Club Sale | It’s done!

It’s 3 extra years, with them out of control and without a say. It’s presumably an end to dividends being taken out of the club, and an end to the debt.
You’re really getting this out of proportion. Even without a penny of INEOS money in we will thrive without all the Glazer money out. This is a good thing for our club.

It's the dividends that concern me slightly. He can only stop those with a 100% buyout as we're listed and that could take a few years if it all goes well and he's interested in dong that.

Tbf it depends if 4.9bn was just for the Glazers shares, that would value the whole club at 7bn, but obviously if that's a valuation for the whole club rather than just their shares it's substantially less
It's not, it's the valuation of 100% of the club. Whenever you hear bids are 5bn, 4bn, whatever, it's referring to the valuation of the club as a whole placed by the bidder, and then that sets the share price for the selling parties. Media won't always report this accurately (especially the sports journos trying to cover an M&A), but this is how M&A bids are done.

This is now going to get interesting.

This was always going to happen. Qatar see SJR’s highest bid then beat it. We read months ago that the Qatar party were told not to return without a deal

Reading the article, clearly looks like a ploy to get more money from Jassim

Only relevant info from the article..

The rest is written for the sheep to gobble up.

Possibly, but I'm not worried at all if they just have voting power. It's their inaction and making stupid decisions that cost the club, but I dont think they would ever act against the interests of the club simply out of spite. They'll just sit along quietly for the ride and take their money in a few years.
They will have nearly 50 % of the club. No way that they will sit quietly.

The not being interested in football ones?
Yeah this one.

"I am not a football fan. I don’t like this investment. Maybe it will work well. But you know, some of my sons like this, they always discuss it with me. They’re pushing hard. This isn’t my specialty. Let me put it like this: I am an investor. If it will one day be a good investment, I will think about it. I will not look at it as something you do just as an advertisement."

Confirmation (not exactly but...) that things are where we thought - we're currently gonna be sold to INEOS unless Qatar is willing to up their offer considerably. The longer it goes without us hearing that they've decided to do so the closer we get to Sir Jim putting the Manchester back in United.

As I said before as long as we end up with new majority control owners I'm happy.

Even if two Glazers stay it's mostly irrelevant as long as the new owner has control and they'd likely be fully gone within a few years.

Ineos make a feck ton of money and would be one of the richest owners in the league.

At the end of the day if Qatar don't buy us its their own fault for not making a more competitive offer.

Hopefully the preferred bidder is announced next week because that all but means a sale is guaranteed

He can stop those with a 50.1% stake. Just like the Glazers themselves didn't take dividends last year, the one(s) with the controlling stake can decide that.

It’ll be for the EV of the club, nobody is handing the Glazers 5bn.
Stop grasping for straws and be pleased we are getting rid of the incompetent Glazers.

I'm not grasping for straws maybe you should stop attacking anyone who doesn't immediately believe any article, particularly one that says Qatar could still make an 11th hour bid. I'd rather Qatar, but if Jim is actually willing to invest in the infrastructure and squad and clear the debt then I'd be happy with that too. I think you've spent too long in this thread making into some tribal thing, either you're 100% pro Ratcliffe or you're the enemy, grow up

This is now going to get interesting.

I shouldn’t give them the credit, but the Glazers are more than likely using Ratcliffe to get Qatar to make an eleventh hour bid. They’re not as useless as people think. They’ve played everyone and will walk away the winners.

Just fecking make sure they walk away.

I just read above that Jim will have 50% and two Glazers 50%. With (i presume) sir Jim having control.

Those two Glazers don't even own 50% of the club now. So if thats the case they are buying some of their siblings shares.

As long as Jim has control and there is a plan in place that the Glazers will be fully gone in next few years it's fine really.

They will have nearly 50 % of the club. No way that they will sit quietly.

No they won't. They don't own 100% of the club as it is now. They have sold off big chunks of the club over the last few years. They own 69% right now as it stands. If Jim gets 51% how can they keep 50?

Go and read up before posting.

Every day United fans sink a little deeper...

It's not a conscious choice at all, it's the backbone of their entire business model. Every single one of them.

City are cheats
PSG are cheats
Newcastle are cheats, they've already lied from day one about their ownership

Every. Single. One.

Stop living in denial, stop trying to convince yourselves and others that it would be different at United. Qatar don't care about United, we are nothing but a vessel for them to advertise to the world they are not backwards human rights abusing authoritarian dictators and like the Saudis and the Abu Dhabis before then, they will stop at nothing to push this falsehood.

They work on peoples naivety. You've fallen for it and are already shilling for them...
Why would they spend billions on a football club to convince you or anyone else about who they are when all the doors they needed opening were opened for them a long time ago without resorting to sportswatching? You think they really care what the West thinks about them when their resources do the talking for them?

They want the prestige of owning a club competing for and winning big titles for their own ego, they don't need to do this to be accepted into a society they don't live in, who don't vote for them and who could freeze to death if they closed the gas taps. Do you know how these dictators think? They don't need anyone's approval to do what they want.

There's laws in place to protect investors though. If you're listed you can't just stop dividend payments forever.

Wow, talk about sensitive. If you consider that an attack I don’t know what to tell you.

Where are those who refer to this as a state bid now?

I would like you all to apologise to Jassim.
In the unlikely event that he can find Manchester on a map, I'll make sure to swing by his yacht and ask how he's holding up.

You're telling anyone who doesn't immediately celebrate at yet another article, which still isnt conclusive, to "stop grasping at straws" it's weird

Yeah. I predicted earlier in the thread that Ratcliffe would get to his top number and Qatar would just come back and beat it. We shall see!
I think we both predicted something similar. I thought they (92 foundation) were waiting for Ratcliffe to lay all his cards on the table before topping his offer. So let's see what happens.

@Loon I feel the Glazers and the Raine group are feeding the frenzy.

But whichever group wins, the potential is there for us to move forward as a football club. So this will hopefully be a positive outcome, either way.

Seems silly when they could've just blown everyone away from the start like they said they would back in February. Instead they look like chancers who thought they could get in with a lowball offer.

But yeah, like you said, Glazers win in the end if the Qataris blink. So much about avoiding embarrassment.

Almost sounds like it. Wouldn't out it past them either
