I wouldn't be too happy just yet. If he does get the sack it was probably justified. I feel bad for him because everything just didn't go the way he expected and unfortunately he was out of his depth here. I still think he is a good manager, just not the right one for a top club. I def. think he is a better manager than Tony Pulis who is getting all the plaudits.

Still undergoing a transition and it might take another year to really get back into the champions league. Still a long way to go lads. Hopefully this time we hire someone who is the right fit and don't muck about in the summer.

I hope Giggs isn't thrown into the job beyond the remaining games. I'd love to see him earn the job with success elsewhere, even though it would be weird seeing him outwith Manchester United.

Fergie chose a character rather than an experience winner at manegerial level. I don't think Giggs solves the problem. We most certainly need a manager who has won as a manager.

He will surely be interim until the summer, then hopefully the new manager will take him on in a role.

Spider Moyes, Spider Moyes,
His sacking filled us all with joy.
Lost the games, shifted blame,
Every week it was the same.
Look out! He is a Spider Pig!

Yeah, only put Honigstein's tweet here because he's usually quite reliable for all things German football.

Well this' ll nicely cap the worst season for Manchester United in my lifetime.

Yessssssss brilliant news feck him. Not even too worried on who will come in as it won't be as bad as moyes.

The wait for a new manager to be announced is going to be horrible. I hope it's soon.

I'm scared. I keep checking the date on the PC to make sure it's not the 1st April again.

We always needed a proven winner to take over, and now that is bound to happen. Someone the players, many of whom are winners themselves, can look to and say, yeah he's won this and that, he knows what it takes...

You're great, Mr Pigeon.

Strange that this happened the day after I, one of the few remaining people who thought he should be given more time, finally started to give up on him.

I'm not saying the club monitor this forum and take their lead from my opinions - that's for other people to say.

But it makes you think . . .:nervous:

Anyway, I always said that i'd like to see him given some of next season as well, to see if he can improve us. But that if he was sacked, he could have no real complaints.

And he can't really. The under performance, especially against sides who are half way decent, has just been too marked. Maybe it might have come good eventually, maybe it might not have.

Seems we'll never know now.

I had a look at the odds on who to replace Moyes and see Klopp, Giggs, Pochettino, van Gaal and Pulis...

All the journos gone quiet, we need more. BBC journalist tweeted this when it was breaking a while ago:

This is actually happening isn't it? I didn't think they would go through with it this season at all. Might say it's a bit late, but it has to be the right move. There has been pretty much no progress all season on any front.

That's probably what Moyes could do with, to mend his reputation after this. A heroic rescue job from the brink of relegation. It's probably within his skillset. He looks more comfortable at consolidating, rather than dominating.

 this is golden.

It's certainly difficult to imagine that the events aren't some how linked.
