The Daily Mash said:
KAKA DEAL OFF AFTER AGENT FINALLY SAYS THE WORD 'CITY'
BRAZILIAN superstar Kaká has called off a move to Manchester after his agent finally said the word 'city'.

Kaká said he thought 'Manchester City' was the name of the local railway stationThe AC Milan striker was furious claiming he had been duped into believing he was going to sign for a proper football team that had won a major trophy since he was born.

Kaká said last night: "My agent called last week and said that Manchester were interested in me. I was so excited at the thought of all those great players, the traditions, the best coach in the world, and of course Gemma Atkinson's magnificent charlies.

"I packed an overnight bag and we went to the airport, but as we were walking through the terminal my agent turned to me and said 'oh, in case I didn't mention, it's Manchester City.

"I stopped dead in my tracks and said, 'are you having a laugh? Seriously, is this some big fecking joke?'.

"He said to me, 'don't worry, they're a really big club with loads of money. And then there's Mark Hughes'.

"I said, 'I already play for a really big club, I've got loads of money and what, in the name of God, is a 'Mark Hughes'?'"

He added: "I walked away shouting, 'go and get me a proper deal from a proper English club that does not include the word 'city'. No Hulls, no Birminghams, and no fecking Stokes!'"

Manchester City said last night they still hoped to complete the deal if they can persuade Cristiano Ronaldo to sign for the club and act as Kaká's butler.

Sorry if this has been posted before - made me laugh.

Sky Italia said they saw Kaka crying as he left the San Siro last night.

Anyway, its up to him. But the ball is in his court. Call me cynical but I am not buying this 'club is forcing him out' thing. Sometimes you have to put yourself first and he could easily turn around to the club and tell them he can't go as he would feel it would ruin his career.

Very interestingly, Galliani or Berlu, said yesterday 'we could offer Kaka a rise but we can't match what City are offering'. This suggests Kaka's move would be more about money than people think

The Kaka love-in on this thread is a bizarre. It's like he's some kind of personal hero for you weirdos. He's not. He's a footballer. A footballer for a rival club.

He's also an incredibly wealthy footballer. And now he's about to be tempted into moving to a club that's locked in a relegation battle by the offer of a salary which will makes this incredibly wealthy man even richer. And you daft feckers are trying to portray him as some kind of heroic martyr, being forced to join City against his wishes. How does that work exactly?

Wise up and stop acting like star-struck wee girls, all upset about their favourite boyband splitting up. This thread is embarrassing.

Agreed.

If you read this thread you wold really think a United player in involved.

Well In Becks

Becks expects Kaka stay
England midfielder hopes Brazilian will turn down City

David Beckham is confident Kaka will turn down the opportunity to join Manchester City in the January transfer window.

The Brazilian playmaker is on the verge of a world record £108million move to England as City boss Mark Hughes closes on his top target.

Kaka started in Milan's 1-0 victory over Fiorentina at San Siro on Saturday night and fans demonstrated their support as the 26-year-old was thought to be saying his goodbyes.

But Beckham - who is currently on loan with Milan - expects Kaka to stay in Italy because of his 'love' for the Rossoneri.

Tight-lipped
"Every club in the world wants Ricardo, not just because he is a great player, but he's also the nicest man you'd ever hope to meet," said Beckham.

"We all want him to stay and I think he will stay, as he loves Milan and he loves living here."

When asked if he had discussed life in the Premier League - and specifically in Manchester - with Kaka, Beckham was tight-lipped.

"We said good morning and we said good luck before the game," added Beckham.

"There's no need to speak about anything else, as the other things are not important, we just had to focus on the game."

Emergence
And Beckham insists he only follows the business of former club Manchester United, despite the emergence of City following the arrival of the Abu Dhabi United Group.

"I only care about Manchester United, personally," Beckham continued.

"Manchester City are a team that has been bought by a company and there is a lot of money there now.

"But, for me, United are the only team in Manchester."

The future of Kaka remains shrouded in doubt, despite the overwhelming support of 65,000 fans and his AC Milan team-mates on Saturday night.

Kaka fans make their feelings known

The Brazil playmaker put his hand to his heart as he left the field of play at the end of his side's 1-0 win over Fiorentina, waving emotionally and applauding the fans who have grown to love him over the past five years.

His team-mates all took turns in hugging him in scenes which could easily be interpreted as a send-off from the Lombardian city.

Kaka now faces an unprecedented test of character in deciding whether to accept Manchester City's millions - and turn his back on the affection shown so palpably - or stay put.

"The fans showed a great gesture of affection to Kaka,'' said Rossoneri coach Carlo Ancelotti. "I don't think this was his last game for Milan. I hope he stays because he is an important player for us.''

But Kaka certainly faces a difficult decision - one his team-mate Gianluca Zambrotta does not envy him for.

"If I were offered 15 million a year, I don't know what I would do,'' said the Italian. "This is a choice of a lifetime and it is hard to make up your mind just like that.

"Kaka is an outstanding player and he is capable of making the difference all by himself.''

However, while manifesting their desire to keep hold of the undeniably talented 26-year-old, Milan have already expressed their willingness to negotiate a fee with City.

