Chicharito Loan Watch | Real Madrid

Thanks for everything he's done for us under Fergie, but he's got to go, for his own good, and ours. He's useless these days and just gets in the way of others. You can actually expect everything to be ruined when it comes to him at this stage. His finishing is even shit now. Just needs a fresh start.

He's so obviously ill suited to a 352, I don't get why van Gaal persists. Only thing I can think of is he's trying to boost his value before a sale.

When in reality playing him is just doing the opposite.

Well he does get a strike partner at least and he needs game time. You can't blame LVG for playing him in case we can't move him on, we have to keep him happy. He feeds off of movement around him. He used to be so good playing on the heels of the last defenders and making good runs but like I said before he is showing he doesn't want to really be here. He doesn't want to make any noise because he feels the fans will turn against him.

He's been a substitute and a bit part player for a long time. You obviously forget how important he was to our title winning side of 2010/11. Hernandez is low on confidence and needs a run in a team like any striker, he need's a new start. He'd be brilliant if teams whipped balls in to him/supplied good service. The pea is no all round footballer like Rooney or RVP. He's there to tuck away simple chances using his speed and movement. He would be brilliant at Chelsea, Arsenal or any top team in Spain. He can't compensate for weakness or deficiencies in our midfield like others can. It's easy to dismiss and criticize him after tonight, typical.
Sing when your winning eh, when things go wrong we need someone to blame?

So we only blame for his poor form?

I mean he is doing great things with Mexico. Can't even get in their team. So their midfield must be crap too.

And I did say to somebody on here he definitely wouldn't fit Atletico. Not sure, why Juve would want him. Tevez and Llorente are vastly superior.

We must sell quickly before Juventus realize he's not good enough for them. Surprised they haven't already.

He seems like a lad that needs a new lease of life and a lad that just needs to get away from all that's going on at OT now, his confidence seems to be rock bottom.

If I were the man in charge of the chq book at Juve I'd be more inclined to be looking at the Hernandez of the not so distant past where he was banging in goals left right and centre for club and country and not the Hernandez of today.

If he does hit the road I reckon he'll be a success where ever it is he winds up.

Looked great towards the end of Fergies last season in charge, seemed to be stronger and his game improved to the extent where I wanted him in the side ahead of Rooney or RVP as they were quiet at the time too.

Since then though, wow, he looked abysmal last season and last night was horrendous.

Needs to be moved on and Wilson needs to be 4th choice striker.

Yeah, well, I've never been a fan. Would always prefer a striker scoring half as much as Hernandez and being able to take part in the build-up play and doing things on his own. I never liked to see him as a striker, whether it was instead of Berbatov or Welbeck. For me, it's always been extremely simple: We look better and more dangerous when Hernandez is not on the pitch than when he is. His goals don't outweigh that. I don't think he's suited for a club at the very highest level. A club fighting for EL qualification in the Premier League is his level in my opinion.

Juve have Morata, Tevez and Llorente. Granted it's not the greatest bunch of strikers and Hernandez is different to them all but would Hernandez even start regularly for them?

No, he wouldn't start regularly for Juventus. They might sell Llorente (at least there were rumours that Atleti were interested, not sure if there's anything in that) but they signed Morata for relatively big money. But he would have more opportunities than here.

He's never going to be a top quality striker. But he's an excellent finisher and a big pest for defenders, living off whatever service he's given from his team mates. And service hasn't been great at United for a while. If we're going to play to his strengths, he'll do well. If now, well...

I really like Hernandez but it's time for him to leave the club, we have Wilson who looks already far more rounded at 18.

erm given how we started this season then that might be our level as well

The 352 doesn't seem to be set up for runs of the shoulder of the last defender, if you're not playing him that way his use to the team, at this level, is minimal.

Van Gaal isn't supposed to be the sentimental sort or the type to play players for their sake, rather he seems to pick teams for the team's sake.

Van Gaal could still be in evaluation mode and wanted to give Hernandez another chance, perhaps with a slight tactical variation.

As a player who primarily relies on good service its no surprise to witness his current struggles.

He'd thrive in Italy and is easily good enough for any of the top teams over there.

He has not been void of services from what I have seen. It looks more of a confidence thing as it can not even finish anymore. Against Mk dons, didn't he miss like two sitters? He has had the service, but he lacks confidence at the moment.

I also have to say that when people said that Hernandez was a great finisher, they were wrong. He used to be a great clinical finisher, but not a great finisher. A great finisher is capable of scoring all kinds of goal not just predatory goals.

I'd rather give Wilson Hernandez's role off of the bench if I'm honest.

playing on the shoulder he's a real threat. great movement, good burst of pace and a good finisher
playing him in any other way and he's a passenger at best and a liability at worst as his all round game just isn't good enough
i saw him last night trying his best to play to the system but he's clearly not suited and its best if he moves on.
he's a great lad and i really hope he does well wherever he ends up

He might actually have been the striker most hurt by our lack of pace and ability to break through defenses. He relies so heavily on outrunning the last man and we have nothing to support that now.

He just looks so unnatural on the ball; like every little thing requires a gargantuan amount of focus and effort to pull off. I think he's clearly lost a yard of pace as well and whenever he does end up with a chance, his finishing has let him down. No surprise he wasn't first choice at the WC either.

Loved his attitude over the years but his time is up. Some of his play for us yesterday was just shockingly bad. It was David Bellion bad. Maybe worse. He really has regressed.

That chance near the end from James slash at the ball. All he had to do was take a touch but tried some unnecessary flick. Another frustrating game from him last night. Like others, would sooner see Wilson get more first team action or chances from the bench other him now.

Sadly we've all witnessed this lad regress so much over the last 12-18 months. Such a shame but we have to move him on now. Wilson has emerged, and we already have plenty of options up there without taking a regressed Hernandez into consideration. He offers no threat at all.

Getting back to normal from the red haze of yesterday, I think he is worth retaining.
- No regular run of games.
- Super sub who is not that super.
No wonder his performance is lacklustre and below par.

He should have taken the opportunity yesterday, but we definitely need a striker good within the box. Esp, with injuries always hanging over RvP, I don't want to commit to Wilson yet.

I think he should stay for one more season at least.

The thing with Hernandez is he always played with such a fire and enthusiasm, now he looks laboured and frankly a little sad, like he's a puppy sitting in the pound waiting for a new owner because his current owner doesn't want him

Not bad stats wise but not half the player of any of them.
If he doesn't score he brings absolutely nothing to the team. I really hope he goes. Including pre season he has made 5 starts for us so far, scored one brave header against Madrid but apart from that been complete toss.

I do think we've seen the last of him. He won't be around for the weekend, or at least won't be on the bench.

Last game played for United.

He's been good overall, but probably not good enough. Which probably could have been predicted of a £6m signing. He's exceeded expectation and we'll likely make a profit on him.

Time to let Wilson fly.

I'll never forget the way he stepped up to the plate in 2010/11. People will forget how much of a mess it all felt like after Rooney came out saying he wanted to leave. There was SO much tension before that game at Stoke where Hernandez scored the back header and poached the winner. He restored the faith that year, there was always a sense if we could get him the ball in the box we had a chance. 36 seconds against Chelsea...

If he's off I wish him all the best. His confidence clearly took some real blows last year and I'd love to see him scoring goals and smiling again.

Best hope Valencia cough up then as I can't see Juve offering much, feck knows why they'd even want him when they have Llorente, Tevez & Morata.
