Looked nervy.
I'd play him every day over Hojlund who just doesn't do anything.

Agreed. He was really bad but at least he had enthusiasm and the players wanted to involve him. Right now Hojlund is just a black hole that everyone’s avoiding, and every action he takes is done with such strain. That has an impact on how we play even when he’s not getting the ball.
Wow his buildup play looked worse than Hojlund there. But he's young and it was his debut. Nerves and inexperience could play a big part.
I disagree that hojlund looked worse today. It wasn't that players were avoiding hojlund first half, it was that we were dreadful first half and couldn't get on the ball or into the game. We improved second half and so we were naturally higher up the pitch. Considering the players wanted to involve Chido Obi, he still did nothing beyond give the ball away cheaply. Like I said, he's super young and very raw so it's absolutely no surprise and no knock on him. It certainly doesn't mean that he won't 'make it'. But to use today as evidence that he can impact the game better than hojlund and is more ready makes no sense. He was really bad but at least he had enthusiasm and the players wanted to involve him. Yes, I also thought that his link up play was better than Hojlund. Not saying he played well but it speaks a lot about Hojlund rather than Obi who is just not ready yet. What? In one instance he shrugged off (and won) either one of Brainwaite/Tarkowski, something Hoijlund failed to do constantly. Towards the end, that flick on to Zirkzee was better than anything Rasmus did all game. Still a lot to learn obviously.
Hojlund held the ball up on a few occasions. But I really didn't see CO hold the ball up effectively at all.For starters, he held the ball up and won a few flick ons. I mean really basic stuff but Højlund did nothing.
Even if he did, I can't remember Hojlund doing that because on at least 9/10 occasions he lost it.Hojlund held the ball up on a few occasions. But I really didn't see CO hold the ball up effectively at all.
Yeah he also sold players short with easy passes and gave an unnecessarily high chipped ball to Ugarte next to him among other bits. It's fine, but let's not pretend hojlund wasn't doing anything Chido did before the sub. What? He won a flick on header to Zirkzee. Hojlund lost all 4 of his aerial duels.Really?! What action did you see that made you think that?
He was just less involved. Less of a factor.Disagree on every single point, no idea how you come to co course any of that
He basically underhit a pass or two but likely just nerves. His runs were fine.
He had 10 touches in 20 minutes to Hojlund’s 12 touches in 70 minutes. He was significantly more involved. He was just less involved. Less of a factor.
Would like to see him get more game time to be fair. 100% is a better option than Hoijlund right now.
Will he?Looks nervous as to be expected
He will be our future no 9 so let’s keep giving him game time.
That just isn’t true, though, is it?He was just less involved. Less of a factor.

Not for starting games I don't think. He had an honest good go at it but he was against a tired defence going end up end and he couldn't even get a shot off. Better in the buildup but Everton weren't pressing half as hard. He would suffer from the same fate as Rasmus if he started. Zirkzee looked a lot better as the game went on at least. If we'd played for another 90 he might have gotten something out of it![]()
Did you read the point I made?Yup, I didn’t say he was flawless.. those passes can be put down to nerves perhaps.. what’s Rasmus excuse?
My mistake then. Little hard to watch in the pub sometimes, I barely saw anything from him.He had 10 touches in 20 minutes to Hojlund’s 12 touches in 70 minutes. He was significantly more involved.

Watching them play?Your player evaluation techniques continue to astonish
At this point I don't care which starts up front, none are doing anything. I am worried we could do more harm than good to such a young player though. We need to let go of the obsession with age and experience, and let him lead the line. He can’t be any worse than the limp dicks that started the game today.
Hojlund should be an option we can bring off the bench for now. Same with Zirksheeeeeeeeeeiiit.