Earlier, Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi claimed he would not attempt to obstruct the deal, admitting it would be "very difficult'' to force the player to remain with his club in view of the millions being offered by City.

sometimes i forget what a legend David Beckham is. i hope he stays in Milan, he deserves better football than the states.

Terms Agreed

Of a sort. ;)

The Daily Express' Harry Harris has just trailed an exclusive that they have in tomorrow's edition on the BBC:

City and Milan unofficially agree fee of £130m

Florentino Perez has in principle agreed terms with Kaka. [Estimated transfer value of up to £100m

feck's sake those Madrid cnuts can't stay a day, A SINGLE DAY, without linking themselves with someone, even if they don't have a chairman.

It would really help if another team put in a bid for him, any team we don't dislike as much as these cnuts, and have a good laugh, but it is impossible, there's no way, the only idiotic teams to pay that ammount of money for one human are those 2.

This Poor Kaka nonsense is as sickening as the media hype transfer deals get nowadays.

People have to make these decisions every single day. Go to a place where they can earn more money or staying at the place they enjoy working more. It's a common dilemma but he needs to grow a pair and make a decision quickly.

If he really wanted to stay he could easily nip this whole saga in the bud but he hasn't and like in the Ronaldo saga it's completely his fault.

What you do not understand is that it may not be entirely up to Kaka. If Milan ask him to leave, he will have to respect that and move on - and they may do that with the kind of money that we are talking about. Even their fans realize that it is not up to him to decide.

I'm confused, It's just City and Milan involved in this one. Nothing to do with Madrid:angel:

He could say no I don't want to leave. I'm staying and seeing out my contract, thank you very much.

And given Ancellotti has already come out and said that he wants him to stay, he'd continue to play for them.

Obviously he could, but the question is - should he? Don't be silly. If Milan ask him to leave, he should leave.

Do Milan want him to leave? Or by Milan you mean a couple of suits want him to leave?

The fans want him to stay, players want him to stay, his manager wants him to stay basically the club wants him to stay.

Nobody in the world would turn 500k a week down and it's a good deal for Milan also they could sort out the defence and buy Benzema too.

100M could make them a formidable force.

Fans do not run the club and manager has nothing to say.

not really.

uncle Silvio and his side kick Galliani have been equivocating in the press, and scripting similarly ambiguous statements to the Milan channel since the news broke. Milan is struggling financially, and it seems in the current financial climate, they could do with a cash injection for a single player. Galliani said as much in a sort of plea to the fans after Fiorentina: that he must think with his head, not with his heart.

Sarni's right. it's not only up to Kaka.

Yes this whole episode could mean that in Kaka's mind to consider leaving Milan, but that doesn't have to be to City.

It is believed that Madrid have put the suggestion to Milan of bids in the region of fifty and seventy million in recent seasons. There could be an agreement reached whereby Kaka's departure is more on his terms, albeit some months down the line. Not too far north of that second figure and i reckon they'd be all in business, definitely some way removed from fees like 130m.

Real Madrid are the lesser of two evils.

I wondered about this... what if Kaka has his agent talking to Real now that Milan are "forcing" him out... so if Real offer say 60m and Milan has basically shoved Kaka out the door, how can they not allow him to join Real if a great offer is received?

Even Hughes himself seems to be getting caught up in the Kaka transfer hype. He's normally more level headed than this.

Would love to see city sign him for a 120 million then get relegated and then watch walk down the road to our training centre because of a clause in his contract.

Madrid cannot afford that though. I doubt they would be able to spend £100m+ on one player, besides they won't offer him £500k a week. And even if they somehow end up tabling an offer like that, City will possibly come and double that.

Thing is, if they offered Barca that money for Messi, both player and club would snap it up.
If they offered United that for Ronaldo, don't think they wouldn't consider it either.
Milan aren't in the Champions League this season, so Kaka knows what it's like to go without for a season, he knows that if he joins and De Jong joins now, then in the summer they will buy another three or four 20million+ players and will be a major force in the Premiership next season.
And forget about all this bollocks about Manchester being too cold for him, it snows like feck in Milan and is colder than the North-West of England.

I doubt Messi will ever move at least atm when he is in his prime

It's a drier cold. Much more livable and not nearly as harsh as it is the NW.

I could see it; things will be interesting if Kaka does go to City. It will change everything.
Abramovich camr to Chelsea and they bought Makalele and Veron, experienced and expensive yes, but both well under 20mil, the Arabs came in at the last moment and still got Robinho for a British record out of nothing. Now if they had been around a few weeks earlier, then we would have seen more big names at City given the time.
In the summer, with Kaka as the standard of quality, they will bring a vast array of talent to Eastlands, goalkeepers, defenders, the lot.
Chelsea went on to buy expensive players in Drogba, Crespo, Robben etc but these guys were never really more than 20mil+, City will now go on and start bidding 50mil+ for Torres and the like, whether they get them or not. I believe there are players out there with morals and tradition. I couldn't see Torres leave Liverpool in the next few years at least for any money. Aguero however could and will leave Atletico. Ribery could leave Bayern. Drogba could leave Chelsea, etc.

To a Brazilian, cold is cold, and for 500grand a week, I'd live in the fecking North Pole and fondle penguins.
500 grand. You'd fondle penguins for Green Shield stamps so maybe you're not the standard we should be judging people by ;)
