Getting massive Bohely vibes from Jim and his plans. Also, putting a guy in charge of the business side of things who's not even been in football that long sounds like something the Glazers would do. No wonder Jim hasn't outlined a lot of his plans...

There’s an article somewhere can’t find it. One of my criticisms of Ratcliffe on here has been that he hired a cycling coach friend to handle Nice and it caused lots of problems.

No, he hired Brialsford as INEOS groups Sporting Director.

What are you actual grievances with the job he’s done at Nice? Did you want him to come in and fire everyone straight from the off?
Did you not want him to hire a young top rated DoF for Nice in his first full season in the role?

You answered none of these questions previously, just one silly tweet, retweeting one disgruntled fan. But what is it you think Al?

As I can see it, he came in December, allowed the current staff to crack on for a few months, then started making moves to change it. And those moves, such as employing Florent Ghisolfi as the Nice Sporting Director seems positive. And Nice are in good form, with a very good chance of finishing 5th in his first full season in the role.

What has he done to piss on your cornflakes? What problems has he caused? Would 5th and a top rated new sporting director in place be a poor first full season in his new role? What am I missing Al?

What do you want me to explain away?

Has he been found guilty of anything? Am I, or Rightnr from the caf privy to some inside info of the goings on there?
I haven’t a clue mate, not a scooby, but if he’s found guilty of something I’d fully expect the lad to be jobless and in real trouble
You're such an apologist, it's hilarious but whatever.

There does seem to be a blind eye being turned to Ratcliff, INEOS, and all those connected to him in regards to any negatives be they footballing, corporate, or legal/ethical

The only thing you’ve mentioned is Nice current good form over the past 20 matches. How many good 20 match runs did we have post SAF? I can think of quite few under LVG, Jose and Ole

You’re adding nothing again though, you have an article here, a random twitter screenshot there.
When are you going to tell the forum what your big beef with Brailsford is, what you expected of him and what he has failed at so badly, despite it being his first full season in the job.

Give your own opinion for once.

It’s his first full season as INEOS sporting director, and he’s had the new Nice Sporting Director he chose in place for just 5 months, how many great runs of form do you expect?

As you keep referring to the Glazers, Brailsford employed a top rated Sports Director for Nice in his first full season. How long did it take the Glazers or Woodward to do the same?

Just when we seem to be upgrading, streamlining, rationalising out org structure, the plan is to throw all that away and have a cycling guru come in! Like Clive Woodward at Soton but worse.

Best in class, from any sport?

I’ve posted an article, plus a quote from a Nice fan, another poster has posted an article about doping allegations.

No-one would be “coming in” though you drama queens. He’s the Sporting Director for the group, so rather than Uncle Jim or the Sheikh picking out a DoF, Brailsford does that.

As has shown at Nice, Brailsford doesn’t want to be a sporting director of a football club, hence why he hired Florent Ghisolfi who is Nice own Sporting Director. He obviously knows people can do that job better than he ever could.
Clive Woodward was quite the opposite.

Exactly, and absolutely no opinion of your own.

One daft article that looks sillier by the minute as Nice climb the table in his first full season, one disgrunted fan and an “allegation”.
But what does AlPist think Brailsford has done so poorly?

Brailsford

Great job he is doing at Nice, taking them from 5th to 7th in 4 years. Looks like we are doomed with mediocrity for eternity with brexit FC.

We are on a clear upward trejectory. I am not sure we need to tear things up when ETH's current support structure seems geared up to work for him. -- especially not some experimental approach by someone who has such a learning curve ahead of him.

I would be very fearful if someone from the cycling work came in and oversaw some overhaul of United. ETH had a proper football oriented structure from overmars to Van Der Sar support him.
I doubt if he will be that keen to battle through the learning curve of some guy who knows feckall about football never mind Manchester united.
Imagine ETH listening to brailsford talking about his experiences at Nice or at Sky cycling.

