City and Financial Doping | Charged by PL with 130 FFP breaches | Hearing begins 16th Sep 2024 | Concluded 9th Dec 2024 - Awaiting outcome

Because your owners don't/won't ever behave that way. They don't lose, they don't accept no for an answer. They would still claim they were completely innocent even if they were found guilty of all charges and they will do whatever is necessary to be completely acquitted.

Look in to the history of Sheikh Mansour and his family. They aren't going to allow the Premier League to do anything that damages them.
This is also a strong possibility that I touched on, it could well just be arrogance or bravado from the owners. I don't know, you don't know. But what we do know is City are acting like they know they aren't getting relegated. Acting being the key word cause we have no idea besides.

So, still nothing?
there’s a slight delay whilst the members of the independent panel get back from their dubai holiday. you’d think we’d then get the outcome, but in an absolute freak turn of events, they’re then all moving into their new houses.

He doesn't have to be a similar player. I dunno why people think you have to replace X with X. Pep replaced Fernandinho with Rodri, two complete opposites as a 6. He just has to be able to play in position X on the pitch.

We both know there's a lot more to it than "just play in position x".

You can't replace De Bruyne with a runner/finisher (which is what this guy seems to be, from what I've read).

I mean if you read my posts I literally say its not normal behaviour and looks like we're rushing ahead against a potential transfer ban. It's literally right there in my posts on this page, but hey whatever floats your boat whilst being completely wrong about both Walker and Marmoush... Have at it.

You said you're not acting like anything's going to come of it, but then also acknowledge that you're acting really weirdly.

Those two things don't really go together.

Is it business as usual, or have you gone a bit rogue and handed out a bizarre near ten year contract and uncharacteristically spent a shit ton of money in the January transfer window, all while your form is inexplicably terrible?

You're acting incredibly strangely, but you, as a City fan, are choosing to believe that it's all bravado, rather than getting ahead of the storm.

Do you think City would say
"yeah to be honest mate, we're worried we're going to be utterly annihilated by this judgement and not be competitive for nuff years....ps do you still want to sign?"
Knowing the agent and the transferred player well, I do believe that both of them are smart and professional enough to get the best deal for themselves. They were some other clubs trying to sign the player, but City won the race. I am pretty convinced the two have no doubts that City will not be relegated.
So a team that lied for years about funding couldn’t possibly lie about knowing the outcome of any punishments to convince a player to join? With respect, the kid was coming from Lens. He’s exactly the kind of player who would stick around for a year in the championship if they went down.
Well, City may lie to public but fooling a player and his agent is not as easy and may lead to certain consequences.

I’ve just seen that they are the second top earners in football with £750m turnover last year. 100m more than us. They did pocket 25m for both the league and champions league but I’m not buying it. Real have 30000 more seats for a start. They made £800 odd and said it was due to new stadium.

During Covid times they were the only club with a positive revenue. It's total BS.

I would say lying to the Premier League would have more serious consequences

Bogus value sponsorships marketing and licensing deals. Both them and to a lesser extent PSG. Whenever you see a sponsorship by a company that shares the nationality of the owners you have to question the value-
City (Eithad, EtiSalat, Experience AbuDhabi, Aldar)
PSG (Qatar Airways, Visit Qatar, BeinSports, Brilliant Crypto)

There is no universe in which they should have more money from sponsors than us or Liverpool or Arsenal for that matter.

City are likely to avoid relegation to the championship it seems. I talked to the agent of one of the players they have just signed and he was convinced that his client will never play in the championship. Just another slap on tbe wrist means that the Premier League do not really care about integrity and fair play. Do they really want to become another Bundesliga?

City cant possibly know what punishment they'll be getting if any at this point as the Independent panel are still going over the evidence from both sides and deciding their verdicts on each of the charges.

If the players agent said he is convinced that his client will never play in the Championship that may be because he has a clause that allows him to leave the club if they are found guilty and relegated.

Of course they are but we're not going to get another KDB. Fernandes at you guys is probably the closest KDB style player in the word and he's like the pound store version (no offence) so there'll have to be a change in how we play. Pep has changed how we play multiple times based on personnel so he'll do it again. How much of a hit we'll take from losing Kevin is debateable but I imagine quite big.

