How can you have a settlement? Settlement to whom? The clubs your cheating has affected? The league itself? What?

No way in hell the PL could do that in my opinion. Its basically admitting they expect to lose. It also doesn't work for City at least for me as a City fan. Accepting a settlement, offers City nothing. City have been saying clearly not guilty, a settlement would do nothing to clear their name.

A settlement leaves this hanging over City and makes the PL look like they fabricated 115 charges, both teams are losers.

Someone in the PL legal team would also be under strong confidentiality rules, especially for their most high-profile case. Sounds like a load of nonsense.
 
Haven't the FA stated that City have been refusing to cooperate with some records as well?

This should never have been allowed to happen, it just gives City more power over European football and a position they can use to force through the abolition of FFP

Nope, it doesn't have jurisdiction over it formally.

I'm no expert on this obviously, however a lot of the literature suggests that the ECA boasts a lot of influence over UEFA and represents in an outsized manner the interests of the most elite clubs in Europe in a way that’s detrimental to national leagues.

As I have said before - why even bother if we break FFP by signing £20-30 million more than we are allowed to - we are not going to get punished anyway

On another note, that article is why sports washing is very effective.
No mention City are an oil state funded club.

They're too big now for anything to happen to them.
We will hear about it once every couple of months whenever there's some sort of procedure in the courtroom.
Then they'll appeal. then things go quiet again for some time....

And then, even if some years pass and they get stripped of their past achievements (seems unlikely to me and to many other posters by the looks of it)-
Do we fans of competing teams get some sense of relief?

Did Inter fans feel as if they won that league title that was given to them after Juve got done, back in the day?

It probably feels like nobody won the title in the years when a cheating team did so.

I'm not sure there's anything that can help with the present feeling of knowing that the strongest side in your competition almost certainly doesn't play by the same rules as everyone else.

Obtained naming rights to the stadium from the council. Good for City.

All operating, maintenance & future capital costs are borne by the club. Good for the Council.

Yeah very good point. It's like subliminal messaging, I'm sure the authors aren't even aware that they're doing it.

On the charges front, I can't see how a settlement is a likely outcome. I can't see the PL going as far as they have just for a settlement.

Of course they will.

It’ll be in the financial region never seen before and the PL will be loaded.

Cue a load of guff of ‘grass-roots’ football blah, blah and the whole world will forget about the whole scenario.

city will be self-sufficient by then and we can all move on.
