Club Sale | It’s done!

Why would they do that? They are all getting paid. The players are getting paid the biggest salary that someone of their quality would get.
With new owners, their jobs could be in danger.
In practice, probably not. Most of them are 'brands' and quasi-entrepreneurs anyway and also aware semi-consciously of the living they're stealing here - even by their industry's standards . But that's the scale of the jolt that will be needed, unless someone appears out of nowhere with ungodly money and manages to stuff their mouths with gold sufficiently, or something 'befalls' the chief Glazers ( inshallah)

I know they'd all be threatened with lawsuits etc, but I think a genuine wholesale strike, including players refusing to play, staff refusing to come into work, until the Glazers indicate they were selling would do it.

It would take something where the machinery of the club essentially grinds to a halt for any shard of consciousness to penetrate that veil of greed and hubris -it would have to be something that embarrasses them more than just stuttering results and ambient-mockery whilst the money roll s in, something where the heads of partner corporations would be directly contacting them. And the cnuts would still make bank on the sale - but who cares at this stage. Their relinquishing any control (and I wish we had an unanimous clarity about this) is honestly the only thing that sees us recover.
They are all well over paid. Why would they go on strike to force a club sale to someone that could fix the horrendous wage structure which could make them lose money. It doesn’t make sense.

Make a take it or leave it offer to buy the club in its entirety instead of further bankrolling those parasites with the atrocity he’s reported to be offering.

They must be tempted right now to go back to the SJ and accept the offer of 100% sale from Qatar, £5.6 billion seems enormous in view of everything on the pitch right now, ok so the debt was part of the deal they still walk away with over £5 billion and they can cash in their A Shares with all the minority shareholders also cashing in.

No chance. That would be common sense

The Glazers may be tempted, but Qatar have themselves pulled out.

Has it ever been proven that big forehead man from Muppetiers actually has real contacts?

He seems to know when a story is about to be broken but not what the story is. Then speaks a load of crap between the stories to make it seem like he knows stuff. My guess is he has some sort of source in the media but not an actual insider at the club

Sir Jim taking over instead over Qatar, is like being told your blind date is with a Victoria Secrets model, and you get there and there's just a fresh dog turd on the chair.

People think that hiring a sporting director who is out of work will suddenly change everything.

There needs to accountability in the hierarchy where there is a vision of excellence.

Remember, we have spent the same amount as City, despite the Glazers taking money out of the club.

We need best in class and communication with the community.

If Jim wants to make any impact, he needs to do the above.

It's pretty incredible to me how effective PR has become on today's civilisation. We've gone from a full sale from potentially two different bidders all the way down to a minority offer with sporting control and just because of a shaky start of the season literally everyone is getting thrown under the bus except the Glazers. Fans are begging for the managers head and all current executives for a sporting structure under a minority shareholder that has up to this point, failed in all other sporting ventures.

The PR the last couple weeks has been unbelievably effective at directing the blame and the solution in Utd's problems. We've had non-stop hit pieces on Ten Hag, his signings, his coaching, the role Arnold and Murtaugh have played in recruitment as all symptoms of why Utd find themselves where we are. The solution is the Glazers stay for an undetermined time and Ratcliffe and Brailsford are the saviours. I can't believe people are buying this crap. This is a systematic attack on the club by the media to sway the warranted negativity surrounding this minority investment that the fans are begging for the deal to go through when it's the worst case scenario for the club and it's future. The Glazers need to sell and sell right now. This minority offer only enables them to continue long enough to see through their superleague plans and whatever other bullshit they have up their sleeve in the coming years.

We need to push back on this. This offer does nothing for the infrastructure, the debt or future squad investments and I see his "dream team" as nothing more than a way to turn our glorious institution into a money making enterprise on the pitch by developing players for ambitious clubs to buy, because apparently we've also now been conditioned to believe the club should be making net profits in transfers too. Jesus wept.

Glazers out, remember? Ratcliffe’s PR team is working overtime on this deal.

Hipster's choice or does Mitchell actually know what he is doing?
From Head of recruitment to DOF? Too big a jump?
It’s hipster bullshit. This will be his 6th job in 13/14 years if I’m reading his wiki correctly. These people don’t even last longer than managers yet they’re supposed to be long term visionary of club

He's a director on the football club board with Sir Alex and Michael Edelson.
I thought they were on some advisory board with no real power. I don't think that's the same thing as the football board that's being referred to in the tweet.

They were both brought back by Arnold after years of being left in the dark under Woodward. Arnold formed a brain storming group that also included Vidic, Robbo and Irwin. They discussed some of the transfers last summer such as Martinez and Casemiro.

I presumed the football board meant the football club board that is different to the PLC one. Anyway I'm 99% sure both Fergie and Gill have director roles for life, I'm just wondering how they restructure the board and if they are given more honoury titles maybe.

Got it. So in 18 months folks here will be calling out for his neck. SOP then

So who should be our Sporting Director?

So how would you want INEOS to communicate with the community, can Jean Claude Blanc be considered best in class or prefer someone like Julian Ward who used to be with scousers.

Probably someone most of us have not heard of -- other than @Adnan.

They ought to be the quiet professionals working behind the scenes.
Yeah, and then complain why are we hiring a nobody for this important position and we should be going for elite people.

Paul Mitchell would have been someone I wanted for this job a few years ago, Ralf too, so to be honest I don’t know. Every decision the glazers make is poison so INEOS -> Paul Mitchell -> glazers ruin everything by half arsing it while looking for the most lucrative exit strategy possible

Please do tell us who are these Elite People for Sporting Director position and what basis you have decided they are Elite .

That would be so Caf.

How many of us knew who the City's DOF was when he first started? Or even now, gun to our head?
