Fabregas signing for us again? (Surely not him failing to sign for Man Utd, that's fait accompli). This thread is giving me horrendous deja vu.

fabregas doesnt have iniestas dribbling technique
What in the name of good god would Cesc Fabregas want to go to Liverpool for?Dont think unite or arsenal will buy him. I wont be surprised if brendan forgets lallana and tries to do a deal for cesc. Every one in the current top 4 is stocked with players in his position. With us, LVG wont want him, he already has too many behind the striker players. He doesnt really fit anywhere, but he wont be a bad player for anyone. Strange situation with him.
He isnt even mentioned in barca players off to world cup for spain. Is he not going? or was he left out ?
You re proposing a weird variant on the 4222 with no steel in the first 2 and no wide ability in the middle 2. I can't see it working. We're not playing 442 we're playing with 3 proper CMs.

Fabregas wide right? Good waste of a central midfielder then. Buying him and playing him wide right is semi-retarded.I think we need a DM as well but we played Hleb-Flamini-Fabregas-Rosicky as a midfield 4 for much of the 2007-08 season, none of whom were at the time regarded for their defensive capabilities bar Flamini who still played a B2B role that season in my eyes.
We could, in theory at the very least play a 4 of Fabregas-Wilshere-Ramsey-Ozil.
Yeah, I know there's no way he's coming to United... but then a crazy voice in the back of my head reminds me that I thought there was no way Wenger would let us have RVP. Still, it won't happen.Fabregas signing for us again? (Surely not him failing to sign for Man Utd, that's fait accompli).

Indeed. Agent Dave has a busy summer ahead recruiting. He also said he's going to encourage Iniesta to play for United also.De Gea and Van Persie have an assignment on their hands I'd say!
Oh yes it is.That's ... not the way you use "fait accompli."
Eh? Did you pass out before you finished this post?See me passim
To be honest I can only see him sign for Arsenal. Apparently LVG doesn't fancy him because of age and lack of defensive discipline, so I don't see a point in getting exciting about this one.
Age? What, being 27, bang on perfect age?
In term of role he can replace him, not in term of level or style.
Xavi's role is very rigid, you need an architect to play there, Iniesta can't really play like Xavi that doesn't mean that he is a lesser player.
But Iniesta's role is more free, you don't need a typical player, you just need a very good creative player.
In his prime. Most likely not going to get any better and not much of a resale value.
I personally think he is exactly what we need. Plus a more "Yaya" type midfielder.

i agree. If you had him and mata in the same team, it would be problematic. him, mata and kagawa is asking for trouble.
Which is precisely why we would want to build a healthy midfield so that we don't get overrun and let our attackers spend their time upfront. Is it only me who thinks he could play well in a centre mid 2 alongside a mobile defensive player? And with Rooney always dropping deep, it wouldn't be a problem?
Wenger, past history, and the fact they're the new superpower now that they won the FA CupWhy are people convinced he's going to arsenal?
What superpower???Wenger, past history, and the fact they're the new superpower now that the won the FA Cup
Wilshere Ramsey
Cesc Ozil
Walcott Benzema

I dunno But that's what I'm hearing from giddy Arsenal fans for the past 2 weeks. What superpower???
You're not the only one. Unless my memory fails me, Fábregas dominated Old Trafford and Bernabéu playing next to Gilberto Silva in a midfield two before he was 20. I don't see why it would be a problem now.Is it only me who thinks he could play well in a centre mid 2 alongside a mobile defensive player? 2nd in the league, will have champions league, great strike force young team. I dont think he fits any english team right now, Liverpool are buying lallana and they might consider fabregas an option for a similar role. I am not saying he will go to them. What in the name of good god would Cesc Fabregas want to go to Liverpool for?
Plus CL football and probably decent wages too.Wenger, past history, and the fact they're the new superpower now that they won the FA Cup
