Would love it, please let it happen
Is it just because he's too direct for your style of play? Do you think he could re-adapt to playing in a 2 man CM?

Obviously it's not going to happen, but still.

How brilliant would it be if we announced that we were signing Fabregas five minutes after Arsenal won the FA Cup?

I know it's not going to happen, but can you imagine?

Barca fans haven't taken to him, he constantly has to seek assurances every season, he's very highly rated in England, and the club always seem to be weirdly confident that he'll move to us - implying that prior contact has been made with his agent.

It's not that farfetched to assume it could happen. It just depends on Arsenal.

Edit: Well...and Barca of course.

It's May and I feel already bit tired of this shite but in times of so many changes in the club, this is material for absolute transfer hit, worthy of United's investment and quite powerful start of Louie's reign here.

I don't think it's hard to just send Barca a bid when we have so much space in midfield for new additions.

He's had is time in the limelight and chose to stay at his beloved Barca. He can feck off.

I went on that wankers twitter, and he also claimed that Van Persie had agreed personal terms with Arsenal but the sacking of Moyes changed things.

I don't find it hard to believe that he might have wanted out under Moyes, but I do find it hard to believe he would have wanted a move back to arsenal.

Oh well, seems a done deal then.

Welcome to Manchester United Fabregas, Kroos, Vidal, Robben and Shaw. See u soon at OT!

Did I forget anyone?

De Gea, Mata... We need at least two more spaniards. Fabregas and Koke will do thank you.

You would honestly turn him down based on that?

I wouldn't waste time going in for him again . That was last summer time to move on.

Fabregas:

"When I arrived, I knew there would be other clubs where I would have earned more money and where I could get more playing time.

"For example, I was making more money at Arsenal. But to join Barca was my dream, and I would not leave even if they [United] offered double my salary."

would have been super funny to see their scummy fans who have taunted him quickly revert back to hero worship

Arsenal are in the CL, we aren't. That's two plus points underneath Arsenal's name to our one. All we can offer is mo' money, but then again, mo' money, mo' problems.

But they're always finishing 4th, and will have won 1 trophy in 9 years if they win on Sunday.

We're still a bigger draw than Arsenal, whether they do their usual early knock out in Europe or not.

What, no mention of Fellaini???

We've been that disappointing in recent transfer windows that I'm not even excited about the upcoming one. I'm almost certain we won't sign any of the quality midfielders we're being linked with.

Now that barca have lost the league... Fabreg-ON!?!

Thought he was crap tonight. Obviously he would be a massive improvement over our current midfield but he really needs to do better than what he did tonight.

He was crap, yet again. Whistled off by the Barcelona fans, yet again.

I'm not sure if he'll leave but I do think if you put a decent bid in he's gettable this time.

That boat has sailed as far as i'm concerned. I've heard from far too many itk's from the Spanish side that he was just attention-seeking last Summer to get smoke blown up his arse by the club & the supporters.

He can go feck himself as far as i'm concerned. There's better players, with better attitudes than that bollox..

Barca fans dislike him, which i can understand - considering he went to Arsenal for the money & gave 2 fingers to Barca. But if Pogba was to come back to United - we'd welcome him with open arms.

"More than a club" - I think we earn that title more than most clubs!

Same as last season it will be. Barca will appoint manager in June.

Then whilst he at World Cup, everyone on twitter will say he wants to join us. And he will have meeting with new manager in late July. And they will keep him

To be honest, he's not worth £40m and that money would be better spent on Kroos, imo. He's worth about £30m, £35m max and anything more than that and I wouldn't mind if we don't buy him. He's been in no sort of form for a good two-three years now.
fabregas despite how much i hate him at barcelona (not really to his fault, just that his prescence imbalanced the greatest team in the world at the time of his arrival), fabregas is truly one of the top 5-10 centre midfielders in the world with his ability. He's miles ahead of kroos. I think kroos just gets so damn overrated. There's nothing he can do that fabregas can't do better, really. It's different if kroos was well rounded, or physically strong, or had a special outstanding trait, but he doesn't, he's very similar to fabregas, a little stronger and more physical, but nothing impresive or outstanding for the midfielder position, and fabregas is still far far ahead of him in terms of passing ability and vision, technical ability too (touch, ball control).

The fact that barca and fabregas just hasn't worked is simply because of how idiosyncratic being a midfielder for barcelona really is. you have to change who you are and adapt to the rigourous technicalities and details of their possesion play. When over the past two seasons under tito and martino that they've been more free flowing and direct, cesc has been the most effective out of iniesta/xavi/busquets because he still has and always has had one of the best final balls in the world. Barcelona doesn't play in a way complimentary to cesc, and his own play, while effective at times and quantifiably significant in terms of production (assists, goals), has never been complimentary to the barca way either. it still doesn't change or diminish his ability that he still shows on the field. he's world class, through and through.

i don't think fabregas is a real option though, just because of his arsenal history. it would truly feel a little wrong if fabregas came to us, desecrating. It would be like if Ronaldo went to city imo. it's not something you want to see happen and i'd feel uncomfortable cheering for cesc for many monthes if he came to us. as a footballer it's a no brainer to get cesc if you could, but due to his allegiences, i'd rather look elsewhere. I think we need a defensively competent midfielder much more then a playmaker anyways imo.
