Tonight has made me want to walk away from football.
 
Tired of the media covering for them. News flash most of the county hate City and they barely have any of their own fans. Going in hard on them would be more popular. Tonight really felt like one of the darkest days in football. A culminating showcase of the sad decline of the beautiful game. Slowly killed ever since Abramovic bought Chelsea in 2003.
 
Nothing is going to happen. We're too far gone now.
Maybe a slap on the wrist, but that's it, I'm afraid

This doesn't diminish our Treble as an achievement at all. But yeah, I feel like the game is dying and this is certainly not helping. It's getting harder and harder to care.
 
When can they be punished and get relegated to league 2?
Any other kind of punishments will have no impact or effect.
Once they get relegated to lower division (not just championship), no players will stay and waste 3 to 4 years of their peak years playing for the club. However i don't think they have the balls to do that at all.

Yeah it fecking stings but our treble shits all over theirs for numerous reasons. Be proud of our history. Don’t let an awful club, with an utterly embarrassing fanbase get you down. What we see now isn’t the City we grew up laughing at. It’s a relatively new club founded in 2008. Their name is a shit stain engraved into every trophy they win.

Well they didn’t destroy anything. Ours‘ actually got more important. Imagine if we hadn’t done it the Cheats‘ would have been the first.
 
What will be interesting is how Europe reacts to this. Before, it was an internal problem as their cheating was only affecting their domestic league, but they've now disrupted European order and knocked noses out of joint whilst doing so. Do they get to continue doing that unabated? If yes, they've truly broken football as we know it because prior to this, blatant cheating had reprimand that acted as a deterrent.

If they can just flout the rules, what is the point of said rules?

You are definitely in the minority unfortunately. I also find all of that takes away from their achievements to the point it just feels empty. However, the media and wider football audience adores them so I will have to avoid anything football related for a while.

If it carries on like this, the EPL will be like the Bundesliga, or Ligue 1 where one team dominates and the rest scramble after the crumbs. What's more annoying is that if we hadn't been so poorly managed by the Glazers after 2013, and not led by a banker doing a job for which he was manifestly unsuited, we would be in a position to stop that domination.
 
It's really bad punditry and journalism that this is being brushed under carpet on TV, everytime this team is talked or written about there should be a section on it. Certainly should be discussed and known.
 
Problem is money talks, they'll somehow get away with it with a slap on the wrist.

Yup.

Plus our run to the CL final was so fecking brutal, and we did it on the final without two of our best players.

Don’t get me wrong, it hurts. Especially after the FA Cup loss as well.

But in terms of them winning the treble.. I for one am surprised it’s taken them this long to achieve it, and in my opinion comes nowhere near our achievements in ‘99. Hopefully their titles get taken away in a few years, just have to wait till then!

Sky, BT and the BBC (as far as the UK goes, can’t speak for other global networks) all pay an absolute fortune for their TV rights. There is no way in hell any of them are going to start shitting on the product they are selling by constantly reminding everyone that it’s all meaningless because the team sweeping up all the honours are guilty of systematic cheating.

I'm not saying it's the only thing they have to talk about, but there should be a short discussion about the implications of it, all I'm asking for is a balanced analysis on them. They can talk about how good a football team they are (even I won't deny that) but the context should also be talked about.

And this is not just about the TV networks, even some of the articles written online rarely mention it.

Money talks, always has.

Al Khealifi is part of the UEFA committee, so that gives you an idea that nothing will happen to the likes of City, PSG, and Newcastle.

As long as you give big bribes to suits in high positions, you can get away with basically anything, this has always been the case.

Unfortunately it's the world we live in, the people with the most money have the most influence and can get away with pretty much anything.

I agree. There absolutely should but for reasons given they won’t. They addressed it when the charges dropped and they will address it when a decision is made or we get an update but they’re not going to tarnish the image of the product they pay billions for.

UEFA already tried tbf. Would've been interesting to see what the last few years would have been like if that ban had been upheld.

Inter was the better team tonight. It goes to show again that this City team is still very mentally fragile.
Inter showed more hunger for the ball and with a bit more luck, would’ve come out as the winners.
Referee was also strange, blowing the whistle for every little contact in favor or City.

On another note, what a soulless celebration. From the players and the crowd.

I wonder if Pep will now leave. Perhaps he’ll take a few months off and then take charge of Spain before the Euros

I also suspect that we’ve seen the « best » of Grealish and he’ll now go down the path of too much partying and drinking thinking he’s made it

The PL need to think really carefully about what route they take with city. If they just fine them, they essentially legalise what they’ve done, and Newcastle and every other Middle Eastern owned club (which will be most before long) will follow suit. They could set a precedent, or they could nip it in the bud.

Because you're innocent until proven guilty, the latter hasn't happened yet in any legal sense and only the PL can tell us why they haven't done whatever it is they're supposed to do to show that

Because there's no integrity in sport its about money only.

They won't get titles stripped or anything like that sponsors want city in tournaments too.

Honestly city will be ahead of United within 10 years on CLs.

We are so far behind at this point.

Should Lance Armstrong have been allowed to compete in the Tour de France each year if doping scandal would have come out earlier?

If not, what's the difference between the two industrial scale corruption schemes?
