Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

Best news of the season.

Hope they don't mess around too much getting the replacement. Need to identify and secure transfer targets as a matter of priority in the close season.

Get the new man in (Klopp obviously), back him heavily, and forget this abortion of a season ever occurred.

Klopp will be at Barca eventually. We'll go low profile/ex player next I reckon.

Poll results so far from MEN.
6% for queiroz... Bloody hell bebe must be doing a lot of voting

I would rather they announce it on the day Liverpool win the title along with the retirement of Ryan Giggs and some new record breaking sponsorship deal.

Can't wait that long. Action needed to be taken immediately.

I'd agree if they were exclusively his sources. It would appear that all the press were briefed at the same time. Maybe I just want this to be a true too much.

Press get briefed privately by people at the club who remain protected sources. That's the point of press briefings rather than announcements or conferences. He's not going to announce who said it live on the radio.

Barclay says the club's silence is deafening and we all know what that means.

“The job is to win football matches,” Moyes told United’s website after the Everton loss. “There is a lot talked about style, but it’s more important to win, and we didn’t do that.”

That's Moyes' problem right there.

Winning without a meaningful style is good luck, winning with style is on purpose.

He was too focused on results and left philosophy at the front door.
Bit rich to talk about winning in style when he's not even winning.

I must admit, mate, I'm disappointed (if these rumours prove to be correct). However, this season has been a major disappointment, no two ways about it.

I'm as annoyed with the players more so than anything at present. We fork out serious money to watch them play and some of them just piss about because they don't fancy the manager. Well, I'm sorry, but that just isn't good enough.

As I've said before, I wanted Klopp last summer but grew to respect Moyes and saw potential in what he was trying to achieve here. As I've also said as well: the best job in football management wasn't to follow Ferguson, it was to follow the man who succeeded him. It may well prove that way, unfortunately for Moyes.

Succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson was a wonderful, wonderful opportunity, let's not pretend otherwise. Moyes has been given that opportunity and just pissed it down the pan with utter negativity and complaint after complaint. As you rightly imply, though, the next manager will be coming into a great job.

Re the share price, surely it's a great buy now. It'll rocket after the announcement.
Wouldn't be so sure. There might be marginal gains imo, no more. Don't be surprised if there is a marginal drop either. The sacking and hiring of a new manager and presumably new backroom staff as well won't come cheap.

I don't expect a name, I just thought he might confirm him and others were briefed and that it came directly from the club. I see your point though.

No chance, we went the "low profile" route with Moyes, and we saw how that turned out. We need a big name that brings respect and a modern attitude. An ex player like Keane or Solskjaer will just leave us in the same position we are in now.

Paddy Barclay has never said anything worth listening to in his life.
I liked when he denied ever being unconvinced by De Gea, even when his own words were put in front of him.

Barclay is profoundly retarded.

Well see. One thing worth mentioning is that Klopp isn't actually suited to Barcelona, unless they change their philosophy of football.

He's much more suited to the romantic notion most people have of United's football, high intensity 'rock n roll' football as Klopp would call it.
