Christian Pulisic

Very talented player and a actual realistic rumor for once.

This would be a good move for United and would instantly be their best winger.

Let’s take a look at the attacking players Tuchel has worked with so far:

Mount - continued to look great and was our best attacker last season
Werner - was already struggling before Tuchel came in, confidence was at rock bottom, flopped. Don’t see how Tuchel was the cause of that.
Lukaku - reverted back to his United form, got overweight, terrible attitude, struggles with basic football skills. Again, don’t see how Tuchel‘s tactics had anything to do with him struggling.
CHO - out injured time and again and when he has played the Achilles injury took a lot out of him.
Ziyech - this is the one player who I definitely feel has been a casualty of Tuchel’s system. A shadow of the player he was at Ajax.
Pulisic - also frequently injured, terribly inconsistent form, is lightweight and gets bullied often.

So no, I can’t really point to an attacker who has excelled since Tuchel has been here. But that’s not because of him. It’s because we have a hell of a lot of bang average attackers. We’ve had defenders who are more composed in the final third than many of our attacking players.

WHat's the verdict on Havertz?

Of all the attacking players we have been linked to recently he is easily the best. He will walk into our starting 11 over the likes of Rashford. He has injury troubles but when fit he is way better than Rashford. Please don’t just talk about only numbers for Rashford. Rashford has been a proper negative player for over 2 years now

Heard he was a United fan as a youngster too so there’s that….
The injuries worry me but he is a handy player - when available.

He would do well in Italy where his burst can get him open.

CP is mentally tough as hell. As a teenager, was the only player on the USMNT team that failed to get to the World Cup that looked like he gave a shit and performed at a high level. These are the type of players United need more of.

His end product is shite. An improvement on Elanga, granted, but is this where we’re at?
He's a glue type player that helps a team come together. I know we need better players overall, but we also need these type of players, players who make other players around him better.

How the feck some people would not want him on loan? He's an upgrade on both Martial and Rashford. The way some guys speak about Pulisic as if he's in his 30's. The lad is still only 23 and he would definitely improve us.

This is all hypothetical and working on assumption that Ronaldo is in fact leaving and that we will bring in a couple of players (I can see maguire dropped for a spell soon too), but something like:

----------------------De Gea-----------------

Meunier-----Varane----Martinez-----Shaw

---------------------------DM-------------------------
.................Eriksen.....Fernandes.............

...Pulisic.............Martial.............Sancho...

Is not terrible. In terms of attacking back up you'd need another option should Ronaldo go, it'd probably be some low budget stop gap. Leaving X, Rashford, Elanga, Garnacho as the attacking options from bench. Looking at that, player x would have to be something physical and offering something different. Above team would all hinge on the DM being a quality signing. This would mean making 4 signings including Pulisic on loan in next two weeks which seems highly unlikely

When they signed Sterling, I wondered if we'd move for Pulisic. Makes more sense than 70+ mil on Anthony.

errrr......these are hardly bang average attackers. Or at least not when they've played elsewhere. Lukaku was never this bad for United.

I think he's easily better than Rashford - who after a purple patch has reverted back to his mean - and more suited to the PL than Sancho.

A loan would be pointless though - it would need to a perm.

Loan makes perfect sense. We have more holes than we can afford to fill.

All I know about the player

23, is only not a star because of his injuries. At his age, he can overcome them (whether he will is another matter). A 1 yr loan with an option to buy would be very shrewd business.

Massive upgrade on (current form) Rashford and Sancho

There would be way too many takers for Pulisic on loan. He isn't choosing us.

- 23 years old
- marketable as hell
- would instantly be one of the 3 best players at United and if Ronaldo leaves then along with Bruno the best player at the club
- still room to develop and grow
- the type of player ETH wants
- Cheap and affordable!
- one of the few players who actually wants to come here

It’s a no brainer. Sign the kid.

As Arsenal fan I hope you don't get him, think he would be a very good addition. wrote this in May:

"Pulisic for MUFC would be a great pick-up IMO. Hard worker helps just behind Ronaldo. Would play well coming in higher up on left, Bruno slightly deeper on right and spend big on a DM/CM at the base like a Rodri. Sancho on left, Ziyech on right."

Haven't you learnt your lessons from taking our unwanted players yet?

- 23 yep
- who cares?
- Bollocks. Even the likes of Rashford have shown a lot more in his career and both haven't done anything in ages.
- It would be a loan, if he's any good Chelsea take him back so we'd be developing him for a rival
- True but Ten Hag probably wants to build a team, not get someone on loan who will just go back next year
- Cheap and affordable loan
- Says who?

Yes. Definitely. We are in fact lucky that Pulisic would consider us…we are not only shite but we tend to ruin careers.

it’s turning our noses up at quality hard working professionals that has us in this mess. He is by all accounts a top pro that gets on with things…no sulking.

get him in…better than all our frontline and no less productive than Sancho.

ETH has done more with less talented players than Pulisic…but Pulisic has the right attitude…and that’s key at this point.

Perhaps. It’s all just a bit underwhelming and panicked.

Better than Sancho and Rashford.

I wonder how people square this with the "Bundesliga is shit" narrative, considering that Sancho was performing leagues above Pulisic when they were both at Dortmund, despite being a year and a half younger.

Say what you want about Sancho and Rashford, but at least they have performed on a high level for longer periods of time before. Meanwhile, Pulisic is still waiting for his breakout year and he's getting dangerously close to not being considered talent age anymore.
