forget this no value in the market excuse we simply dont have the funds. It is worrying as all those around us continue to strenghten.

Our team is crying out for a creative player to give us a lift for the remainder of the season in all competitions- our lack of activity speaks for itself.

If fergie continues on this 'no value' theme we will never sign the quality players we need, if carroll is worth 35+ million what are we gonna be asked for bale, modric sanchez etc etc ?

If Carroll is worth 35 million, how much you think these quality players you speak off would be worth?

And you think they'd be worth it at 60 million or so?

Would you want to see the club spend 35m on Carroll? I wouldn't. These fees are just ridiculous.

On the other hand, if SAF is waiting for prices to go down then he'll have to wait for a long long time (eternity maybe?). Unless.....the UEFA Financial fair play rule will kick were it hurts.

We'll hav to spend big thats for sure!!

 Liverpool have not strengthened there team , at best stayed the same and that is pushing it.
come on do you really want us to waste £60 mill + on over rated players.
I would rather wait for the right player.

I got texted earlier from a mate saying that we have first refusal on him in the summer. Thought it might be bollocks but logical.

Am now reading we have made a bid for him?

If it's a choice between Utd and Liverpool, choose Utd, Charlie. Choose Utd.

Thanks to Cleverley we may yet be able to get away with having to spend money to replace Giggs. Unfortunately you can't say the same thing about midfield and the goalkeeping department.

Lets face it, even SAF had to embrace the fact that the fees are going up at ridiculous level. 12M for a defender who had less then 20 caps at EPL level and 7m for some random Portuguese kid with no experience at top flight level shows that. Stating that, there should be a limit to this insanity and you can't really blame SAF for utilizing the wait and see approach (the fifa financial fair play rules will be introduced next summer)

I knew Karl Oyston very well as a kid. Played a lot of football together on the streets.

:nono: Choose Liverpool, the Scousers will love you simply for turning United down.

Please....

If he turns United down for Liverpool then he truly deserves them.

If we are interested it's probably just to drive the price up for Liverpool.

Watch him go for £15m and with that all the Torres money is pissed away on two players they could have bought for a combined £2m not much more than a year ago.

I hope Sir Alex is only doing this to drive up the price for Liverpool, a bit like Nick Barmby all those years ago.

His would be a difficult shirt for Blackpool to fill.

Although Andy Reid and James Beattie are both fat cnuts as well, so perhaps it wouldn't go to waste.

Could you call him up and tell him we don't want him please Sults?

Lost contact after he my home town for Blackpool.

We will not sign Adams. SAF or Blackpool being mischievous trying to push price up.

Going on about his fitness is ridiculous. The lad's playing in a team full of first division (at best) players and the main attacking threat - so everything goes through him. Against United they were ran ragged by the team top of the league filled with supposed top players, having to close down constantly.

I watched the Liverpool and Blackpool game the other week and in the last ten minutes of the game he was still bombing forward. He might not look the fittest, and some players - as with people generally haven't the best natural fittnes, but make no mistake, if he wasn't fit he wouldnt be playing in the PL, nor would he be playing as well as he is against teh top sides in the league.

I cant see where anyone compares him to the likes of Iniesta and Scholes - thats just ridiculous - but I'm amazed that people can't see what a good player he is, even when clubs are seemingly queueing up to get him at a very decent price by todays standards.

As I've said before - if he was Brazilian people on here would be cryiong out for Fergie to sign him.

Sorry mate was replying to a different poster there so don't come on all high and mighty yeah

Let me put it simple he is not United quality in fact quite far from it. I never compared him to Iniesta or anyone, it was an ironic comparison that was a reply to a different poster and not you, so maybe read back before you post and quote me.

Would be fuming if we even considered a bid for him.

He is not that bad actually. He is a good playmaker. He is excellent at set piece delivery. I m not saying we should sign him but looking at the way you talk about him, its as if we are considering a bid for Robbie Findley.
