2nd in the league, will have champions league, great strike force young team. I dont think he fits any english team right now, Liverpool are buying lallana and they might consider fabregas an option for a similar role. I am not saying he will go to them.

he would be ideal for liverpool. Sit in the hole. perfect pulling the strings.

chelsea, liverpool, arsenal or ourselves. id say.

liverpool would be a good bet id say. Arsenal are a bunch of spoofers. they dont have the mettle for the big long season. Liverpool have steel. He would do well in their side.

If it came down to liverpool or arsenal, id be choosing liverpool. better team. more men.

There is absolutely no chance, literally minus percentage chances, that he ends up at Liverpool. So little a chance that it's not even worth discussing.

I can't see that working even if you managed to get hold of Cesc and Benzema. You're already weak definsevely in midfield. You've got too many similar players who all want to play the number 10 role.

As for Cesc it would be great of we could get hold of him, but i just don't see it happening we will have way to feck this one up as well.
So if we don't sign Fabregas, and he ends up at Arsenal for example, we'll have fecked up?

Woodward to blame, by any chance?

It's all very nice when we talk about loyalty with Fabregas.

But look at the evidence.
He left his hometown club to even get to Arsenal in the first place, paying a ridiculously tiny fee.
Then he leaves Arsenal because of this massive love for Barcelona (the club he'd had no qualms leaving)

And now he'll be leaving Barcelona again, we're meant to believe he'll go to Arsenal out of loyalty?!

feck, my mate text me saying that United might get Fabregas and I just laughed at him. Didn't realise the possibility of him leaving is this real!

I'm sure he feels very indebted to Arsenal for starting him out at such a young age and developing him into one of the best CMs in the world (before he went to Barca and ruined this), but I feel that if the big guns who have been pulling in the trophies over the past couple of years ie. Us, City and Chelsea, then I can easily see him choosing one of those 3 over Arsenal, especially as he would be needed more at these clubs than Arsenal too.

On another note, I can imagine Moysie sitting at home, shaking, thinking "I told yous all, I told you, we could have had him"

Liverpool? Really? No chance, whatsoever.

Nothing gives any sense of the "Might" being any stronger than at any time over the last couple of years.

I dont know how legitimate they are, but they quote the sport who are very much "The newspaper" Of barca.

According to Barcelona-based sports daily, Sport, new Manchester United manager, Louis Van Gaal has been given a reported €180 million kitty to rejuvenate and rebuild the Red Devils and the Dutchman has planned to raid the products of the youth academy he helped form.

The report goes on to add that a contingent from Manchester United will travel to Barcelona and meet with club officials on Monday, in the hope that they can secure the transfer of the 27-year-old former Arsenal captain.

Arsenal still retain the right of first refusal on the Spanish international, but Manchester United have been the aggressive, but all is pending on Fabregas himself, who despite being a target of criticism from the fans, as they feel he hasn’t justified his price tag paid to Arsenal in 2011, has insisted that his wish is to retire at his boyhood club.

The BBC reporting "Cesc Fabregas: Barcelona midfielder set to leave club" does to me.

Full article! Are you afeckers not reading this?

Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City has Intersan intereado and the future of Cesc Fabregas, but it seems to be finally the United Louis van Gaal who is willing to make the effort for the signing of midfielder putting on the table £ 30 million, nearly 37 million euros.

Several British media, from 'The Guardian' a 'Metro' through Sky Sports, who have rushed to announce the return of Cesc to the Premiere League.

While Arsenal have right of first refusal in the event of a transfer, if that matches the offer made by another club Cesc Fabregas and he wants to return to Emirates Stadium, it appears that is Manchester United who will train the Louis van Gaal main interested in Barcelona recruit to strengthen their midfield.

Moreover, the Manchester City meets the limitations of the penalty imposed for breaking UEFA rules Financial Fair Play.

It is true that Arsène Wenger Cesc always had in his advanced disciple and even became captain 'gunner'; but three years later it remains to be seen what the fate of the international Arenys de Mar.

What is increasingly clear, although the president Josep Maria Bartomeu claims otherwise, is that Cesc is listed d etransferiles and if all goes well will continue his career away from the Camp Nou after his three seasons at Camp Nou have been pregnant with light and dark.

RETURN

Fàbregas signed on August 15, 2011 his return to Barca in exchange for 40 million euros between fixed and variable, among which were about five million to the player that it was his own record to facilitate the complicated operation.

It was one of the major objectives of the Blaugrana technical direction, convinced that would help perpetuate the game model club once had shown good chemistry with the Spanish selection Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta and company. Also belongs to the generation of Leo Messi and Gerard Piqué, which coincided with the grassroots before joining Arsenal.

With the club has played 151 official matches, getting 42 goals and giving 45 assists; Successive coaches have placed both midfielder as 'false 9' and he replied with very bright phases and other less lucid they have sown some division in the stands of the Camp Nou.

He has won in that period A League, Copa del Rey, a World Clubs, Spain Super Cup and two Super Cups Spain; certainly its slope, as the rest of the team, has been the subject unable to obtain a Champions League during this period that he would have been the first on your resume and the club, the fifth.

At the end of the 2013-14 campaign, the first since 2008 without major titles at the club, his name has appeared on all lists and rumors of transfers but has a contract until 2016.

The one bad thing about the world cup is that we have to wait until its over before most transfers happen. I wonder will the fabregas saga end before or after the world cup.

Nothing is going to happen before the wirld cup. I would love to have Fabregas here though, would go a long way to solving our problems.Get to it De Gea and Mata.

He's a class player and it does indeed look likely he will leave Barcelona this summer. Surely we have some interest in him, if we get him over Arsenal is another matter.

Arsenal would be unwise to buy him back - they do not need him. We don't require him it seems by what the papers have been saying. If Toure is leaving - City could be a destination for him.

You don't want him at United? Why's that?

no i meant, that if van gaal doesnt want him, well i hope we dont get him, because it would mean woody is going out buying who he wants. Its for another thread but the manager must always be in complete control. if van gaal wants him, kudos, id take. but if he dont want him, we move on

If we have made a bid then Van Gaal must've given Woodward the go-ahead.

Who will he choose the love of De Gea and Mata or Arsene Wenger? :D

A club who wants him will buy him. Arsenal won't bid for him if they don't want him. Frankly I can't see where they need him, they won't sign him to stop someone else getting them. That's not how you justify an investment like that.

Our investment could be about £15m, given they still owe us money for Song.

Sport are "The newspaper" Of barca?

Bollocks. They're the catalan Daily Star. El Mundo Deportivo are a little more reliable.

Well perhaps but there's also wages to consider. Does it sound very 'Arsenal' to spend £42m on a player and then a year later make another huge investment in one that by and large plays in a similar position? Especially when you have to consider the other options there such as Wilshere and Ramsay which would mean either the two best young players, the record transfer signing or (presumably) the guy on the highest wage missing out on the first 11 on a fairly regular basis.

I think it's unlikely and that if Arsenal invest money this season it'll be at the back or more likely someone who can get them goals That £40,000,001 Suarez money should be still floating about, I see no reason why any portion of it should be diverted into signing someone they don't need

This is probably been said many times but having Mata and De Gea here will surely help our chances, along with Moyes leaving in the summer and the fact we can offer big wages. Would be difficult to get him if City and Chelsea got involved though.

The guys who pull the strings at Barcelona are absolute idiots. That's Thiago and now Fabregas leaving while Xavi remains painfully past his best without a replacement? That and completely ignoring their woeful, embarrassing defence. Whoever makes the decisions needs their balls booted.
