There is no way Wenger is passing up the chance to buy Fabregas back. Arsenal bound.

It's most likely he's ours. We've got the clause. We've got the CL football.
And the personal attachment. I'd be very surprised if he were playing anywhere else other than Arsenal next year. If he was to play somewhere else, then Fabregas must really want to win the PL before he retires.

Will be between Arsenal and City. I'd put my dollar on City, they have Garcia, Negredo and Navas that I'm sure will have a word.

I hope to lucifer that our transfer business is not based on The CL

Excellent rabbit punch.

So, Moyes moved (almost) heaven and earth (in a metaphoric sense) last summer to snare Fabregas for us, whilst all the talk so far under van Gaal has been that he doesn't rate/want him, yet you still feel the need to belittle Moyes in this thread?

It's just fecking tiresome at this stage. Adolescent behaviour.
I actually think Moyes targets were good and it appears to be LvG who is belittling his targets, as though Moyes knew nothing, which isn't the case. If LvG signs a load of dross from the Dutch league where will that leave us?

He won't.

Jesus, imagine going from a club like Barcelona to Arsenal.

If he had an ounce of brain, he'd go to City or Chelsea before Arsenal.

The only chance we have is if we throw a shit-tonne of cash at him, sell the idea of him being our main man in midfield and also the idea that without CL football, we'll be going on an all-out assault for the PL title.

Sadly, I just have no faith in the club's ability to close such a deal. If anyone believes that LvG doesn't want Fabregas, they're nuts. He clearly doesn't fancy us.

Fabregas left Arsenal to win silverware, it would be quite humbling for him to return.
This. They haven't improved one bit since he left so i don't see any reason why would he go back there. He will come to us or go to City if he wants to win the PL and continue being in the CL. I know we won't be in the competition next year but we are in a building process which is promising. We have lots of good players and a world class, proven winner manager.

When did he do that? Maybe I've missed where he said a single word about transfers since being announced.

Do you get a prize for 7th these days?

Fact is, we still have the reputation for being a trophy winning team. You have won one FA Cup - almost ballsing it up - and you think you're some sort of superpower again.

If you look back at your season, you lamely surrendered the league when it was right there for the taking.

Soft underbelly. Again.

All the hurrah about going back to Barcelona and if he returns to Arsenal it will be with his tail between his legs. Yes he won stuff, but cannot take a lot of credit for it. Would Arsenal have won something earlier if he had stayed there?

Nope. They had Nasri, RVP and Fabregas in their team and still managed to win nothing. It's Arsenal.

Would he burn all his bridges by going to another PL club besides Arsenal? Can't see it, but I'm no longer surprised by what footballers do, so there's that.

The FA Cup doesn't count because we almost lost?

He wouldn't have remained at Arsenal too much longer had he not joined Barcelona in 2011.

Not sure what you are getting at here? I have said all along I think he'll sign for Arsenal and those posts say that exact thing.

Your post sounds like it was agreeing with Alastair that it wasn't happening for arsenal.

Nah, I was saying it would deffo happen for them. Also, I think Alastair meant it wouldn't happen for us.

He left for trophies & most likely double his wages, he won't find any of them returning to Arsenal. City or Chelsea in that order, I think if City want him he's theirs where as Chelsea cannot be ruled out with 40m Luiz money plus what ever else they have put aside to spend.

If van Persie can go directly from arsenal to us, then why not.

One trophy in nine years doesn't equate to the success Manchester United have enjoyed in the same period, I think it is important for you to realise this.

The problem is that the past is another country.

It's last season that counts these days and the competitions you're playing in next season.

Are you high? The three best attacking players for the the three previous Premier League seasons have been Juan Mata, Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney. Rooney was rumoured to be half-way out the door at any time over the past 18 months and if you'd said in 2012 that Mata and van Persie would both be playing for United within 18 months, you'd have probably been sectioned.

I understand when people are pessimistic when it comes to prospective transfers, but it seems most have forgotten the massive transfer coups we've had recently, not to mention managing to hold onto our talisman as well.

If we're really interested in Fabregas, it'll take a huge incentive to usurp us. I doubt even guaranteed Champions League football this season would be a big enough carrot. Selling Fabregas our intentions for this coming season, as well as the future, won't be wholly impossible, in my opinion.

I hope that you're both wrong. It would be nice to have a world class midfielder for a change.

Wasn't it Cesc himself who claimed Manchester United would be back to their best before too long? I'm nearly sure he did. I'll try find the quotes.

He'd see at the likes of Nasri, RVP, Clichy who went to achieve far more than they could've at staying Arsenal.

Besides he's used to winning stuff at Barcelona.
