And often leads to injuries in growing athletes

Phew good job we have an armchair expert in sports from the newbs.

If only you were around to tell giggs and beckham, ronaldo etc - who often did extra double sessions every single day. Maybe they could have played until 65 with your expertise, alas they were mere broken shells of their former selves by the age of 22.

How do you know what training he's doing? Shooting practice on days off wouldn't lead to injury in a growing athlete, how do you know that's not what he's doing? That's right, you don't.

We are screaming out for hungry footballers and the kid clearly has some hunger or else he wouldn't put in extra. Why not focus on that instead of being so negative?

How on earth can he be considered a youth product? I saw it also on the manutd site. He isn't with us even 6 months..
They are bending the rules with Collyer, but this is too much.
By the way, the real count is 250 with Wheatley, so according to their count it should be 252 not 242

Yeah he corrected it in another tweet.

Well he signed before he was 18 and has played for our U18s and U21s. Of course everyone knows he got most of his footballing education in Copenhagen but by those rules he will be considered an academy graduate.

He's played for the youth team. Where do you want to draw the line? Playing for the youth team seems like a good place to draw the line for who should be classed as a youth product.

I can't imagine that many of our players once reached U20 level have been at the club since U6. Amass came from Watford, Fletchers from City, Ennis from Liverpool and even Giggs was in the City academy as a kid. No point in having purity tests in this day and age.

I don't expect him to be with the team from the age of six. I think the rule was being with us for at least two seasons?
Anyway, someone that grew up somewhere else and played with us just for a few months can't be considered a home grown product. If he happened to play only two games, one with the u18 and one with the u21, he would be considered a home product?

Interested to see how quick he is when he gets a proper run out. Hard to decide watching him at U18 level.

I wouldn’t be getting upset over it

It's the individual training he was doing with RH from Stretford Paddock. He was doing skills and finishing drills on his Sundays off for a few weeks

Because I know what I’m talking about, insta 1-2-1 sessions of a repetitive nature can do more harm than good. An opinion shared by top academies. These kids typically do 4 days per week training often double sessions, with 1 game per week.

If training at the right intensity it is more than enough, and better training obviously than 1-2-1 due to standard of group, random nature of actions in sessions etc.

Don’t beleive the social media hype around this stuff

Give it a go do five days per week hard cardio plus 2-3 gym sessions see how your body feels. These kids are only human but unfortunately feel huge pressure and often over train in search of gaining an edge
