Whatever you say vijay.... 110 mil spent in the serie a will put Milan back on top in no time, City will get into the top 4 sooner or later if they keep throwing around huge sums of money every transfer window(probably), it may not be next year but its coming, unless they get relegated hahaha. But seriously atm Arsenal look like a club with a target on their back for the challengers, I know they arent far off but they have been that way for a while now. Cant believe them and City didnt go after Palacios, he was great against United, wasnt the most spectacular of players but made all the right moves and passes with the ball, think that he could have helped each club. Reckon he will be sold in 18 months by Spurs for ten mil in profit if his form continues because the guy is class

I`ve always thought of Kaka as the sort guy who wouldn`t let the cash decide.

That said though, I think it would be interesting to see a player of that calibre in England, even if it is for City. They are so far from being a challenger anyway, so Kaka alone won`t do it for them. It will obviously be a signal to other players though.

i've read this in all sorts of places, including allegedly objective media.

it's not only up to Kaka. 100 million quid for a single player is serious cash, esp. given the financial troubles Milan are under. Berlusconi has hardly spent at all on that team; it's an aging squad as well. 100 million would go a long way toward rejuvenating that squad.

the fact that Milan are pussy-footing about, saying it's up to Kaka and whatnot shows they're ready to cash in, but don't want to anger the fans. i'll definitely be catching the Fiorentina game today.

It wouldnt just go a long way it would rejuvenate them, if spent wisely...they would be the Kings of Italia sooner than later if it happens. As good as Kaka is he isnt worth this much nor is Ronaldo although it would be an offer that would have been taken if Madrid would have put the Kingdom of Spain's money where their mouth was. It will inflate prices but what does that mean when you get such a windfall, not much just get your man before Shitty does.

the longer it drags on the less I think it will happen, atm I think it will though tbh, the numbers are just right for Milan and Kaka

The big Spending days in Italy are over particulary Milan who are making it a point to get only some crocked up materials. With Shevcheko's transfer money in their kitty couple of years in thierback Galliani and Berlusconi were prattling like kids in the play ground, raving about Ronaldinho but all they brought in were the Fat Brazilian and unknown players hyping them as the next Pele and Zidane.

I will get that money and buy Benzema, Aguero and Arshavin straight away. Maybe some spare money left for a classy defender too.

And now they have ROnaldinho, and are getting more than thrice what they got for Sheva, and have an up and coming star in Pato. Get a defender, CM, winger and striker (25 mil apiece), and they are set

With 100-120 millions in Milan's account (hypothetically), who do you think they'll try to go for ? Obviously Mexes but who else ?

Even if Galliani tries wooing Benzema, Aguero or whoever it is their face value should shoot above Kaka as every one's aware, they badly need players and have the cash. The equation should change more like if Citeh can pay £100M for Kaka who is no more the best player even in the Serie A it should inflate the transfer market as a whole particularly if Milan try some smart business on the back of that. Even Juventus is entertaining this nasty idea of getting rid of Buffon for £100M and invest those funds on Messi; if Italian clubs manage to offload their senior players to the clueless Citeh, they cannot get better players unless they shell out more.

Their decline triggered when they started importing crocked up materials, Favalli, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Beckham to name a few, rather investing on young players they did in the 90's. Always thought Milan were losing their edge by focusing more on their family values when they operate in the transfer market, but they were likeable, with veterans clinging on to their places and still able to maintain a decent league form coupled with some great moments in the CL but never thought they would offload their star players for the sake of money, first it was Sheva and then Kaka. Feel bad for Kaka, he should've fecked off the Real when they offered some silly money, rather he opted for a longer stay in Milan. As for Milan without Kaka, their first worry would be to survive for the next six months and stay in contention for next years CL, unlikely to happen.

they should sell Kaka ... no body is worth that much money ... you only get that sort of money from some lunatic who strike it rich by accident and wants to blow it all away like Abramovich did at Chelski ... milan should take that money and buy 10 younger players with it ... fecken stupid if they decline ... Kaka is overrated ... what did he do last season? jackshit ... the only reason why he won world footballer of the year was b/c of 2 good games in the champions league ... one against us ... AND because he has good character ... but he's not fecken god ... he's still human ... MILAN ARE STUPID FOR NOT ACCEPTING THE OFFER FROM SHITTY ... as always ... milan/berlsuconi are dumb as feck ... buy old shitty players and don't sell when it is right to sell ... this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to get that sort of money ... it's like double what Real paid for Zidane .... when Juve sold Zidane who did they buy?? Buffon and Nedved ... two of the greatest players in Serie A ... enuff said

On the top of that if Milan sell Kaka for £100M even reach an agreement with say Athletico on Aguero for anything less than Kaka's money, how long it would take for Citeh to hijack the deal by shelling out an extra £5M or £10M, if they are aware any other top player is on sale.

