Why are you even worried? He'll even sign for Liverpool before he signs for United according to you.
I am not worried.

He would disappoint. People would be expecting the Arsenal Fabregas. That guy is long gone.
Not sure what you're basing that on. He's not exactly been shit at Barca. He's been very good. Perhaps a little direct for Barca's system, and also plays a very advanced role, much different to how he was used at Arsenal. Still, he has 42 goals and 48 assists in 3 years at Barca. Very good numbers.
If United signed him, he would probably play in a position much closer to the position he played in at Arsenal. I'm sure he hasn't just forgotten how to play there.
I doubt the signing of Juan Mata from English rivals Chelsea wasn't deemed feasible either? Many of the names being mooted for moves to the club aren't realistic and United won't be the front-runners for Fabregas, but it has however passed the stage where it is completely incomprehensible.Signing realistic targets is what I like to see. It is actually what van Gaal is about also.
The targets list comprised by the media was laughable. Only a muppet would believe it or consider it possible.
it's always been a joke, even last year . Didn't expect it to keep giving. Cesc to Man Utd .
City can't offer a lot more money than us just so you know. Rooney is on a very similar/possibly higher wage than their best paid players.Anybody believes he will chose City over us? I think not unless he is totally after money. City can offer a lot more money than us and also the main man role. Us on the other hand have got a master coach who will surely get him back to his best and also the main man role. He also has his friends here.
Cesc Fabregas will not return to Arsenal from Barcelona as Arsene Wenger rules out £30m move
Spain international will be allowed to leave the Nou Camp with Manchester City now clear favourites to land the midfielder.

Didnt post the article because of the restriction due to the lawsuit threats recently. Or was that a joke?

The list is largely comprised of non-goers admittedly, but we should be targeting the best possible players in vital positions, if it becomes a possibility and some will fall into that category.
Many of the players we've let slip in recent seasons have been of our own accord, due to not compromising to transfer or agent fees.
This season, we simply must conform to paying premiums for players, as we need vast improvement in certain areas. In that respect, signing a Fabregas would be invaluable to the team as a whole, so the fee isn't important.
So was Mata and Van Persie back in the day, who do they play for now though?Signing realistic targets is what I like to see. It is actually what van Gaal is about also.

The difference now is we would be negotiating from a position of weakness instead of strength. Clubs know we are desperate and have a lot of money to spend. Woodward is also under a lot of pressure to perform this summer. If he only goes after star players he is going to fail again. Many people will think I am crazy, but trying to chase after star players is not what we should be doing this summer. We need to secure good/above average players that will help the squad. I think we have a good enough squad for van Gaal to secure a top 4 finish. Next summer(after United have secured a CL spot and van Gaal has shown what he can do in the PL) we would be in a better position to go after the world class players. Let's also not forget about FFP, which will give us an advantage.
So Barcelona is actively trying to sell him and we haven't move heaven and earth to sign him. Clear indicator that we don't want him this summer.
I remember for loads of last summer people saying this kind of thing for the likes of Fellaini.
So we buy him for a ridiculous fee, and he's been so average it's unreale.
If there's a chance to bring top draw in, go for it now, rather than the level below who we'll only have to replace in time.
not in van Gaal's plan...guy is going Dutch...
hope he does not get rid of Mata...
If Yaya Toure leaves, they will imo offer a lot more than us. I dont think we can afford to do that. Not moneywise in the short term, but in terms of the wage structure(which also ). I believe there is a massive gap between the highest and second highest paid player in our team. Rvp is currently on 200k/week, right? That should be 100k behind Rooney. Rooney is an anomaly.City can't offer a lot more money than us just so you know. Rooney is on a very similar/possibly higher wage than their best paid players.
You are right. Arsenal fans would hate on him. But I dont think that is a problem. Rvp didnt have to cope much. But Arsenal fans being Arsenal fans, would probably see him coming to us as a betrayal, whereas to City they wouldn't do.
Despite City basically purging Arsenal these last few years. Although again, Arsenal fans will probably say only 1 of Clichy, Sagna, Toure, Adeybayor and Nasri were a loss!

Also, us getting Fabregas would mean a direct threat to their fourth place. City, Chelsea, Liverpool(unless Suarez leaves) and us seem to be nailed on to the top four next season imo (im an very optimistic about van gaal). They dont want us to strengthen. Not with their player. The rise of Liverpool has become problematic for them. Us finishing so low saved their fourth place.
I think it's still only 50/50 he leaves Barca, 7/2 Arsenal was too good to resist thoughArsenal have more pressing issues than to sign Fabregas, it would be a signing from the heart rather than a totally logical one.
That being said he either stays at Barca (does he want to leave a failure) or goes to City....
Got a good feeling about this (I did last season too!)...
I bet Cesc and Agent De Gea are currently agreeing personal terms.
DDG courted him publicly in a press conference though! He's serious. (It only took a few flirtatious tweets to Mata to get the ball rolling on what will go down as the PLs greatest bromance).
I like your thinking, there are also other huge clubs with Spanish contingents in though.
Baffling. It doesnt seem to be an unreasonable point.I agree completely with your last line, but they've shot me down for saying that before. We basically dropped out of the mixer, and they've hit 4th because of that and Liverpool's emergence.
With the firepower we have upfront, I think it is not so hard to reach top 4 with our current squad. Van Gaal is clever. He can extract the best from our current midfield. That makes the job of the front four a lot easier. Hell, I think Moyes being so uninspiring was one of the reasons I would say that our midfield was so woeful; of course the tactics didnt help. Do you remember Carrick's first match under Giggs? He was back to his fluent passing ways.Really don't know how next season will go for us though. If it was Van Gaal taking over Fergie's team, I'd have thought top 4 was guaranteed, but he'll have to work hard just to get us there now.

I think he is going for Koke. Only CM we've been linked since Van Gaal has been appointed.
Love our Dave. Without doubt my favourite United player since Ronaldo left.DDG courted him publicly in a press conference though! He's serious. (It only took a few flirtatious tweets to Mata to get the ball rolling on what will go down as the PLs greatest bromance).
Nasri's the one who gets it in the neck in the 4222If he goes to City, it must mean Yaya is leaving because Pelegrini prefers to play a 2-man midfield, and as good a Cesc is, he wouldn't be able to replace Toure, in my opinion.
Those numbers are great. I know he'd be playing deeper, wherever he ends up but it's clear he's still got it.
Do you have a source for this or did you write it yourself?Cesc's future could turn out to be a 'return to the past'. The midfielder, after three seasons at Barca, has many offers to return this summer to the Premier League and specifically to Arsenal , the club that made him a star. Arsène Wenger is ready to bring him back to head up his new project and has already met with Darren Dein, the representative of the player to start negotiating.
At the meeting Dein and Wenger set the strategy for both parties. Arsenal have the right to buy Cesc back for a maximum of 36 million euros (one more than they got three seasons ago). The aim of the Gunners is not to pay a euro more than that figure and that's why Cesc needs to initiate the transfer. Currently, Cesc has not made any move since he does not know what role he might have in Luis Enrique's plans .
Although President Bartomeu has said publicly that Cesc is not for sale, the truth is that the club has put him on the market looking for 40 million, money needed to meet the signings in the pipeline. Cesc has played a total of 151 games in three seasons, scoring 42 goals and providing 45 assists. Last year started 43 times, was sub in 10 and scored 13 goals and made 16 assists.
