How young do you think our squad is? We've been saying ourselves that the squad needs a complete overhaul. It's funny how people twist things to align with their views.

At the end of last season, our squad was younger than it had been in years. We needed another midfielder and left back badly, and probably an additional midfielder and a CB. Other than that the squad was perfectly fine. It was hardly a need for "rebuilding", just a few necessary additions. The squad SAF left was far from perfect, but it was reasonably young and had just came from the back of an 11 point PL win. We didnt need rebuilding, just minor tweaks.

Clearly neither did the board! And it shouldn't have been either, I know people say he inherited an ageing team, he inherited the champions of England, we should have been looking at 4th place as our worst case scenario.

I agree, there was no excuse for this transitional period to take us to 7th, no excuse, Pellegrini is in his first season in England and is sitting in top 4 for example, Scary and Exciting times ahead .. again

And now Liverpool supporters world wide are cracking the shits. We are the big news worldwide they are still smaller then us.
We won the Sack the Unsackable CUP! In yo face Leeberpull!

There is some real class in this thread:rolleyes: , the man has been sacked but some of the responses here are pathethic.

Some people needs to realize that we are Manchester United fans and not David Moyes fans. I dont wish him anything bad for the future but the sacking was finally the right decision, yeah and I am happy about that, because now I can look forward to the next season.

it is an ageing squad, but it doesn't drop off to mid table in the space of 10 months. the older heads could've been phased out anyway, instead of flogging ferdinand and vidic to death at the start of the season. if he brought in a decent style of football rather than the dour shite he's served up, he'd have got more from the squad he inherited. it's the constant comparisons to the state of the club when ferguson took over that need to be f**ked off.

MUST are like a broken bloody record.

Yeah, that SSN interview was ridiculous. I agree with their general point but they become harder and harder to take seriously when every question gets twisted into a pre-prepared politicians answer.

Now all City need to do is pip them to the title. I hate how it's come to this, but City need to win. Can't stomach the idea of Suarez with a PL medal.

SEF flags presumably won't remove the "The Chosen one" banner until it's been signed in triplicate in the blood of Christ, Glazer and Ferguson, though?

Humpty David, set up to fall,
Humpty David, won bugger all,
All his cone courses, iPads and Lumsden,
Couldn't help us win the title again.

Could the same be said about SAF.

Happy to see the back of him. I wish it had worked out, but it clearly didn't. The results were terrible and especially the lack of signs of any improvement in the performances were worrying for the future with DM at the helm. So it's the right decission to make.

Now we can look forward to a new season under a new manager (a world class one with a proven track record I hope because that's what this group of players need) and some fresh faces in the squad.

Right decision in the end. He has tried his utmost, but trying is not enough to be Manchester United manager. Hard not to feel for him but he was out of his comfort zone and had to go. I wanted it to work, but it didn't and more importantly there were not signs it would work out eventually.

Let's just hope that the next appointment (after Giggs) is the correct one with a proven winner and leader of big clubs coming in the door.

I notice some people here are upset about how Moyes was treated in the sacking. Moyes being sad and angry at the way he was treated. People saying it is not the United way.

In Frank O'Farrell's day, he started getting suspicious when he turned up for Bobby Charlton's testimonial dinner and discovered that he was not even seated on the top table for a function he had organised himself. It was the next day O'Farrell was summoned to Manchester United's boardroom to be sacked and "A Nice Day for an Execution", the relevant chapter of his autobiography, remembers how Matt Busby avoided eye contact as the chairman, Louis Edwards, broke the news. "It wasn't so much I got the sack but the way they behaved as people," O'Farrell wrote. "I can never forgive them for that – they were nasty beggars."

A lot of people re-writing history in the comments of newspaper site articles. Saying that the United fans are shocking for never getting behind the manager. I personally only fully gave up on Moyes after the Everton game. Now, I'm not saying that I had anything to do with his sacking... just pointing out that it's a awfy big coincidence...

it says a lot about the authors if those responses. One thing with internet forums us that you don't have an idea who s on the keyboard - whether it s a 10 yr old kid or someone who s still bitter about personal issues.

Same here. Was always behind him (though was frustrating). We just weren't improving though, or showing anything. Something had to be done.

I've always said their PR is the worst thing about them. The statements always look lile being written by a child and anytime one of them is on tv they look like rambling idiots who the presenters always try to get rid of after 5 minutes.

I've always appreciated them and once was even a member, but these days I have no clue what their goal is and I think they've lost the plot by and large.

Which is why Moyes should have never been given the job.

Blaming the players? I am giving the players(champions) the benefit of the doubt.

Obviously some players are aging, but it's not as bad as 7th place - we should have been challenging Arsenal at least. He lost the dressing room and was tactically useless. He couldn't motivate the players and he was in danger of making United a far less attractive proposition for the world's better players to come and play for.

Hope it works out for you Dans. Of course if the next manager will have the benefit of a £150m spend and if he has you in the top 3 again next season it will be happy days....if he doesn't I guess we'll be having this same conversation again.

Martyn Ziegler is from the Press Association and Shamoon is BBC. Reliable journos.

Odgen, who has broken everything United related this season. Feck.

They should be campaigning to outlaw leveraged takeovers. Appeal to the authorities instead of making it look like some weird personal crusade against the Glazers.

Someone needs to keep an eye on nahealai & Tomalonge... :nervous:
Said from the start I fully back the board.

Still a little niggling doubt it may have been too soon but the board know more than I do and I defer to them basically.

I'm good with everything apart from him learning he'd gone through the media. Think Rio has been a disgrace this season and should be next out.