The reason I think its bravado or knowledge of a relatively positive outcome as opposed to planning for the championship of conference is simple. Haaland is not gonna sign on to be in the championship regardless of what he says. Marmoush is not signing to be in League 1. I can understand Reis as he's just a kid.

But the other 3 signings are players who are what signing to just up and leave in the summer? I just don't see it as Haaland signed a 9 year deal and one of the hottest properties in Europe signed up for a season out of the PL. So either a, City know they're not getting hit as hard as people expect or b, City are all bluster and these players might have legal grounds if the punishment is severe. But there's no way these guys are signing up on the basis City are planning ahead for the Championship or lower. If City were preparing for the financial hit of relegation, Haaland would be up for sale as would the other big earners
The only big earner likely to leave is KDB and maybe at a push Grealish (who has been a flop relative to his price and wage point.).

Theres no rumour of us shipping on Erling, Stones etc.. and Haalands new wage is apparently his last wage + KDB's roughly at like 900k per week if reports are accurate. All the spending shows a club no expecting to head for the championship.

What happens we get relegated spending a fortune, come straight back up and fail PSR because of lack of income for the season(s) out of the premier league? Signing Haaland on Messi like money is not something a championship City can afford. So the club are either expecting to win or talking shit expecting to appeal.

City are spending a lot this window. Has anyone taken a look into their finances recently?

havent you heard? theyre a massively profitable machine now, turning over more money than any club in the world apart from Real Madrid, with record numbers year on year. Just dont ask any questions about how they got here, what's important is that they are now a fantastic, clean, well oiled machine and if you want to know anything more you're probably just a bitter fan or part of the cartel. They're great, and a credit to all the little clubs who wanted to get to the top

They're a shining light in the darkness of a corrupt world.

I thoroughly enjoyed FIFAs main man sitting next to their heirarchy last night. I know it’s the PL with the case against them but it really fills me with warmth and reassurance that they’re going to be fine.

With Walker off its like rats fleeing the sinking ship, people really think it's just about his personal situation?, them starting to sign players this window and that Haaland signing a 10 year contract is just normal business?

They know they're almost certainly going down but just won't be saying anything publically till it's officially announced.

Going down? Lot of optimists in here.

- record financial penalty
- record points deduction (that still ensures PL survival)
- transfer ban (of maybe a season)

Et voila! City have unprecedented level of punishment that doesn’t amount to anything. They’re getting their transfer business done before the ban. Miraculously.

Matter is over and done with.

My guess, of course.

What has never been explained is how they would honour their players contracts if they go down, no CL money, no PL money, sponsorship reflecting where they are in the leagues, fans jumping ship so match day revenue down, etc.

It's almost like they're daring the PL to follow through with this, as the almightly mess it will unleash for them will be massive, and as we found with Chelsea they're reluctant to punish fans for their clubs owners dealings.

This all screams of a transfer ban, 20-30 points deduction, and a big fine, then just hope it all goes away.

I hope so and I hope it’s a late verdict, meaning it gets administered next season since they’re not winning this season anyway. That’ll be at least two years without them being a factor. I’m just wondering what the united’s and Liverpool’s of the world will do if there’s no punishment at all except monetary.

Kyle Walker has been getting online abuse from City fans all season to the point he called the police on a particular X account. He knows his time is up at this level and walked.

Is it true in that Daily Mail article that both Man City and the PL's barristers in this case are from the same law firm? Blackstone Chambers? Surely that would be a massive conflict of interests? Unless I have read it wrong

if related to Blackstone Group, then surely that’s a terrible thing.

I didn't see it, and it was Tim Sherwood, but it's clear the media are a bunch of yellow bellies when it comes to saying anything that might be remotely defamatory about them.

Wouldn't surprise me if we don't see Tim for a while now.

City have history with this too
I think I remember reading that they made an official complaint to Sky a few years ago regarding the comments of Keane/Souness which left Sky sweating

How does this work? RC Lens arnt a City Group club

From what I can tell, city have actually signed the player. They gave him the money to pay off his release clause from his youth contract then loaned him to Lens.

Valladolid have released a large document saying that City got in his ear and convinced him not to sign a full professional contract. They valued him at about 3 times what they got.
