He is. He's played there for the past 5 years ffs. Had his best ever season as a 10 for Arsenal. Anyone who thinks cesc isn't a 10 clearly knows absolutely nothing about him. Just because he was a cm in his younger years doesn't make him a cm now.
The EPL is way to rugged now to play as a CM, he'd be better off as a No10 even if some are arguing that he isn't a number 10. He'd get munched hard in deeper midfield.

And I personally think that provided we don't play a conventional 442, he would be a brilliant signing for United as well.

What are you on about ? Cesc hasn't played as a #10 at all. He's played as a part of the front 3 out wide on a few occasions to offset the injury to Neymar or Pedro and a few here and there as a false #9/ quasi #8 when Messi was injured but that's it. Most of the times he's played as a part of the midfield 3. He's always been a CM and he's a CM now. Just because he's versatile enough to play a few other roles at times due to tactical reshuffling/ injury to key personnel doesn't mean that he's no longer a CM.

I just cant see LvG not bring any CMs in though, he couldnt have looked at our midfield and thought it was good enough. I do think the one he wants is Strootman though which is a big risk but one we're taking by the looks of it.
