Chicharito Loan Watch | Real Madrid

Well most bosses like to have 2 men for each position in case of multiple injuries in the same position (which we saw last year with Rooney and RvP out at the same time actually). So if he's going to be playing with 2 strikers he's going to want to keep Welbeck and Hernandez imo, however you can understand Hernandez wanting to leave when he's good enough to be starting at some decent clubs.

25 mil.

His record is superb and Championship strikers are going for 12 mil ffs. However, we could get less due to the Euro vs Pound difference if we sold abroad. I think Southampton could be interested for 20 mil.

Anyways hoping he stays.

I believe it is now inevitable that he will leave. I believe he is now 6th choice striker in this current 1-5-2-1-2 system. Not only behind Rooney, Welbeck and Van Persie. But also Januzaj and possible Zaha. Once he builds his confidence back up, I am sure he will be a huge asset for any clubs he goes to.

Adnan can also be used as a AM. Not sure Zaha will be preferred to Chicharito.

Yet i agree, it best for all parties if he is to leave. He did not really improved on his first great season, unfortunately it happens. Still i expect club will make a good profit on his sale, which is more that can be said about some of the other purchases.

And your point is? I said he would sit on their bench and wouldn't be a guaranteed starter.
haha i'm just messing man but you also said this "Hernandez is not versatile enough to fit in a system that Simeone wants" but i asked the question why go after a player you dont seem to have a fit for? Didn't Simeone make use of Falcao who is also considered to be a goal poacher in some sense?

Don't really get how come Chicha is 6th in strikers pecking order. There have been absolutely nothing so far to suggest that Januzaj and Zaha are ahead of him. Chicha and Welbeck are backups to RvP and Wayne, it seems to be.

I think its a matter of where he will end up now.

Would be a great fit for athletico w/ griezman in my opinion. I think he is more fit for that second tier of teams (athletico, dortmond, inter, etc).

It does feel like there is an air of inevitability about it. Even with the change of manager it feels like he now needs to go and get games. I don't begrudge him that at all. He's been a good player for us and he can get himself a decent move.

I don't think we'll quite get £20 million for him but I'd be disappointed if we don't get in the £15-18 million bracket.

Going to Atletico is better for his career and I think he'd do well there as there is less competition for the #9 spot.

Gutted if he leaves. He is a far better third striker option than Welbeck.

Wouldn't accept any less than 25 million. You're getting a proven goalscorer and someone who will get you 20+ goals a season if played regularly. He is a major asset to any team and I'll be absolutely gutted if he goes. But he deserves to play games.

It's gonna hurt when he becomes one of the hottest stars in Europe and we're sitting here like mugs wondering why the hell we let him go.

If he went to Atletico and played regularly he'd get 25 goals in La Liga. He guarantees goals, we should do everything to keep him but we simply can't guarantee him playing time I guess.

I think he'd get a solid 15 in the league, another 10 in champs/cup.

Honestly at his peak, his technical deficiencies were not that apparent. I remember some brillian first touches from him.. as soon as he got injured and started losing play time, a lot of his deficiencies started showing.. Amazing how game time is so important to a players morale.

If this move goes through it will be interesting to see how him and Mandzukic play together right.

He will score goals for fun anywhere he goes. I hope we get good money for him, because he is worth it. I wouldn't listen for anything under £20M.

I agree that he's worth more than 20m, but the sentimental part of me hopes we sell him whatever the price. I'd hate for us to dig in regarding the transfer fees, causing him to stay here and waste another season of his career on the bench. He deserves to be starting, and for his sake, I hope he gets the move to Atletico.

for sure... he deserves to move if he wants. It's a shame though...

I think he's worth 25 million to a Prem team in that his goals per minute ratio is insanely good, and while it's possible to go down with a 20 goal scorer, it's pretty freaking difficult.

But it's hard to see a good fit for him in the Prem now that Everton have Lukaku. Arsenal would be a brilliant option for him and them, as he could fight with Giroud for the 9 shirt or come off the bench and score goals. Spurs could sell Soldado to a La Liga or Serie A side for 12-15 and use a bit more of it on Hernandez.

Valencia make the most sense, now that they have rich owners. They really only have Feghouli and Parejo in their front 6 who are champions league quality. PSG too, if Cavani leaves and they need a backup 9 for Ibra. Same situation at Atletico Madrid, who could bring Hernandez off the bench.

I still don't think it's insane to loan him somewhere until January. Maybe one of Rooney or RVP gets hurt, or Rooney falls out with LVG. And if not, you can sell him with 18 months on his contract for presumably close to what you could sell him for with 24 months to go. Maybe he gets hot, scores 15 in 15 and that team or another decides to pay even more. This would entail loaning him to a side where he starts up front immediately like Newcastle, Valencia or Lyon.

Sad to see him go but as things stand he'll probably be off sooner than later. Will probably score a shite load of goals for Atletico too

Scoring goals at an appalling rate and not much else just isn't good enough for 7th place United. Good enough for 1st place United, but for 7th place not so much. 7th place United's goal scorers need to pass. So long Chicha your lack of passing ability won't be missed, maybe had you scored less but played more tippy tappy 1-2's you'd play more!

I like him and hopefully he goes to Atletico as this will be one reason more for me to watch most of their games. However it won't be easy for him as every player in Simeone's system has to work hard for the team and needs to be flexible.
And I am sure he won't start many games for them either, he will mainly come as a sub and score his goals.
Will still be good for him as at United he will barely play under LvG, so he will get more mins at Atletico, who are also in the CL = more games. They also have a paper-thin squad.

Are you describing Welbeck there? Hernandez' goal ratio isn't bad at all.

Hernandez going, while Anderson, Young and Fellaini linger here is downright depressing.

Well, yes and no. He's a better goalscorer than Danny without doubt, but if you're not a first teamer then flexibility is more of an asset. Danny can play from a wide attacking position, which its hard to imagine Hernandez doing.

Hernandez suffers from the problem that Kagawa has, if you can only do one thing and there's someone significantly more effective than you in your position, its hard to justify keeping you on - particularly in the circumstances we have, with no Europe.

Don't think anyone at the club wants him to spend his whole career as a substitute for us. He deserves a shot at regular football, somewhere he can be the star forward. Sometimes I find myself wondering if Ole would have been better off moving to Spurs when we accepted their bid back in 1998.

What will ppl say if he actually moves to Atletico but still won't be a starter and therefore will be behind Mandzukic who himself is nowhere near Rooney/RvP quality? Will some still blame Welbeck?

We'll probably get around £16m-£19m for him, the 30 million barrier is quite a large one in euros or pounds, I can't see any team breaking €30m (£23.5) for Hernandez.

I still think Under Van Gaal he has a spot as third choice. As a striker he is better than Welbeck. The only way I see us selling him is if another striker is brought it in.

Third best striker at this club, great option to have in the squad. Excellent finisher and has a knack of crucial goals.. Would hate to see him leave but it's inevitable..

He wants to play games and that's fair enough as No CL means a reduction in games, Rooney and Van Persie will be first choice so game time here will be limited and it must be really tempting for the club to sell, going to make a nice profit.

He will score goals, in this league or abroad. 20 a season type if he starts regularly. Price wise it's difficult to say, Lukaku goes for 28m then..

On a side note, would the majority be happy with Rooney,RvP, Welbeck and one of Keane/Wilson as our options?

Send him on loan for a year or two ala Lukaku, then when RVP is declining due to age (which even with LVG in charge is likely only 1-2 years) bring Hernandez back to replace him.

It's crazy that if we get decent money for him, Nani and Fellaini that we could end up with a pathetic net expenditure after the initial big spending
