Really rate him - hope he stays
what a great movement for that goal above!!
He looked fairly happy in that selfie with Mata, De Gea and Herrera. I guess you can't expect the guy to be moaping about but, if he has been told to get gone, he seems unusually cool about it.
Maybe the media have misinterpreted? Maybe he was told something like you'll be 4th choice when Van Persie's fit, so we'll listen to offers for you and if you want to play more you'll need to go?
After we beat Liverpool Van Gaal said he'd tell the players how he felt and let them decide. Maybe Hernandez is cool with being a sub, or thinks he can change Van Gaal's mind?
Would hardly go down as a regret. He will never be good enough to get what he wants at Old Trafford, so the club will get a good fee for him (that's a positive), he can get the move for he wants and start games (a positive for him). Love the guy to bits but if his heart is set on playing regular football, it's best for both parties to move on.Should be third choice on form. He will score 20+ goals for any club willing to give him a shot and he will be one of those regretful sells
It will be a regret when we will see him scoring 20 odd goals for any other team.Would hardly go down as a regret. But that will be because he is starting and will be the main threat. He won't be that at United, so we have to deal with it.It will be a regret when we will see him scoring 20 odd goals for any other team.
As of now, I think he would be an able back up for RvP/Rooney. Should one of them get injured/lose form (considering our newly found 2 striker system), he can easily slot in one of the roles without any fussBut that will be because he is starting and will be the main threat. He won't be that at United, so we have to deal with it.
He scored close to 18 as third choice in the 2012/13 season and had a few calls gone our way maybe made would have passed 20. Granted we won't be playing as many games this season but considering the age of RVP and him being injury prone, having Hernandez is better than losing him right now for the clubBut that will be because he is starting and will be the main threat. Yes he is a suitable backup but he can't base his plans of being a starter around a player getting injured. To get what he wants, he unfortunately needs to leave. As of now, I think he would be an able back up for RvP/Rooney. We will always look to bring in the best players, like we did with RVP. When RVP leaves, we will look to another big striker. Hernandez's value will be far less then, so it makes sense for him to start playing sooner than later at another club and us to get a decent fee for him.He scored close to 18 as third choice in the 2012/13 season and had a few calls gone our way maybe made would have passed 20. SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Mexico national team manager Miguel Herrera says he is in favor of Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez leaving Manchester United.
Hernandez made 24 league appearances for the Red Devils last season, but just six of those were starts, and reportedly he has been told by new United manager Louis Van Gaal to look for another club.
Herrera is of the belief that a change of scenery in needed and thinks Hernandez's rumored move to Juventus would serve the player well.
"I think [Chicharito] needs to leave," said Herrera in an exclusive interview with ESPN FC, with the help of a translator. "I think [Juventus] would be a good option for him. When a coach doesn't want you -- when you have your best experience, your best moment with them, and now the coach that wanted you is no longer there -- it's time to move.
"I think there are a lot of opportunities. They are not bad opportunities. If he goes to Juventus that would be an extraordinary team. Without a doubt, it would be a nice change for him. Hopefully he'll see more minutes."
We should hold onto him until we get a decent offer. I'm sick of getting lowball offers just because his name isn't always one of the first on the team sheet. He can still perform coming off the bench and we should dictate the price. Herrera can do one. No one should tell us who we should or shouldn't sell, if we want to be the biggest club in the world then we should start acting like it. He's 26 and in his prime. He has a great attitude, excellent movement, and is a natural finisher. At any other club he would command at least £20m, easily.
At this point I would rather sell him for a couple of millions less and give more gametime to Wilson as 4th striker than keep him for another season with no certainty that his value will grow. He is not suited to this type of football. We should hold onto him until we get a decent offer. I think he'll be gone by the end of the transfer window if not sooner. He provides goals but cant create them and we need both for the two players up front.
Hernandez is a poacher...so when he doesn't get any service, he is going to appear anonymous.
Hernandez has lost what made him so lethal in the past. His ability to be in the right place and his off the ball movement. Even now, he look like our worst finisher in the team. I never fell for the Hernandez hype because I always knew that he was limited. He needs a team that is direct and does not play intricate football to become the player he used to be. Under Van Gaal, the style we are aiming for is similiar to the style Manchester City, Bayern, Arsenal, Barcelona, or Ajax plays. That style does not suit Hernandez, as such I am surprised that Van Gaal has kept him or even Fellaini up till now. Of course it is good to have a plan B, but he seems to be using them as a plan A, which does not adhere to the total footballing philosophy.