If Milan sell Kaka I dont see them getting away with that money.

I would say Napoli and Lazio, in some of those matches Kaka was the difference between winning and losing. Without Kaka they would struggle even to go past Fiorentina or Roma forget about Inter or Juve.

Ok, I asked that because I haven't been following AC Milan much (priority in the Seria A is given to Juve ^^) and I might have said some ignorant stuff about their team this season.
It'll be interesting to see if Ronaldinho can step up his game because I don't think he has so far

There is a difference between a big club pulling out a big transfer deal with another club compared to a moron working overtime to launder his inherited fortune. For the start big club wouldn't bother sniffing around other players once they have their targets whilst for clubs like City, the game starts and end once in every six months.

Well he has usurped Kaka as their most important player. With Pato now as cast as their new golden boy.

When Kaka broke in to their team, they had Rui Costa, Pirlo, Shevcheko, Nesta, Gattuso, Seedorf, Inzaghi and others in their pomp and had the likes of Redondo, Leonardo and Rivaldo on their bench. Basically they had two players in each position, on the back of a CL win they even afforded to rest their senior players and give Kaka a longer run to develop although it took him less than one season to settle.

These days, they still start with those same names along with some crocked up players as new buys, and the players that warm their bench are plainly rubbish. Dont see Pato developing to his potential if he hangs around with Milan for long. As for Ronaldinho, I am not a fan of heated soups.

Leonardo, Rivaldo and Redondo never played with Kaka.

Truth is Kaka broke into their side because he was pure gold. As Pato is. They really don't have a reputation for giving young players fair chance. Gourcuff and Vieira back in the day are great examples.

AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti has admitted he will have no say over whether Kaka leaves for Manchester City.

* Milan may accept Kaka bid
* Kaka to examine mega bid

After previously refusing Chelsea and Real Madrid permission to speak with the Brazilian former world player of the year, Milan have finally buckled after being presented with a staggering £108million (A$240million) offer from City.

Angry Milan fans are preparing a mass protest at Saturday's (Sunday AEDT) Serie A encounter with Fiorentina at the San Siro, when Kaka will play alongside David Beckham for the Rossoneiri against Fiorentina.

But Ancelotti admits he is powerless to resist the move, if Milan's senior officials give the green light.

"It is not like the days of Franco Baresi or Paolo Maldini when we just used to say 'They are not for sale'," admitted Ancelotti.

"I have said that Kaka should not leave. He is the central part of the future. But I am just the trainer. I train the team. I do not choose the players.

"If Kaka leaves then it is something I will have to accept. The question now is down to Kaka. It's up to him if he stays or goes."

The statement is hardly going to ease tensions among a militant support who have only been able to look upon in complete bewilderment as City put together possibly the most astonishing transfer of all time.

Yet Ancelloti also tried to adopt a calming approach.

"We cannot be too alarmed," he cautioned. "I know what the fans are thinking but they have to be brave.

"The aims for the team remain the same, with or without Kaka."

The idea of life without Kaka is one Milan may have to get used to.

Indeed, a part of owner Silvio Berlusconi might privately hope the transfer goes through, given the staggering fee, more than double the current £47million world record Real Madrid paid for Zinedine Zidane in 2001, Milan stand to pocket.

However, there is still plenty of work to do.

Chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak and executive chairman Garry Cook need to convince Kaka's father Bosco Leite of their grandiose plans.

Such is the trust between father and son, if City are successful in that aim, Kaka could well be making his debut against Newcastle on January 28 as planned.

With a clause almost certainly going to be inserted into any contract Kaka signs allowing the player to leave should City not reach a certain level - probably Champions League qualification - within a set time-frame - 18 months has been mentioned - the Blues hierarchy cannot afford to remain static in other areas over the next fortnight as they close in on their number one target.

Hamburg have confirmed a bid has been received from the Eastlands outfit for their highly-rated Dutch midfield star Nigel de Jong.

"Manchester City have signalled their interest in the player and made us an offer," said Hamburg spokesman Jorn Wolf.

"We now have to sit down and decide if it is worth considering."

The feeling at City is that De Jong will make the move, which would at least mean Kaka is not settling in on his own should he decide to accept an estimated £500,000 (A$1.1million) weekly salary.

"I have said that Kaka should not leave. He is the central part of the future. But I am just the trainer. I train the team. I do not choose the players.

Here lies the fundamental difference between European clubs and traditional English clubs.

Carlo Ancelotti just "train the players", and he "does not choose the players".

SAF would be furious if he is given these restrictions, and that's essentially the reason why Benitez has rejected the contract offer.

