I remember when Pochettino was a greasy, long haired Argentinian defender. Now he's the up and coming, respectable looking young manager who has an exciting young English-centric team under him. Not saying I want Simeone, but how things change.

Moyes is probably reading all of this right now on his various iPads within THE BUNKER

We can't even sack someone properly these days. It has to be a fecking mess. Someone is leaking information to selected journos and it really bothers me.
It's been a long time since we had to sack a manager, we're rusty. The next time it will be slicker, more professional.

If Moyes goes then i hope the next manager will want the 200 million pounds worth of players that United have been negotiating with all season?

Fergie announced his retirement on a Wednesday.

That was a special case with us having a home game later on and it being Fergie's farewell. We couldn't possibly have waited until friday.

Since then whenever possible we've announced it on a friday/sat. The Rooney and Mata deals come to mind.

Best news of the season.

Hope they don't mess around too much getting the replacement. Need to identify and secure transfer targets as a matter of priority in the close season.

Get the new man in (Klopp obviously), back him heavily, and forget this abortion of a season ever occurred.

We announced his appointment during trading hours, why not the sacking? Seems like an often regurgitated but never substantiated 'fact'.

What? People get their hair cut?

Moyes would have won the treble had he grown his barnet in the years leading up to his appointment and sacrificed it to the footballing gods last May.

I so hope there was a clause for top 4, I don't want Moyes to walk away with £30m compensation, I want him to walk away empty handed. He has already cost us enough !

Is this football's worst kept secret? I'd hate for Moyes to realise his faith by reading news reports.
There must be some truth in there being a clause in his contract about missing out on a top four finish, something performance related. He will have had a long time to know his fate.

His appointment would have been announced to the stock before trading hours and then made public later on. They can't announce his sacking until the market is closed.

“The job is to win football matches,” Moyes told United’s website after the Everton loss. “There is a lot talked about style, but it’s more important to win, and we didn’t do that.”

That's Moyes' problem right there.

Winning without a meaningful style is good luck, winning with style is on purpose.

He was too focused on results and left philosophy at the front door.

Ladyman going on Talk Sport with Collymore to discuss Moyes. He has written about it so will hopefully say if the press were briefed and by whom.

Yeah but winning in any fashion would have been a good start.

https://www.google.com/finance?q=NYSE:Man Utd&ei=OkVVU4DMOsn6wAOYxQE This is the share price for United today. It dropped heavily at 1pm GMT, but since the announcement, funnily enough at 3pm the price has been climbing up again. I wouldn't read into today's prices, it will be tomorrow that would truly be affected by the official announcement.

 Yeah I fully expect him to give away all his sources.

Re the share price, surely it's a great buy now. It'll rocket after the announcement.

Suicide watch for @nahealai

I must admit, mate, I'm disappointed (if these rumours prove to be correct). However, this season has been a major disappointment, no two ways about it.

I'm as annoyed with the players more so than anything at present. We fork out serious money to watch them play and some of them just piss about because they don't fancy the manager. Well, I'm sorry, but that just isn't good enough.

As I've said before, I wanted Klopp last summer but grew to respect Moyes and saw potential in what he was trying to achieve here. As I've also said as well: the best job in football management wasn't to follow Ferguson, it was to follow the man who succeeded him. It may well prove that way, unfortunately for Moyes.

To be fair, that's the philosophy we've often look to have these past few years since Ronaldo left, and watching Arsenal falter year after year playing pretty football made me think its not too bad a plan. The problem was, we stopped winning when Moyes took over.

I'd agree if they were exclusively his sources. It would appear that all the press were briefed at the same time. Maybe I just want this to be a true too much.

I would rather they announce it on the day Liverpool win the title along with the retirement of Ryan Giggs and some new record breaking sponsorship deal.
