fecking unbelievable that we're not involved.
Thats incorrect.
The buyout of a players contract is the price a player would have to pay to buy out his contract, and has no real bearing on his market value, in the event of it being a figure a "buying" club is willing to pay, they pay the buyout on the players behalf.
A release clause is different, it is a price that the club agrees that once is met they have to allow the player to talk to the club which has met the clause.

Bit rough on him if the Arsenal supporters jump on his back if he joined because Wenger didn't fancy having back...
Fake quote then.its doing the rounds on twitter
AWIMB and goonersworld are popular with the deluded lot from Norf LondonWhat is the most popular Arsenal forum? I want to see if there's any kind of Fabregas related meltdown.

Nothing about it online before last week. It's totally fake.originated from a facebook account allegedly....they were talking about it on Talk Shoite
I got my rather shoddy knowledge of the spanish buyout from the Herreira thread last year. From what you are saying, the Martinez transfer shouldn't have been that complicated then should it?
Bayern paid the buyout clause that released the player from his contract.
If its set a reasonable level it doesnt matter what the "selling club" want for the player, if the player wants to move then the prospective club just pays the money and away he goes.
They just brute forced the transfer through, paid his buyout thanks very much and just effective bypassed any need to talk to Atletico at all.
whatever.......am just going on what the conversation was on TS....dont get your knickers in a twist about itNothing about it online before last week. It's totally fake.
Oh wow, that's just fantastic. Thank you for this!
Bayern had a few months of legal complications before they could complete the Javi Martínez deal, if I remember correctly. It's very difficult (but seems to be possible?) to bypass the requirement to pay tax on top of the release clause - Real Madrid struggled with that too when buying Illarramendi as far as I know.
So yeah, you can probably 'brute force' your way through the transfer but if the selling club doesn't cooperate it's a very difficult process. I believe it also means you have no option to pay in instalments too, which is a big downside.
Arsenal fans look a bit silly right now. They used to talk about cesc like he was the promised child destined to return. Every time you remind arsenal fans that cesc treated them like dirt off his boot by going on strike, refusing to train, sulking and flirting with barca in his last season, they would response with 'oh but poor little cesc just wanted to go home!' All while treating RvP like he was the anti Christ. Glad that their naivety is being exposed right now.
A lot of our fans behave the same way towards Ronaldo, the guy who agreed with Blatter when he said that footballers were like slaves to their clubs when we refused to sell him to Madrid. Fans are fans.
It was kind of like when Eto'o said he "would rather sell groundnuts than play for Chelsea." and look what happened. Can't rule anything out here. He'll either go to Chelsea, United or Arsenal but there are too many media outlets reporting different things so I doubt we'll know for sure until after the WC.'If I ever wear a Chelsea shirt, you have the permission to kill me.' - Cesc Fabragas 2010

If we were in for him, then we would definitely be keeping it quiet as Woodward can't look like a tit again. I think this ship has sailed though.Any chance Woody will swoop in and make Barca an offer they can't refuse ? I trust that LvG has a plan but it's hard to wrap my head around the fact that we're not interested in an affordable player of Fabregas' quality. I keep thinking that it's probably a rumour that LvG doesn't want him and we're actually preparing a bid.
