Chicharito Loan Watch | Real Madrid

Happy for him. Though it's no surprise he's thriving there, he's a great finisher and because the competition of that league is so skewed, Real will create chances for him by the bucket loads.

He's finishing did suffer a bit by us in the latter part of his stint here. Let's hope he keeps up the scoring, so Real will pay a good 20M euro

I love him as a player but the time was right for him to move on. He just didn't seem happy any more. I can't say I'd blame him. He was horribly mismanaged last season.

He wanted to play more regularly, wasn't going to.

That said, he'll probably play even less at Madrid so...

He'll play more at Madrid. They're in more competitions and he only has Benzema in front of him. Possibly Jese depending on how he reacts to coming back from a long injury wait. Moyes didn't use him much last season.

He played 2 games more than he did the season before, he just wasn't as good. 4 goals in 24 league matches, compared with 10 in 22 the season before.

It's thinking like that, that will see us remain firmly ensconced in mid table mediocrity.

Moyes was negative and probably alienated players, but you're a professional football getting paid oodles per week, going into a WC summer, playing for United etc etc etc etc etc etc etc.

Players didn't and still aren't showing enough stones and taking away personal accountability for lack lustre performances and loss of form is just scapegoating - not a solution.

Yes but a better comparison would be minutes played. How many times did hernandez only come on in the last 5-10 minutes of games? He just very rarely got a chance.

Minutes are more important than appearances/matches. Having said that it's true he wasn't as good as in Fergie's final season.

Amen.

Only referenced matches since I couldn't find stats on minutes played anywhere. Even so, with two games more I think it's untrue to say he wasn't played much.

Played.... maybe

RELIED on? Not at all. There was a time when SAF looked to him to get us a goal we needed. The last two years he's been treated as a bit part player and nothing more.

I love Cheech. It's clear he had had his confidence shattered by the end.

Scored in the cup. Second goal outside the area for him. Really weird (which means really Chicharito).

Yep, competent keeper saves that easily. Unlike the goals he scored in his debut for them, to be fair!

A lot of people are surprised whenever he scores goals from range but he used to get all sorts of goals for Chivas before he signed for us, not just tap-ins. In fact I think I remember him slamming in a beautiful one from outside the box against us in that pre-season game where he played a half for them and a half for us.

Fergie immediately recognised that he was most useful (with Rooney on the pitch, at least) as a poacher and clearly instructed him to be disciplined about that role, and he stopped getting longer-ranged goals. But he's got it in his locker.

I bet Madrid have their own stylists who are working on making him even more marketable.

Dear lord!

Will never forget him destroying Chelsea in the league and champions league. Fantastic stuff.