No. Benitez has rejected the contract offer because it would place the same restrictions on him as are put on every manager in the country, including Ferguson. Benitez wants total autonomy, Ferguson must speak with the Chief Executive, if he didn't have to do this, Ronaldinho would probably be at United.

Tearful Kaka Wants 2010 Release Clause

Milan midfielder Riccardo Kaka is on the verge of completing his €120 million transfer to Manchester City, however, as part of his deal, he has demanded that the English side install a special release clause in his contract.

Il Corriere Dello Sport claims the Premier League side have accepted the request which could see them lose out €55m on their investment within a year of landing their man.

Kaka has asked for a €65m buy-out clause, which will allow him to leave the club in 2010 if the promises and plans Manchester City make do not materialise.

In addition, the Brazilian ace has demanded a 20 percent rise in his annual salary as compensation for not being able to play in the Champions League next season.

City are currently struggling in the league and European football seems highly unlikely. The new deal, if signed, will see Kaka take home around €18m per season in wages.

The City deal is becoming a nightmare for the player. On Friday night he was seen crying at Milanello; such is the torment surrounding his possible Milan exit.

Arabian news agencies had suggested that Kaka had signed a deal last night but there has been no confirmation from either club regarding these rumours just yet.

The Rossoneri have allowed the player to talk with City and the Italian club are willing to negotiate with regard to the money on offer.

Enghui is right. In Italy the 'allenatore' is just a trainer. He is completely cut off from the administrative work which is usually conducted by either former players or else by yes men.

In fact there were times when the coach had asked for lets say a left back and he ended up with two strikers. There were other occasions where a coach kicked a player out of his squad to end up being sacked because the owners didn't agreed with that decision. Mind you there are certain decent clubs such as Juventus and Sampdoria who do try to accomodate the manager's will (altough last season Ranieri wanted a creative midfielder and ended up with Poulsen). On the other hand there are owners who are simply out of control. Take for example Zamparini (Former Venezia owner and now owner of Palermo). The man had fired 26 coaches one of which (Guidolin) had been sacked 3 times.

We all know Kaka's acquainted with Jesus, but I dont get this point here of projected him as an angel with both Berlusconi and Galliani as devils...they both are morons though.

For the start, this Kaka deal is the biggest and the most prestigious for Abu Dhabhi's business aspirations in football. Robinho being a benchwarmer at Real Madrid was neither a big fish nor worth the money that was paid for him and his transfer was nothing but similar to Real Madrid paying over odds to buy Henize with a hope of landing the big fish.

On the side note when Robinho was in Brazil prior to the Portugal friendly, he had already mentioned he's loving his life in Manchester and would like more Brazilians particularly Kaka and Fabiano to join him and it was apparent City had already got a confirmation from Kaka through Robinho or his agent before they tabled a bid. City wouldn't have stuck their necks for too far had they not made an offline agreement with him, with the entire media hogging these two teams, it would be only a matter of a week City would've ended up as pillocks..A businessman like Abu Dhabi is took clever to end up as a laughing stock.

Now they've thrown the meat, and Milan board are finding it hard to resist as their recent ventures in the transfer market are all laughable. They've thrown the towel by saying, Kaka can go if he wants whilst the player tearfully alleges, if Milan dosent want him he would move on. The agreement is done and dusted, now both parties are playing the blame game to share the percentage of the blame, not to risk the ire of the fans.

They weren't. Rivaldo left when Kaka arrived, Redondo and Leonardo retired before.

Rivaldo joined Milan in 2003 and hanged around 2004 if my memory serves right.

Remember watching the match when they played their midseason exhibition match in Qatar with all their reserves playing in.

As for Redondo, he made his debut only in the middle of 02-2003 after his knee injury, and lasted for one more season. Kaka joined Milan in 2003.

Not sure about Leonardo though.

Leonardo left Milan in 2001, came back in 2002 but played only once.

Redondo in fact made 6 appearances after Kaka joined, I was wrong on this one.

United to buy Kaka in 2010?:drool:

Belesconi as just said that he would find it very hard to keep Kaka at Milan.Sounds like the money as persuaded him.

Pieces of meat don't hold out for a 20% increase in their salaries.

All this "poor Kaka" nonsense is getting on my tits. Whether he moves or not is entirely up to him.

Real had offered Kaka a much better salary then what he is currently earning and yet he refused it to stay with Milan. And we are talking here about Real and not feckin Shitty.

But their wages were nowhere near the scale City are offering, if the tabloids are true.

Also Real's bid was only half the money that was tabled by City.

Both Milan and Kaka are taking their fans for a ride.

Yeah we really know that he's holding out for 20% extra don't we? there aren't even any quotes:p Kaka has said that he'd leave IF milan want him to and by accepting the bid milan are clearly indicating that they would. If it was just about the money and not honouring Milan's wishes; Kaka would have signed by now. Come on pogue give him a break.
