saying he'll take it to McGregor and fight aggressively... if he does there's totally a chance of him getting knocked out by McGregor! That's why i don't think there's a chance in hell he would haha, he ain't stupid!

Naturally I'd say Connor is the faster guy and what makes it intresting is will his style of fighting cause issues for Floyd.
If he goes in there Point Karate style and uses his speed of footwork and range over Floyd then Floyd will have to go after him which is what makes the fight intresting as it'll force Floyd in to Mcgregors world of counter punching other than Floyd forcing McGregor.
The Lomachenko vs Dillanshaw spring full vid was intresting because for a good few rounds Dillanshaw was striking but was out of Lomachenko's range(boxing range) after a few rounds Lomachenko adjusted and had to hunt Dillanshaw down and close off the ring and back him up to get at him which he eventually did and then it really started to show. However McGregor is bigger, stronger and I'd say faster with better footwork.

McGregor definitely doesn't have better footwork than Mayweather, especially in a boxing context.
I would have thought the clinch is the area McGregor is most likely to feel comfortable.
I think you'll be fine betting on a Mayweather stoppage. As @Steve the Red said the referee is aware that McGregor is an 0-0 boxer and I don't see a professional referee letting him become a punching bag.
Only doubts I have on a Mayweather stoppage is if Mayweather decides to carry McGregor for 12 rounds but I don't see Floyd ruining his legacy like that. He knows his reputation is at stake on Saturday and if he still wants to call himself TBE he needs to stop McGregor. The longer the fight goes the more people will laugh at him. It's his last fight he should be looking for a grand finish to his great career.

I quite liked when Mayweather was telling the guy to shut up on his team and then Conor joined in...like they're mates for a second! Also good seeing Dana squirm at the thought of Conor wanting more of a stakeholder role in businesses and probably knowing he can now demand what he wants.
I've always felt that the owners of UFC will eventually push Dana out and bring Conor in, in some capacity. He's far better at promoting than Dana is. Dana's style is better suited for the early days of the Fertitia/UFC era, whereas Conor is far better in the present. If the new owners are smart, they will find a way to gradually transition Conor into their leadership structure.
Yeah I think they'll want him to stick around. Even when he's not fighting it's the star factor they'll be desperate to keep hold of. I think he could probably do a better job than Dana of building up the fighters as well, Dana is good when given something to work with but he seems to spend more and more time shitting on them all now than building them up.