Why would ETH stay whilst the ratcliffe team learns their way around the football world? He will have his options especially many empathetic employees who would be shaking their heads at the cycling circus at Carrington.

I don’t want anyone to come in and rock the boat, I like where we are and where we’re going, but I also want the Glazers gone.

I don’t trust any new owner not to come in and start “messing” sadly, do you?

You’re also making the mistake of thinking ETH would work with Brailsford, he wouldn’t would he? He’d work, just like the Nice manager, with the sporting director of the football club, who is a football guy.

Yet he is camped out on Nice's car park?

No, he was, at the time he was sorting out the position of the new sporting director yes. Short term, in a luxury caravan in the staff parking. I think it shows a great commitment whilst he oversaw such an important decision. Florent Ghisolfi will shape the fortunes of Nice for the coming years, it was extremely important to get it right and get him settled in with all the support he needed.
Why the feck is working for a Sheikh, Ed Woodward, Roman Abramovich, Martin Edwards, FSG, somehow better?

The boat is already rocked. If the Glazers stay how is ETH meant to actually pay for transfers? How is this stadium getting built? Ten Hag needs a new owner. He needs a new structure. Its been a superman effort from him this year. Dont get it confused that this set up is beneficial to him.

Think you must have missed the part where I said I want them gone.

Duncan Castles saying Ratcliffe is confident his bid will win. Is he acting as Ratcliffe's mouthpiece or is he making shit up?

I've experience in business change management and if this is true, it worries me.

Identifying what you want to change (a new technical team in particular, and assuming this is likely on the sports science side given the Dave Brailsford connection) before you've had any opportunity to properly assess what's currently in place? - that's a recipe for disaster.

We're clearly on an upward trajectory with what ETH and his team are doing and INEOS are already considering bringing across their own ideas?

Talk about arrogance....

Whether of their own doing or influenced by external factors, such as in the case of Galtier's departure, there has been a sense that Nice have been in a constant state of flux since Ratcliffe took over, never particularly settling and gaining much continuity in his early years at the head of the club.
"At the start, the INEOS project was very attractive to us - everyone was happy and couldn't believe Ratcliffe bought our club," one fanpage says. "Then, after two or three years, we didn't really see the point of this project, we weren't very well ranked in Ligue 1, we had fired our coach, the transfer windows were terrible, we were wondering little what this project was for."

A bedding-in period has to be taken into account, but that hasn't stopped a belief from some that Ratcliffe has been out of his depth as Nice owner. The general view is that him and those that have supported him don't actually know masses about football and the running of a club of Nice's stature.
"I would like to say that Sir Jim is not considered to be a great connoisseur of football," Lucas says.
This is a point reaffirmed by another fanpage. "I think that INEOS for the moment has not yet proved enough to us to say that it suits us," they say. "INEOS has a lot of money but is not necessarily a group that knows football extremely well - not always the best recruitment or the best choices."
These poor choices have contributed somewhat to the limbo related to changing managers on a frequent basis, while a lack of big strides in the transfer window is also judged by fans to have halted their progress somewhat.

No chance anyone outbids Qatar, they are very much in it to win it and suspect that they will just flex their full financial muscle and go above any other offer when it comes down to it, they won't accept losing out to anyone.

Everything about the INEOS/Ratcliffe bid just screams amateur hour. Guy just comes across as a complete chancer. Obviously that doesn’t mean that’s the case, but whoever is running his PR campaign is doing a horrendous job.

You dont need to guess anything. He actually owns a football club in shit league and managed to take them from 5th to 7th in 4 years.

They are 7th in the league. They finished 7th in 2018, and 5th the season after the takeover. How bad did they become under INEOS if you’re championing 7th like it’s an achievement?

Whoever buys the club is making big organisational changes, you're naïve if you thought that wasn't going to happen. Ineos will probably make less changes than Qatar will.

It's good though as there are still serious question marks over our recruitment approach and the competency of Arnold and Murtough.

It's an improvement over let's make the banker dude who helped us make our bid the CEO.
