If I were him i'd go surely... see... you are an excellent worker, you take a low performing shit job with an extraordinary salary... it's a dream job for me...

Being competitive? feck it! Ronaldo is here...

Well i hope he signs with some clause attached, like the one mentioned in previous posts, and city gets no where near champions league football. We get to signed a player who won the world player award with a couple of years of premiership experience... :D

Football is usually more to (most) the players, they want trophies, fans, awards, big games, big tournaments etc... Usually, they are very ambitious

True , but if Kaka does sign the pulling power that club sudden has increases ten fold. More big names shall follow including the worlds best managers and coaches. Big games will follow etc etc. If City get the players there after then it shall be sooner rather than later that they shall be challengeing for the top honours.

This just seems like the one story the media make up every transfer windw and City are responding to it to try and deflect attention away from the fact they've out of both domestic cups and 2 points off relegation.

Absolute madness.....Why the fook would he want to go to City other than for 500k a week :-) ..Be nice if they signed him and went down.....Can't believe Bridge is on 90k a week either......For the sake of football I hope he doesn't go...

Absolute Greed instead man!

Sorry, this is way off track but what irks me is Kaka has come out with in the past about his deep Christian beliefs & that money is not that important to him.

He wore a T-Shirt saying "I belong to Jesus", http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/european_football/article1838356.ece after Meeeelan won the Champions League Final 2 years ago. He was making a statement then, so what statement is he making now?! "I belong to...... Jesus - how much?"

Devout Christians continuously proclaim the moral high ground & look down upon those who are not up to their spiritual level. The "Deadly Sins" are what Christians regard as cornerstone to their Religious Beliefs. Abide by them & ye will be saved. Greed is a Deadly Sin. What we're seeing now is contradictions!

Will Kaka give a huge portion of his weekly income - reportedly £500k+, to various charities? I'd say he'd have to consider it as a charm offensive, especially when the world is in alot of financial uncertainty!

Good point
I somehow doubt it though
He could feed a lot of starving Christian's with that sort of money....
But I fear that although he belongs to Jesus that ultimately money is the God in all of this....

Kaka actually donates a portion of his current salary to his church in Brazil.

There's no doubt they'd be pocketing a chunk of change if this deal goes through.

Christianity does not deny the importance of money in human's lives, and accepting a better offer does not constitute as a sin. It's different greed that does.

What a load of shite. Take that bleeding heart nancy diatribe elsewhere. This is a fecking football forum.

Kaka isn't demanding these wages, its not greed at all. Hes already on well over 100k a week at Milan as it is, no one accuses him of being greedy while hes there.

I saw on BBC headline text that Kaka has said that he wants to stay at the san siro (it was around 30 mins ago). Why are soo many conflicting reports coming out.

@RHD, Kaka already donates a tenth of his income to charity so yes he will continue to do so and a bit more if he was to move to city.

Thats great, he could do alot of good with that sort of money - we all could!

He's not the only footballer or sportsman that gives away money to the needy though, there are many. Remember watching the build-up to the Pacman - De la Hoya fight & his a national hero in the Philipines & especially his village for the money he has given them for infrastructure & living....

I take nothin away from Kaka - he seems like a really good lad & out of all the greedy footballers in todays game, he was supposed to be the exception to the rule, this why I ranted about his faith & this new prospective wealth!

he once belonged to Jesus, but soon he'll be the personal property of some Allah worshipping retard with tons of cash. Pretty sad, actually...

The question I ask is where does the line between greed and just plain common sense have to be drawn?

In my opinion, if Citeh are going to throw around this type of money, then not only is it NOT greedy for Kaka to sign for them, it is for him financially, the right decision to make.

Bear in mind I make this point only from the perspective that he will never draw another paycheck after he retires. I think there are but a few of us that would turn the chance to increase our lifetime earnings.

You also must consider that as a spiritual man, his ability to contribute to that end would increase substantially with what we all are assuming is an outrageous contract for him to ponder.

As god as his higher power and with the ability to contribute to that greatly enhanced by this, I see it as all the more reason for him to sign.

But what do I know?

We dont know anything other than what we hear in the sports media & everyone's reporting that City are willing to pay him £500k per week + signing on fee etc... thats a far cry from earning £100k+ per week, of which is the norm for a footballer of his Calibre & previous World player of the year!

So accepting an offer for 5 times your weekly wage to go to a team struggling in the most competitive League in the World, out of 2 domestic cup competions by lower league clubs & with little chance of challenging for any of the European places on offer this season.... hmmmm I wonder why he would consider going there - maybe he likes the colour of the jersey or just quite possibly - the colour of money!

AC Milan are a Prestigious club - City are nothing!

Jesus just spoke to me in the form of a burning bush.

He said Kaka was going to give all of his money to the needy of Manchester, and would himself take his dinner from the soup kitchen to which he will become a patron. He will sleep on an alter that will be kept in the home team's changing room at Eastlands.

Anyone who wants to avoid spending an eternity in hell is welcome to buy Jesus' forgiveness for a flat fee of £1m. Cheques should be made payable to Kaka himself and sent to him c/o the club.

He will also be wowing fans by turning water into beer and bread into meat and potato pies at half time during home games.

You make alot of sense man

He could do a helluva lot of good with that sort of money but he's a footballer - a brilliant one at that but he's not a Martyr either!

This story isnt just being reported in the sports pages, this is making headline news all over the world. £100m+ for a footballer & £500k+ per week in wages, when everyone is shittin it that they might lose their job. Its rubbing salt in alot of people's eyes at the mo. Folk who dont even like football are yapping away on the street about this!

The other irritating thing, well for me anyway, is that these new owners have been milking the world with oil prices for decades & now they wanna have a bitta fun with football. feck off & buy a Subbuteo table instead!

Besides, why do you lot think that moving to City shows a lack of ambition for Kaka? It's not like Milan have been doing great recently and a lot of rebuilding needs to be done there if they want to get back among the best.

City are not a top club at the moment but it's their goal and their financial backing means that they can easily find themselves among top 4 English clubs in a couple of years. This could go down as a golden era in City's history and being a part of that may be considered prestigious at some point. It's not like he's moving to a stagnating City side, it is a club that is bound to make a huge progress.

Or may equally be the biggest cluster feck on record.

With the kind of money Arabs have been talking about, they will transform this club into a top one at some point. Maybe not very soon but it will happen the same as it happened with Chelsea.

That is not in question. But it is all about timing. Kaka might end up missing out on European football for a few seasons - though didnt I read that he has a release clause if they dont qualify next season?

That's the thing, I dont think they will. Cobbling together a load of expensive imports is one thing but turning that into a top 4 team is something else - even with a British backbone to the team. It took Chelsea a while to get it right. And City have only gone backwards since the takeover.

Apparently arabianbusiness.com have said that Kaka has signed for citeh. Just saw it on ssn.

Just heard the rumour on the radio too.

Hmm. and doesn't refelct well on Hughes and the City management this first leaking out in the Middle East.

He'll have some sort of Champs League clause in his contract, so if true he'll be gone in another couple years.

Get real guys!

Come to terms with the world we are living in today.

For that sort of money, anyone would consider that move. Its not like Kaka was born and brought up as a Milan fan.And come on,its easy to say you would reject the money if you could. But I bet you wouldn't if it ever happened.

If the latest reports from Dubai are true then we should be hearing something official very soon. It would take extremely brave/foolish men to turn down such a gargantuan amount of money if offered.
