Confirmed: Moyes sacked.

Think he's all but gone now. Not feeling delighted about it but relieved to see the club hopefully in the safe hands. This mess should not have been created at the 1st place.

One question which springs to mind is what Fergie thinks about this. Is he (and Sir Bobby, for that matter) on the same page as the Glazers? I certainly hope so. If this leads to SAF distancing himself from the club it would be a bloody tragedy, whatever one may think about his recommendation of Moyes.

It might make it easier for the next manager. Remember earlier in the season when the cameras went straight to him every time we conceded.

He'll still be a fan of the club, but maybe we need to accept that his time is up and that we need to look forwards. It is sad but true.

If this is true, no messing around with Giggs, we need to get a world class proven manager.

He'll be fine for the last few matches. The problem will obviously be when we win all 4 and people will be calling for him to be given the job.

I think we should all know Fergies character traits well enough to know that it's probably him that will stick the knife in.

You're all going to go into meltdown pretty soon, confident he'll still be here next season. Money in the summer and afforded no slip ups after that.

Also, the idea of Giggs taking over if he did go is terrifying.
Why? He'd at least have the motivation piece covered and I wouldn't be surprised if he had more tactical awareness than Moyes.

After all of this media attention, it would be hard to stay.

It's like when a TV presenter is accused of a crime. Whether or not they have done it, they will usually have to leave their job as mud sticks.

Cannot see him still being here next season after all of this.

Come come come give us some information. Anything. Just a tiny piece!

I agree with that - but I fear that the parting won't be amicable. That's what I'm worried about.

Why are some of you gimps still worried about Giggs being the next manager

If he is, it'll only be on an INTERIM basis for the remainder of the season.
Is anyone really worried? The season is almost over, we've got nothing left to play for other than an outside chance of qualifying for the Europa (would be nice, but not a major deal) and it's not like it could get any worse than it already has.

I think the answer is clear and that is why SAF is going to Harvard

Probably this was on the cards and a matter of when it became mathematically impossible to meet certain targets

Presumably the delay is United trying to coax him into the fiery pits of Mount Doom.

@MichaelLCrick

A crucial factor in any Moyes decision will be season-ticket renewals. Clear from recent urgings by #MUFC that renewal figs not going well
They phoned me last week about season tickets and I did say ring me back in the summer when you've sacked him, we had quite a laugh about it on the phone and he's promised to call me in the event.
Glad to have done my bit

Of course it was bloody speculative. He was completely guessing.

How is he guessing when he is tweeting that the club have briefed journalists? He is actually a journalist! As opposed to just a random member of the caf 'guessing'.

Forgive me for actually putting some stock in what he is saying, namely that United have briefed journalists and are trying to force a resignation. And as my original post said IF this is true its pretty poor form.

Sorry to you and Lance and Bross for allowing the possibility that the Glazers would behave in this way to be true.

We'll see, the club could announce he is sacked now if they like. They are not doing that. So the Honegstein tweet is consistent with what is happening.

I was laughed at by some on here last week when I said there was something in the Van Gaal story. Looks like was right - at least about Moyes being on the way out - why don't you all give the story time to develop and let my original IF have some space before dismissing the possibility that its true.

I swear, between the 'celebrations' in this thread and folks reactions to the idea that the Glazers are forcing resignation, I really do wonder. What sort of posters are on here anymore.

it'd be an absolute zero risk making Giggs interim manager for 4 games!

If we lost all 4, we'd still most likely come 7th, where's the risk?

But, with the place in widespread relief, it's more likely we'd have a right good end of season this way
